@@MrTrapdrummer It was indeed , until Hitler destroyed it's true meaning and made it a symbol of terror , super march though and one i've never heard before . As a Euphonium/Baritone player i found the euph part quite an easy play . Thanks for posting i shall mention this to our MD tonight .
Quite right! There's a goldmine of languishing gems out there....most of them in my boxroom! Hence this channel. Thanks again for watching, much appreciated.
This march is a winner. Such a shame that Bandmasters and DOM,s today seem to be averse to digging up the archives and subject us to the same tunes over and over.
In my opinion the old standbys are actually better than a lot of the modern stuff. Bring back the old victorian/Edwardian bandstand repertoire, the only problem is that most people nowadays don't have any comprehension of quality or class! Thanks for watching!
@@MrTrapdrummer Musical tastes have changed and people like to hear pieces they know and can tap their feet to . We ALWAYS have at least 2 good marches in our summer program .
Nice march, but I have to say the title did surprise me lol!
Yes, apparently it's a very ancient Eurasian symbol of peace and goodwill!

The third theme (or C, if you prefer) starting at 1:16, is so memorable! A real ear-worm!
I keep playing it over and over!

They're afraid of failure, I think; the old standbys might not dazzle anybody anymore, but at least they won't draw any dislike for being bad music.
