You're finally not shouting on me, I highly appreciate it
I AM NOW
@@Streaky_com there it is, I came in the comments just to say that I missed the shouting 🙏😂
Really learned a lot of practical takeaways in your free mastering workshop! Thanks for sharing your work-flow and processes!
Thanks for this video. Maybe you can use a bad track in RX so we can see actually how the problem areas would look like in RX, and what you do to fix them. Thanks!
Thank you for the great and informative videos Streaky. Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the tones you use to talk. It gets the attention that got us here in this channel
Thanks for this reminder STREAKY, have a nice weekend 🍻
Love it! I was just waiting for a video on your RX workflow 🔥
RX is a beast, but you have to know, what you're doing
He goes over it in detail in his mastering course. 🧠
Mate this is quality you've developed here. Like I open it videos without reading the title because I know there's gonna be no chatting for the sake of chatting.
Love spectral editing and view! A must have tool!
Very Nice Streaky. Would love to see how you deal with pops, clicks and noise in RX8.
Sometimes before real mastering i shave the transient a little bit just to ensure when compression to not have too much clipping... Always better more dynamics that a stereo squashed waveform
Oooch
@@Streaky_com luca's style :)
that's a really efficient approach in the long run. getting the first orientation right and then stick with it because you conviced yourself by actually interprating data - that's how engineers work. good flow you got there mate. cheers!
On the way to a 100K 🏄🏾♂️
Best channel for producers........ ❤️❤️ Lots of love to you streaky from india🇮🇳
Solid advice!
Streaky is the best.
Great tutorial! as always!
Where I come from, a workflow has two key components: 1.) Work 2.) a flow of sorts. This is just four minutes of you listening to a mix.
love this ..
I started mastering within RX10 itself and I honestly feel like it’s kind of the way 2 go
streaky giving game as usual, big ups.
Really awesome tip
Hi streaky! Great video. Would love to see some examples of clicking and anomalies in tracks you encounter. What does that look like in RX? Cause it always looks very dense to me. I hear it before I see anything normally. Thank you!
You need my course for that 👍
@@Streaky_com Lols. I'll sign up just for that
Happy to hear a new track on this channel. I feel like you are always demonstrating on the same 2 or 3.
just out of curiosity: If you DID find a click or pop when looking at the waveform, what would you have done? like, how would you get rid of it?
You know what RX is, right?
@@timgreig1704 I'm not very familiar with it
@@TonyMacaroni69_ it’s premium restoration software, it can fix most faults, it was removing ticks & pops when it was still a baby.
@@timgreig1704 oh ok cool, thanks for explaining :)
You could either use the de-click tool or the eraser.
Thank you for explaining your steps, Streaky. I was especially curious about your favorite sample rate as I'm producing in 48kHz and I'm sending one of my mixes your way in a week or two. Glad you won't have to resample it :)
Thank you for everything Streaky! You the man❤️
Thanks Streaky!
You and Help Me Devon are the best CZcams help engineers for me, thank you 🙏🏾
Have u just recently rebuilt ur studio with ur sofa & diffusor at the back?
No just showing it now
Streaky, you need to review the PMC RESULT 6 monitors. Would love to hear your thoughts….they are insane for the the money..
Didn’t like them
Work flow!!!!!
Why is it Mono!
I‘ve heard that analog gear working better when using higher sample rate, such as convert a 48k audio to 192k then send to analog gear would be get better quality than using original 48k file.Is this myth true?
Something depends
it’s analog, it works the same at any sample rate, & if you upsample it can’t add frequencies that weren’t there, it’s just adding empty samples.
@@timgreig1704 but it can have information in the very high frequencies, which can play havoc with your chain. Higher sample rate doesn’t always equal better, it’s context dependent.
@@tobiasjone why you telling me?
@@tobiasjone What problems are you talking about, this is news to me? Most quality analog outboard operates well beyond 20K because it has unlimited sample rate, there are plenty of devices with a response to 200K or even higher.
Off topic, but Neumann KH310s or HEDD Type 20 MK2? The HEDDs are a bit big for my room but I’m leaning towards them for their feature-set (plus I don’t monitor that loud).
Great reviews for both speakers, but unfortunately I can’t test them out side by side.
Neumann
What word clock are you using streaky?
Is sheep wool just as good as rockwool? Like does sheep wool dampen all frequencies equally?
The wool is down to the density
@@Streaky_com Hey Streaky! I’ve done a lot of testing and I found the source of my problem. My RME fireface 802 is a very noiseless interface, my rode NT2A does pick up background noise but it’s treatable. The issue are my walls, they are thin like it can pick up the laundry being done right next door and that’s what I realize. That being said, do you know any booth frames that isolate the outside noise with a panel built in that isn’t too costly?
My budget is $400-$500 for a sound booth and I found a Merino double layer wool blanket for 180 x 210 cm but I want to make sure I can have my voice isolated with a huge difference and barely have to use a gate
Ezzactly
Hi Streaky, when you up sample do you ever use the post-limiter toggle option to remove any 'possibly clipped samples' in the waveform statistics?
if you're mastering for cd at what points do you convert sample rate and bit depth?
My plug-ins sound better and so do my converters when I’m going into my analogue chain
what are you're thoughts on reason studios11 ?
Not tried it
Thank you very much!
You forgot the most important step, which is to separate the track out into 4 stems using "music rebalance", these days i do this with practically every track i master, cause it just gives way more control.
Shouldn’t need to be rebalancing at the mastering stage. That’s not mastering. In that case you need to go back to the production phase and re produce in a way that things are naturally balanced and not too busy in one given frequency range. Good production sounds better than most peoples masters.
@@natebrown4939 LOL, i'll keep on doing what gets the best results and ignore the "rules"!
@@retromograph3893 ignoring the rules is why you gotta do production work in the master phase 🤣😂😂😂😂😂 you never got the first part right lol
@@natebrown4939 What are you talking about, i'm mastering tracks for other people. You think i'm gonna tell every client they gotta work harder in the production / mix?...you crazy? That's a sure way to lose clients in a hurry.
@@retromograph3893 too be fair you’re not just mastering. That’s my point. Now if you wanna do multiple services for the price of one thats on you👌✅
Spoiler alert, he listens, thats it
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
what's the point of this video
You don't know what you're talking about.
Streaky I don’t see this plugin you’re using in RX 9 standard. What is the name of this RX you’re using? What version too? Let me guess it’s not in standard? 🤬Ty
