Omg I just noticed that my backup storage is larger than my actual files/photos and apps ... I had an idea on how iCloud worked but not entirely! You’re a life saver. I don’t care about the apps backup just the essentials like contacts notes and reminders! Btw once every year I clear my Photos and I saved them into ICloud Drive instead of IPhotos I really recommend that whenever you open your photo app it keeps the most recent ones and the old ones from 5 months and back stays still on your icloud files where you can access them whenever you want.

What I dont understand is, lets say tonight the phone backs up; the next night, when its backing up, does it create an ENTIRE backup of the phone a second time, thus creating a duplicate file on iCloud? Or does it just "update" whatever changes I've made that day, say ive deleted or added a photo, it just adjusts this on the cloud.. is that how it works? In other words, its more like a sync? And if I manually force a backup, again, how does it work? Will it simply send whatever is on the phone that hasnt been uploaded to cloud since the last backup, and remove from the cloud whatever ive deleted since the last backup? I doubt I’m the only one with it as I can’t be the only one utilising devices in this way.............so .......I have an iPhone 8 and an IPhone SE. I use one for my actual phone and the second i use as kinda added storage/work camera. So the SE phone has my family photos on and the other iPhone 8 has my work photos on. I’d like to keep them separate if possible or at the very least not lose anything. So my question is..... if I back up both phones to my iCloud is the latest backup going to overwrite the older one even though they are on different devices? or will they be backed up completely separately and remain independent of each other, or will the backups be merged in some way?
