00:00 Intro
Today we venture into a rather big but dead mall. This mall definitely has one of the best and most unique Sears l've ever seen, from the big grand entrance and impressive label
scars(more visible then Newburgh Mall Sears)
this truly is amazing. I never realized the size or complexity of this mall. From its dirty, forgotten food court to its empty eerie hallways this mall is an incredible gem!
History: The Hudson Valley Mall opened in 1981 with a Kmart, JCPenney, Hess's, and a Hoyts six-screen theater named Cinema 6 (later expanded to 12 screens and renamed after Regal Cinemas bought the theater)... An expansion during 1989 added a Sears to the east side of the mall as well as a new food court and approximately 15 other stores. The late 2010's saw several storied traditional department store retailers update their brick-and-mortar formats after being encroached upon to a degree by several digital retailers in recent years.
Thanks for watching! See you in the next explore!

i used to hang out here all the time when i was a teenager 😭
Carpeting seems like a terrible choice for the floor in a mall.
You couldn’t have said it better!
If they decide to take it up one day, it'll be quite a job to clean the glue from the tiles.
@daveburrows9876 that’s so true! The interview said they prefer them, I don’t think I do! Thanks for watching though!
Most malls had carpeted sitting areas, but the entire mall, a bad idea, especially in the winter, in the north.
@CSmith-gb1sl agreed!
11:28 "Just The Way It Is" playing in the background sounds fitting.
Agreed, it had some awesome songs playing. Thanks for watching and supporting, hope you enjoyed
I knew the owner of the Fun E Farm. He was a frat brother of mine. Died a couple of years ago from Covid. Probably why the place closed down
Interesting to know! Thanks for the input. Personally never realized how big this mall is
Odd to think these places are either struggling, slowly resurrecting, dying or shutting down in their own terms before it dies a slow death.
agreed, sad to see them go! Once such a icon and important
So, shoppers are clients now are we? (1:40)
Crazy I agree
The whole place feels very backrooms-esque. There r other ppl walking around, however...
Yes! Agree
Yuck 🤮
Fuckin ppl come from all over the world to clown on our mall😭😭
I lived in Kingston my entire life and I have a crazy story abt it. I was like 7 watching are we there yet in the theater w my family in 2005 I believe and after the movie we were gonna get something to eat at the food court, well we got to the exit of the theaters and a guy is ushering everyone out of the mall w the gate closed behind him saying “return to your cars immediately the mall is now closed” and we all were confused asf as was everyone. Anyways we go to riccardis a now closed restaurant and watching the news it was closed bc while we were watching the movie a man attempted to carry out a mass shooting in dicks which is still there today (there’s even less stores currently than there is in this video we’re cooked) and he had an ak47 style rifle and open fired at shoppers and managed to only injure 2 or 12 I forget but there was no deaths thank god however this is something that has NEVER been attempted before or since it’s the only incident of that nature that has ever occurred. He gets released from prison in 2027 I believe his name might be Richard (some Italian last name) idk I forget but he had columbine memorabilia in his car and he had a journal with several scribbled ramblings and it said something like “the most dangerous man is a the lonely man” but this is a true story they have the news reports abt it on CZcams and I’m sure it’s on google too just search “Hudson valley mall shooting” it will come up.
Yes I’ve seen it, we weren’t clowning it, just showcasing the mall, thanks for watching!
