    Love the joke on not recommending more than 200kg ! This channel deserves much more views due to its honest, knowledgable, and sensable advice.

    Love the joke at the end. I'm in press. Seriously I'm totally impressed with your channel. I am learning a heck of a lot. I love the old school teaching. I honestly don't know why there's only 13k subs.

    Love your podcasts!! "I'm in-press" 😂😂😂

  • @ChrisFit-ChristopherDaCosta

    Thanks Dan! I'm trying this tomorrow morning. I am already familiar with the Turkish Get Down as that is part of the brutal RKC Deep Six Workout so now I will add the presses , I only use 12Kg BTW when I do the RKC Deep Six! It feels like 20kg by the time I'm done doing both sides.

    Dan, I have enjoyed your ideas and instruction for some time. I am primary a golfer, so I like to to do full body exercise workouts for their efficiency. I have been doing TGUs as my my primary workout; and warming up with loaded carries. At the end of the TGU workout I occasionally add some squats, some overhead presses and some swings. I'm looking forward to your suggestion of adding 1 overhead press from each position, to my get ups. I have tried several KB flows, but never really developed a taste for them. This sounds like something I can stick with. Thank you.

    Brilliant advice on the TGD, WOW I have taken my weight down from 12kg to 5kg, that's how hard the TGD is for my body composition. Looks like more hard work and determination

    I am learning to the TGU with a light (20 Lbs) left & right. Just trying to get body memory down before going to heavier weight.

    Wow. Really mindblown. Does anyone have a video of someone trying this with all the presses? Would be really curious to see it in action before trying it. Thanks.

    I like doing these “half” TGUs from the ground to bridge position without going to “windshield wiper”.

      That's a good drill as well. Same rules apply on the weight though.

      I usually get to the kneeling for the half-windmill sort of movement but for some reason (might be my inexperience as compared to other people) I don't see a purpose on standing up.

    adding weights is better for the parts that are not holding the weight, turkish get ups arent suppose to be similar to how we do weights everyday at a gym. a lot of these work out programs from turkey to mongolia are really interesting in that they do more movements where you go from point a to b like squat walking , pretending to throw a weight like a girls soft ball pitcher where they stretch the armpit/elbow muscles as they pretend to throw the weight , they also drink a lot of salted fatty dairy products which can help before a work out in which they passed down to peoples they conquered like you would see in a persian/pakistani restaurant,they dont drink it as much but its still there for some reason . also evian water is the best. you can get a 1L bottle for 1.50 at the walmart here

    Read an article on StrongFirst yesterday where you wrote about strength standards, and you stated emphatically that the strength standard for the TGU was 32 kilos. So why did you change your opinion here?

    • @DanJohnStrengthCoach
      @DanJohnStrengthCoach  Před 2 měsíci

      That's not my standard. That's the standard for the program (from Pavel) that Mike was trying to help explain.
