I've recently started learning more about Persian dance, and would love to learn more about your costumes.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability :) There are a variety of different types of costumes that are based on the different regions of the country, as well as the style of dance. For example, the classical Persian dance costumes are much more ornate with jewels, feathers, and pearls... but the more village/country style dances (like Bandari) are less fancy and more likely to have coins as decoration, scarves on the head, etc.

Nicely broken down. I'm studying Persian dance and was wondering if you have any resources for costumes. It's hard to find costumes for Persian dance or patterns for sewing my own.
I agree! It’s VERY hard to find them! So there are different styles depending on the region... but I think if you can manage to get some type of harem pants (not too wide, though) and find a type of tunic or kaftan, you can then embellish it however you like. Or for of the village style, you can wear a short skirt on top of the pants and a type of long sleeve top or jacket. The headpieces for the classical or more fancy ones have a type of hat with a feather, embellished with jewels, pearls etc... or you can have something with coins, like we have here. If you check out my Nowruz video, you can see the head piece I am talking about.
