The offensive explosion of D’Angello Russell might have single handedly persuaded the Lakers to not make any moves at the trade deadline. It sounds crazy but he’s been that good.
In the last 14 games Russell has made a staggering jump from 14 and a half points on good percentage from downtown, to 24 and a half per game, shooting lights out.
Against Golden State he came up super clutch to secure a much needed win.
And this one in Boston, it was a game where absolutely nobody gave them a chance playing without Lebron and AD. But the Lakers got a monster win on the road and D-Lo had a lot to do with it. 16 points and 14 assists.
Russell positioned himself as the clear number 3 guy in this time span.
If this was the case from the start, LA would have been much higher in the standings, but given the circumstances, I’m sure that Lakers fans are thankful that this is happening and hoping that it can last as long as possible.
Next up, we got this guy.
If you thought that he’s been great this season just wait till you hear this.
Brunson averaged 26 points per game on good efficiency, and this is all star worthy by itself, but in the last 14 games he became absolutely unstoppable.
33 points on 52% shooting leading the Knicks on a wild 9 game winning streak at one point.
Brunson’s sensational run that coincided with OG Anunobi coming to this team, might have been the reason for the Knicks front office to believe that this team can go deep in the playoffs this year, so they pulled the trigger trading for Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks, making the roster even deeper.
The Knicks became dangerous, but Brunson is the head of the snake for this team. The motor for this team. And New York will go as far as he can take them running the offense.
And right now, he’s nothing short of spectacular.
Moving on, and you may wanna buckle up for this sequence.
The rookie Brandon Miller has been living in the shadow of Wemby and Chet. And playing for the Hornets doesn’t help either. But he is making a major leap.
Miller has been on fire lately, going for 14 points per game on 41 and a half percent from the field and 37 and a half from downtown, all the way to 22 and a half points on a superb efficiency.
These are star level numbers from him. This is what Charlotte saw in him when they drafted him. All of that while making freakish type of plays like the one at the beginning, as well as this:
Brandon is actually the reason why I selected this 14 game stretch looking for improvements, because this was the point where things started to click for him and I’m sure that he’ll continue to trend upwards, hopefully transforming into the franchise player for the Hornets.
Another mind blowing improvement is the one from Jonathan Kuminga who’s giving CPR to this Warriors team trying to revive them into playoff contention. And it seems like it’s working.
In a crazy turn of events he went from not getting enough minutes, to going to the media complaining about it, getting the chance from Steve Kerr and killing it ever since then.
Especially in the last few weeks.
From 12.8 points he catapulted all the way to 22.7 with improvements in efficiency across the board.
This immediately converted on a team level as well as Golden State have won 6 of the last 7 games and are back into the play in zone after looking dead in the water for much of the season.
And regardless of how it ends for the Warriors, I think it’s clear that Kuminga is finally taking the jump that this team has been hoping for.
Speaking of jumps, check this out:
Collin Sexton has really found his spot in Utah. After a rocky start to the season, things changed when he got the trust from his coach and was made a starter.
This happened around Christmas, but to keep things equal, this is the jump in just the last 14 games.
He went from 16 and 4 on 34 and a half percent from downtown to 21 points per game along with 6 assists on 47 and half from beyond the arc.
Sexton pointed out that he’s watching a lot of film on opposing defenses this season and this is helping him tremendously in making better decisions with the ball, which translates into way better numbers on the statsheet.
The Jazz will have a tough task to compete in the stacked western conference for a spot in the play-in, but they’re still hanging in there, and are making this race very interesting.
It’s interesting how the improvements from some of these guys persuaded teams to not make a trade at the deadline, but some of the teams that did pull the trigger ended up being a lot better. I analyzed all of that in this video so check it out right here. Talk to you in the next one. Peace out. - Sport
Dlo on the trading block is a demon
The streaky demon
Just keep DLo on the trading block and he'll stay hot. 🤣
@@jpnguyen11Exactly just tell him every other week when his Numbers fall
The problem with DLo is he's been streaky his whole career: I don't believe he can sustain those numbers into the playoffs. For Brunson, OTOH, we don't really know his peak, do we?
The problem with Dlo is he hasn’t been streaky in the playoffs. He’s been consistently mediocre to bad. When defenses lock down and offenses start hunting him on his game doesn’t hold up.
Bro brunson was clutch in 2022 and 2023 had 2 40 point games against d mitch and one against jimmy and averaged 20 pts in 202s with luka😊
@@AaronPlayif he could play off ball better it wouldn’t be as much a problem
True. He could be streaky some times for like 40 games make an allstar game fool us all then look like a back up point gaurd at best the next 40 games lol. I think if he was a consistently good defender it would help hide his bad offensive streaks. But when his shots off he's unplayable cuz his defense is still worse.
He will get picked on in the playoffs and if he goes cold he is useless
My boy Deadline Dlo always proving people wrong, happy he doing better
Deadline D'Lo lol I like it
Lol. I can see his numbers coming back to earth now after this deadline
@@MarcusLeonard307 he always go crazy before the deadline lmao always getting traded, he deadline dlo for now on 😂🤣
@@MrE_ i hope not i started putting him in my parlays again i need that 15 & 3 made 3s every time he play 😂🙏🏾
it's like Playoff P but better...😂😂😂
I fucking love Charlotte's commentator, I wish they were a better team so that we could've listened that guy more.
How about no? Nothing good is coming from an overly enthusiastic commentator
@@sendoh7xawful take
@@sendoh7xyou would rather listen to Doris and her pushing agendas into your eardrum than hear a passionate announcer who’s calling the game without bias. Lmao
I feel like every season fans get carried away with January performances. There's a reason a lot of the crazy scoring happened in Jan throughout history... teams are generally trying new things before the trade deadline/all stars break whilst also trying to stay healthy for the playoffs.
It's probably the least defensive minded part of the season and it shows.
Kudos to those who performed but I'll believe it a lot more if they can keep those numbers up AFTER the break
This is such a casual comment..
@@Drogas3653it’s not. Lbj and AD even sat out a game. we had multiple performances above 60 pts.
That does make sense and that's why act like losing streaks always bad especially when teams making moves, different lineups . Plus January a weird month where kinda middle of the road and then Allstar/trade-line push
Fans get carried away with every performance. Their takes on entire teams and the future of a player changes every night
there are so many lurkers in the league, who just need to be given a chance to shine.
The talent in the league is crazy right now. In fact all over the world we seeing new players became good role players on the NBA.
Also this year draft is amazing
Missed an opportunity to talk Aaron Nesmith , continues to do it defensively night in night out , but is providing offensive outbursts along with 2nd in the league 3pt percentage..
The Pacers picked up so many young and up-and-coming players that couldn't get minutes on contending teams an now they are all blossoming. They're one of my favorite teams because of that
Dlo just needs to be utilized correctly. He's a playmaker, and does best when he controls the ball, not just spotting up to shoot
Hardly happens when Lebron controls the ball and he does want to almost all the time
@chrisramos3454 that works when the game slows down, in the playoffs for instance. Regular season is faster pace, and pace slows down when LeBron is the ball handler. They've had the best results with Dlo being the playmaker, and LeBron playing off ball
@@michaelschwerter9112 and theyve had better results with Lebron off the damn court 💀
Actually not true. Their best lineup is with DLo, LeBron and AD on the court. @@chrisramos3454 makes it easier for Dlo to get open when they can't leave LeBron open
Exactly. Can't tell a play making point to go sit in the corner and wait for the ball. Even CP3 would struggle like that.
It's like when people guve d-lo props he dont live up to it but when we quiet he goes off
Kind of just shows how much pressure there is on these guys especially in LA. At the end of the day they are just normal people and this is their job. Imagine the times at work when you’ve been under pressure or had bag mgmt and then imagine if this was televised and talked about and written everywhere with hate comments telling you are useless. Somebody is going to say “but they’re pro athletes” etc etc but yeah, but also people, and it can be tough to perform at that level. Insane when you think about it.
I loved this video, keep it up ! Love the 3-5 minutes format
Dlo is crazy right now
2:50 the carries are insane
not as bad as Poole carry
we'll see during the playoffs (if ever they get in)
We already saw it last year
I want to see DLo, AR and Rui forever as Lakers
The problem with DLo is that he’s always had these kinds of runs at some point during the season. But he always settles back into who he really is as a player. Hopefully he keeps it up this time.
He worked on his athleticism in the off-season so hopefully he can keep it up.
Lmaoo i remember when the knicks signed brunson for a good 4 year contract i went on ig said this was a stupid move boy he proved me wrong lmaooo
I kind of expected this jump from Sexton, his 20-21 season he averaged like 20+ ppg before he got injured and then Garland broke out so they went and traded him for Donovan. Happy for him ngl
Brunson is definition of a breathe of fresh air. As a Knicks fan, we needed this fr lol
Appreciate it my guy
🤣🤣 almost got me
Dlo is streaky.
He goes on decent runs.
Austin Reaves is clearly the better 3rd option long term.
Agreed. Dlo seems to have a higher ceiling but a much lower floor.
One is a point guard, the other a shooting guard and the 2 guard isn't a ball dominant, rim finisher. They can exist together easy.
The Heat Check channel just becomes the "GOAT" Channel
That 3-pointer of Dlo vs GSW was the deciding factor lol. If he didn't seek that bad play 3 he might be shipped to somewhere now.
Jalen Brunson is unreal
I can still remember laughing at people wanting scoot than miller at comment sections. Where are they now? 😂
Dont count scoot out
@@Felipe-kg8ccScoot is ass.
Kuminga is proving Kerr is so damn wrong, even LeBron acknowledged his talent post game against Golden State.
Hey, I have a question, how do you get the replay clips that u put while talking?
Dlo and miller stand out pretty crazy to me in this video miller since he’s on charlotte and I always root for charlotte since they’re underdogs and dlo cause he’s on my lakers and he’s ready for a chip
Dangelo Russell got roasted by Jamal Murray last playoffs
DLo is the type of guy, you'd believe came up with the term "Just let me cook." 😂
As a laker fan , it was completed expected . We all know what dlo is capable of , and i personally didn"t want to trade him cuz this team just fits . A rookie who played with kobe and the hillbilly kobe . Last year we saw what this backcourt can do and they will dominate in playoff this year too .
that Giannis flop on small Sexton😂
Didn't want to be back in the cold weather lol lol in MN
D Lo and the REFS had a lot to do with it.
Yep, more lakers talk!
I remember all the phony analysts like Nic Wright going out of his way to criticize Charlotte for selecting Miller
DLo staying on court to shootaround after those nuggets games finally paying off
Jalen Brunson might be my new favorite player the last few years. It was shaping up to be Jason Tatum, but Brunson inspires me a lot. Also why does Kuminga look like a tank now? That is why you work!
Kuminga is always strong, just not being utilized properly
Great video
Do on deni avdija please
last year dlo was good until playoff, lets come back here in april/may
Too true
Also how is sabonis not an allstar this year? He has been better than his previous two allstar years and won’t get it this year…
And he's getting a shitload of triple-doubles.
Not popular amongst the fans?
He is European. Media does not like Europeans
I mean with LeBron around with the effect of always trading players wether he signs a new contract with a new team or with the trade deadline, let's see if this works on the playoffs.
Brunson is a killer in the paint. His game is deceptive.
THT face at 3:16
Now that the trade deadline is over I’m sure dlo will go back to normal as he did it to not get traded
Dlo has been consistently inconsistent since day 1. I still don't get why people keep falling for his occasional highlights 😂
Brandon Miller looking like OKC KD
D'AngeLakers Russell
Jaylen brunson plays like prime isiah thomas of celtics
He always does this, then fades in the post (season)
Played good in rnd 1 and 2 , choked in the wcf but let’s not act like he was a negative every series
If dlo ever starts playing bad all you have to do is throw around trade rumors to get him back in top shape😂
DLOOOOOO
Man I'm expecting a cavs video but no one is giving them credit. From 12th in the East in December to 2nd in standings is a better turn around. smh
D-lo is on 🔥 but I don't trust him to be consistent in the long run.
To be honest as a lebron fan, I'm intrigued how will Dlo and Reaves improve themselves next season when lebron leaves next season. I hope we can see a big jump of stats from Reaves
I guess you are a great fan from Lebron's inexistent defense, right? 😂😂😂
I still can't believe the Mavs let go of Brunson just like that lmfao
And people actually think D-Lo's a changed player after this hot streak 🤦🏻♂️ He should've saved this stretch for the play-in/playoffs 🤣💀💀💀
Played good against the warriors and grizzlies
He a point guard that’s not trusted to make decisions take shots. When lebron said do your job it open his gm up to shot more🤷🏾♂️
I'm confident they replaced the original D'Lo by a clone like in the movie "The 6th Day". 100%
DLo x Austin Reeves combo has been more entertaining and enjoyable to watch then LeBron x AD combo
Dlo getting hot in the Regular the just like Embiid with be doing HOUDINI in the Playoffs! whats new?!
Do a vidao about deni avdija
Nice
One of the best bball channels.
Resume of the video: in the last 14 games DLo, Brunson, Miller, Kuminga and Sexton got a lot better
Lakers fans went from "WE DON"T WANT YOU" chants to "MVP" Chants hahaha
Talking about the hottest guys in the league at the moment and not mentioning Kawhi is straight up delousional
When the lakers got DLO everyone knows he can play it’s his massive contract that could be the issue
He’s making 15 m a year and is on a 2 year contract lol that is not big whatsoever by nba standards and ur not gonna find a pg that gives u this production on a contract like that
im a lakers fans his kryptonite is the play offs 😪😴
All this just for DLo to play like hot ass during the playoffs
Deadline DLo Top 5 in the league
As a born and bred southerner, I really don’t like any team from the northeast. That being said, I do like the nicks becoming relevant again. Such a historic franchise should never had been in the gutter for so long.
watch him go like 0-14 today ☠️🙏
If ur referring to dlo he had 11 9 17 and 1 on 50% shooting and only 2 turnovers in his last game before the all star break
He's having a good stretch but when they have to bench him come playoff time again what the laker fans going to say
Kuminga cut his hair and became a star. If he shaves his head, he might become Jordan. lol
In the last game AD was ignoring Hayes and wouldn’t slap him up
Deadline Dlo
Knicks dangerous.... Cmon...
He is good but inconsistent...need to trade now while the value is still high with a legit big man
They tried to Westbrook his ass. You can try to control the narrative all you want but we aren't blind 💯
he felt the incoming trade then boom, he's balling "out"
Trade deadline Dlo fr
3:32 is a clear travel. This extra step after picking up the pivot foot is rampant in the NBA. It's simply not necessary not to call.
Step through
Great time for the lefties!! - Fellow lefty
The problem with d-lo id not his offense. We know he's pretty good. The problem is the defense. Not only he is not a good defensive player , he is also lazy as fuck and not physical at all. And the other issue is that Reaves too is a bad defensive player.
This is the real issue with the Lakers and that's why the tried so many different starting lineups and that's why they wanted dejounte murray, cause he is a two way player, great attacker and very good defensive players, also physical
Unfortunately Gabe got injured cuz he was supposed to fill that role of a 3nd guard and secondary ball handler /playmaker
Deadline DLo 🔥
He's one of those players that comes to play every third game. No thanks
He’s on a great stretch the last few weeks lol, he definitely is streaky but this is what happens when u let him play on the ball
I was watching Spurs highlights from 2012-2014 and Gregg Popovich's schemes would elevate the Lakers to a contender, in my opinion. There is too much talent on that roster for them to be that mediocre and it just has to be the coaching. If you watch their games you can see that they have LeBron, Davis, Russell, Reaves, and Hachimura who can all create their own looks. If they had a solid offensive strategy paired with their ability to bail out their offense with those players they could be Top 5 in offense in the league guaranteed.
Anyway, just my 3 cents.
lakers messed up last time they let dlo go
hornets announcers are the best thing ever
If you want a player like thos to be god, tell him he's gonna be transfered in a small and cold town 😅
D Lo is good now but let's see in a month or the playoffs. He's not gonna sustain this type of play.
No one comments that on the GSW game Dlo was responsible for three bizarre turnovers just before the 3-pointer that allowed the Warriors to get to a much closer score than it should have been.
This dude is bad on defense and has 'questionable' game IQ at times, which probably was the reason Ham moved him away from starters a short while ago.
Dinwiddie is a much better player for tha Lakers, IMO.
Eh dlo is their best 3 pt shooter and 2nd best player playmaker even though technically Spencer is the more efficient playmaker ( his assist turnover ratio is up there with the best in the League) and Spence is a slightly better defender but I think dlo has the edge
Dlo was never the problem, the whole team is inconsistent and relax when Lebron plays.
Please don't tell me he has 10 good games and you're saying he turned it around lmao when hasn't he played like this
King makes his teammates better.
It's not sustainable especially with the physicality of the playoffs.
Russel = 3rd guy.
Reeves = 2nd
AD = 1st
...and if you ask, number 4th is Hashimura
Giannis got crossed and tried to sell it. 😂
He been fire but when it comes to playoff he chokes 😂
He def choked in the conference finals but this narrative that he had a terrible playoff run is just inaccurate. He played well in round 1 and 2 of the playoffs
5:20 - It was a nice move, but it was an offensive foul not a highlight.
