Update:) My life got really complicated and busy. A lot of changes. I hadn't seen my crush in a long time until recently. Now I'm afraid to bump into him because of the stuttery, school-girl way I acted around him before. I'm sure it was really obvious. Yikes. I actually started acting really cold toward him because that's my default when I'm nervous. When I saw him again, he was less friendly and really serious too and so was I. Probably because I keep disappearing and getting busy and not seeing him for weeks or months sometimes. And when I do come around I'm very aloof now. Anyway, it's been 3 years since I first saw him and I don't know why I still feel 13 every time I see him. Why are his eyes so green and why does everything about him make me feel like a deer in the headlights? The one that got away. I'm just too busy. But my feelings for him never change. Maybe next lifetime? Lol :(

Unfortunately life has taken me on a different path, one with many responsibilities and lots of people to take care of. Even if he returned my affections, I doubt I'd have room for someone as special as him in my life -with all the craziness. That's why, sadly, I said maybe next lifetime :( It's a shame. I think too many people mistake quiet and reserved for shy. I was always a quiet kid growing up, but I wasn't shy. I felt totally comfortable talking to a cute girl I just met one on one. People mistook my personality for shyness because I didn't go to a lot of parties, I had zero interest in superficial friendships and meaningless hookups with strangers. Maintained a small social circle to keep out drama and never had to worry about backstabbers. Make sure the shy person you're thinking of is really shy, and not just simply quiet like I am.
There is a guy at my work that does this to me. He ignores me like there is no tomorrow, but talks to every other girl at work. I thought he didn't like me as a person. And I'll catch him staring at me....I'm probably blowing it out of proportion, but I swear I have a shy guy after me. Lol

Your explanation is exactly what a guy did to me at work as well, he did exactly the same things. But then, we quit work, and didn't really talk during summer now, which is because that he said he would be very busy, (which I knew he would be) but asked me if I should stay in the same city we live in when fall arrives. I told him I didn't know back then. And now when I finally arrived home(frome traveling the country with work) I wanted to get in touch with him, but I think I made a mistake by calling him when drunk, ...He was drunk to though, but everything got weird, and after a while I starting to doubt if it was even him I talked to, and then the we hang up, basically. But the weird thing is,: that the day after I was going to contact him on fb, to apologize and everyhting, but found out that he has blocked me!! Why do you guys think he did this?? Miss, I think he was embarrassed he was drunk and didn't like the fact you were also. It was both the call and he probably got offended you didn't stay in touch over the Summer. I was crazy about a girl in high school forty years ago. It too me balls to call her number and her mother picked up. She didn't have guys chasing after her in High School. I wanted to get to know her. She was pretty, blond, blue eyed but a very fat behind. She wasn't pursued and I wasn't a jock, sdtoner whatever in HS. I WAS ME AND HAPPY. She ended up going to prom with a gay guy which I happen to be as well. Now, at ten tear reuinion she showed up alone alone and nkicely dressed b ut heard she was staring at me for about ten minutes. What was that about? I ask a female. I think she then liked me but I wanted an apology. I never treated her badly. I wanted to get to know her. I did find her pretty and perhaps I was wrong because I knew I was gay. She called me in 1998 with caller ID and it was her married name pretending to be be a telemarketer. I knew it was her and played along. Danielle, either he doesn't prefer you but as a male old enough to be your father I suspect he does like you. Ok, wow thanks for the great advice. Not with him, but in my past when I was interested in a guy and tried to talk to him, for some reason words that I don't want to say start coming out of my mouth, and a minute later I seem like a dork and blow my chance. Hitting on guys isn't something I really never do. So I normally try to save face. Why is it all on me and he is allowed to be shy.? I kinda believe that that it should be mutual effort. I'm an easy person to talk to. If we were in the same room at the same time, available , I think we would be just fine. We would at least talk. I have no expectations of anything, I go with the flow. Shy guys are easy to read for me now, I automatically know when shy guys are interested. The trickiest ones are the guys who are extroverts in every other situation except when they like a woman. Their general friendliness is hard to decipher when they are specifically interested in an individual. It is like their kryptonite: women they really are attracted to can't tell the difference between their friendliness or if they are interested.
Got a pretty awesome line (IMO) for my shy friends. It's a free pass when the conversation gets quiet. "Statistically there is a lull in the conversation every 7 minutes." Play a little on that depending if it's been longer, shorter, or about 7 minutes. You can usually get 2 times out of it by saying on the second pause, "Damn, 7 minutes again already?" It may seem stupid, but I'm sure my shy friends could see its use. I've began owning the awkward moments. If I make the conversation uncomfortable, I just tell the people around, "Yeah, I just made the conversation weird, it's what I do. Kinda my hobby!" If my advice helps one person through one conversation, I'll consider that a win.

There's a guy I work with who I have a crush on and I'm not entirely sure if he likes me or not. He walks around my department at least five times whenever I'm working, he'll just walk back and forth, but my friends will tell me that he's not around nearly as much when I'm not working. He's very outgoing when we're in a group setting, but he barely says anything to me when we're by ourselves. He's not rude about it or anything, he just doesn't really say anything to me unless there are other people around. Two of my co-workers tell me that he stares at me whenever I'm around and we'll catch each other's gaze every so often, and if another guy comes to talk to me, he'll kind of stare us both down. I've asked around to see if he acts like that with other girls, but he doesn't, so I don't know what's going on with him.

So, there is a guy I have a crush on. We recently went in a school trip together (it was 5 days long) and he was very lonely and such. There's this guy at work. I just always find him around me whenever we do group huddles and suff. Then there are times during breaks when he would be next to me, look at me like he's trying to say something, then look away. I guess he indirectly tried to talk to me a couple of types when we're with other people because he will say something to the group and look at me for a reaction. So last year I was a senior in high school and my cousin who also went to my school had this friend and I had seen him a couple times and each time I noticed I thought he was really cute, he looked my age but apparently he's 2 years younger. My dad works at the high school as his couch and I would go see the games because I always have and I started to notice that when I would glance at him he would be staring at me and as soon as he saw that I saw him, he would turn away but sometimes he would just stay staring and I would smile but he wouldn't smile back. I sent him a friend request on Facebook one day after their game to say that he played well and he accepted so I msg him and he msgs back and there were about 3 to 4 msgs exchanged until he didn't msg back. My cousin told me that his friend thought I was cute and every time he saw me he would get red in the face and get nervous and wouldn't talk as much and he would still stare at me around school when I saw him. He never talked to me in person but since my cousin said that he was shy and since I'm shy I thought that if I don't make the first move, no one ever will. So I msg him again on Facebook (Facebook; because I get nervous in person lol) and he answers and then I msg and again he doesn't answer but on Facebook messenger it shows you when someone's online or the last time they had been on and it seemed that he was just ignoring my msg so I gave up and thought okay well he doesn't like me so that's fine. And a few days later I'm waiting in the lunch line and a couple of my cousins friends (which is the kid I'm crushing nos best friend) come and cut behind me and one of them was like "oh hey ""s cousin were friends right? You're my friend? " and the kid I was crushing on was like "hey shut up leave her alone" and I replied by saying "no it's okay, at least he talks to me" and the kid just looks at me and his friend chuckles at him. So since then that was the last time I talked to him. My cousin later tells me that the kid doesn't talk to me because he's shy and because he's my cousins friend and my dad is his couch. So he thought it would be weird if we start talking and something goes wrong and then he'd have to be in the middle of everyone. So I was like okay but how does he know that something's going to go wrong and it's all really confusing because first; I have him starring at me all the time and acting nervous and quieter around me. 2nd; my cousin is telling me all these things that the kid tells him but it doesn't always seem true. 3rd, I feel if you like someone you shouldn't care what the bad chances are you should be thinking of the good. At least that's what I do. Idk cause I still like him but now I feel like it wouldn't work out like it would last year because I'm in college now and he's barely in his 2nd year of high school. ( he's 16 almost 17 and I'm 18 almost 19)

Unlucky me fell in love with a shy extrovert. Well, he's a social person, but he once described himself as shy. I doubted him at first, but as I think about it, I realize that he DOES exhibit a few shy, awkward (moreso awkward) traits. He's a little hard to interpret because of the seemingly contradicting nature of the shy extrovert. But the thing is, I swear he has done a number of these things to me before. I'll elaborate... 1. I can't really tell with this one. Sometimes he's comfortable talking to me and other times, well... I don't know if he expects me to talk first (not happening) or something, and I feel really awkward. Also, he used to talk to me more but that's kinda changed recently and he barely says anything to me at all. I just find it unusual because he's a chatterbox in groups, but if it's just us? Barely a word if any. Recently, anyway. 3. This one... I dunno, it seems that way to me. He just seems way closer and more animated with other girls, even ones he's known for the exact same amount of time. Lately he's been WAY different (He used to say "hello" at least, but now I'm lucky if I do, which is out of his usual zone), and I don't know if it's because he's got other things on his mind or if he's doing exactly what was said in this point of the video. I know he doesn't dislike me for a fact; we get along fine. I also hope it isn't because I've suddenly gotten fairly awkward myself and he thinks I don't want to be friends anymore, because that would be sad. 4. OH SWEET HEAVENS THIS IS SO TRUE. THAT IS POINT AND CASE SO HIM. Again, this has been a recent thing. Early on in our friendship he and I carried on some conversation, but lately our interactions with words have been, um... weird. Several times within the past few weeks he's just come up to me and said something, then walked away without letting me reply. I didn't really know what to make of it before, and now this video is playing my paranoia. o.o That's half of these; the other three may or may not apply because either I don't look close enough, or if it's not something he would typically do just because of the sort of person he is. Update:) My life got really complicated and busy. A lot of changes. I hadn't seen my crush in a long time until recently. Now I'm afraid to bump into him because of the stuttery, school-girl way I acted around him before. I'm sure it was really obvious. Yikes. I actually started acting really cold toward him because that's my default when I'm nervous. When I saw him again, he was less friendly and really serious too and so was I. Probably because I keep disappearing and getting busy and not seeing him for weeks or months sometimes. And when I do come around I'm very aloof now. Anyway, it's been 3 years since I first saw him and I don't know why I still feel 13 every time I see him. Why are his eyes so green and why does everything about him make me feel like a deer in the headlights? The one that got away. I'm just too busy. But my feelings for him never change. Maybe next lifetime? Lol :(

Unfortunately life has taken me on a different path, one with many responsibilities and lots of people to take care of. Even if he returned my affections, I doubt I'd have room for someone as special as him in my life -with all the craziness. That's why, sadly, I said maybe next lifetime :( It's a shame. I think too many people mistake quiet and reserved for shy. I was always a quiet kid growing up, but I wasn't shy. I felt totally comfortable talking to a cute girl I just met one on one. People mistook my personality for shyness because I didn't go to a lot of parties, I had zero interest in superficial friendships and meaningless hookups with strangers. Maintained a small social circle to keep out drama and never had to worry about backstabbers. Make sure the shy person you're thinking of is really shy, and not just simply quiet like I am.

Danielle, he likes you but is afraid of an approach. He's afraid of rejection and no doubt is afraid of approaching you at work because he doesn't want other colleagues to know he's interested in you. Your explanation is exactly what a guy did to me at work as well, he did exactly the same things. But then, we quit work, and didn't really talk during summer now, which is because that he said he would be very busy, (which I knew he would be) but asked me if I should stay in the same city we live in when fall arrives. I told him I didn't know back then. And now when I finally arrived home(frome traveling the country with work) I wanted to get in touch with him, but I think I made a mistake by calling him when drunk, ...He was drunk to though, but everything got weird, and after a while I starting to doubt if it was even him I talked to, and then the we hang up, basically. She ended up going to prom with a gay guy which I happen to be as well. I don't think she picked up on it because I REALLY LIKE HER, Yet, she went to prom with a gay uy I knew was gay but never was frienda with. Wouldn't want to be. Now, at ten tear reuinion she showed up alone alone and nkicely dressed b ut heard she was staring at me for about ten minutes. What was that about? I ask a female. I think she then liked me but I wanted an apology. I never treated her badly. I wanted to get to know her. I did find her pretty and perhaps I was wrong because I knew I was gay. She called me in 1998 with caller ID and it was her married name pretending to be be a telemarketer. I knew it was her and played along. I should've lit her up and wished the best for her marriage and man. I genuinely hope she'sd happy and has found a good man. However, it nags me decades later. I so want a woman's opinion. Ok, wow thanks for the great advice. Not with him, but in my past when I was interested in a guy and tried to talk to him, for some reason words that I don't want to say start coming out of my mouth, and a minute later I seem like a dork and blow my chance. Hitting on guys isn't something I really never do. So I normally try to save face. Why is it all on me and he is allowed to be shy.? I kinda believe that that it should be mutual effort. I'm an easy person to talk to. If we were in the same room at the same time, available , I think we would be just fine. We would at least talk. I have no expectations of anything, I go with the flow. Shy guys are easy to read for me now, I automatically know when shy guys are interested. The trickiest ones are the guys who are extroverts in every other situation except when they like a woman. Their general friendliness is hard to decipher when they are specifically interested in an individual. It is like their kryptonite: women they really are attracted to can't tell the difference between their friendliness or if they are interested.

There's a guy I work with who I have a crush on and I'm not entirely sure if he likes me or not. He walks around my department at least five times whenever I'm working, he'll just walk back and forth, but my friends will tell me that he's not around nearly as much when I'm not working. He's very outgoing when we're in a group setting, but he barely says anything to me when we're by ourselves. He's not rude about it or anything, he just doesn't really say anything to me unless there are other people around. Two of my co-workers tell me that he stares at me whenever I'm around and we'll catch each other's gaze every so often, and if another guy comes to talk to me, he'll kind of stare us both down. There's this guy at work. I just always find him around me whenever we do group huddles and suff. Then there are times during breaks when he would be next to me, look at me like he's trying to say something, then look away. I guess he indirectly tried to talk to me a couple of types when we're with other people because he will say something to the group and look at me for a reaction. But here's an odd thing, we have a group chat during work and he's so talkative there when he actually look very shy. He always bring up relationship as a topic. Sometimes I'll acknowledge him just trying to see if he actually likes me. But lately on the group chat he openly flirts with this other girl. I just find it odd that he would do that there instead of just on pm. So now Idk, is he trying to make me jealous or does he not really like me? So last year I was a senior in high school and my cousin who also went to my school had this friend and I had seen him a couple times and each time I noticed I thought he was really cute, he looked my age but apparently he's 2 years younger. My dad works at the high school as his couch and I would go see the games because I always have and I started to notice that when I would glance at him he would be staring at me and as soon as he saw that I saw him, he would turn away but sometimes he would just stay staring and I would smile but he wouldn't smile back. That happened a few times. I told my cousin I thought his friend was cute and he didn't say anything to him, he would just tease me every now and then. I sent him a friend request on Facebook one day after their game to say that he played well and he accepted so I msg him and he msgs back and there were about 3 to 4 msgs exchanged until he didn't msg back. My cousin told me that his friend thought I was cute and every time he saw me he would get red in the face and get nervous and wouldn't talk as much and he would still stare at me around school when I saw him. He never talked to me in person but since my cousin said that he was shy and since I'm shy I thought that if I don't make the first move, no one ever will. So I msg him again on Facebook (Facebook; because I get nervous in person lol) and he answers and then I msg and again he doesn't answer but on Facebook messenger it shows you when someone's online or the last time they had been on and it seemed that he was just ignoring my msg so I gave up and thought okay well he doesn't like me so that's fine. And a few days later I'm waiting in the lunch line and a couple of my cousins friends (which is the kid I'm crushing nos best friend) come and cut behind me and one of them was like "oh hey ""s cousin were friends right? You're my friend? " and the kid I was crushing on was like "hey shut up leave her alone" and I replied by saying "no it's okay, at least he talks to me" and the kid just looks at me and his friend chuckles at him. So since then that was the last time I talked to him. My cousin later tells me that the kid doesn't talk to me because he's shy and because he's my cousins friend and my dad is his couch. So he thought it would be weird if we start talking and something goes wrong and then he'd have to be in the middle of everyone. So I was like okay but how does he know that something's going to go wrong and it's all really confusing because first; I have him starring at me all the time and acting nervous and quieter around me. 2nd; my cousin is telling me all these things that the kid tells him but it doesn't always seem true. 3rd, I feel if you like someone you shouldn't care what the bad chances are you should be thinking of the good. At least that's what I do. Idk cause I still like him but now I feel like it wouldn't work out like it would last year because I'm in college now and he's barely in his 2nd year of high school. ( he's 16 almost 17 and I'm 18 almost 19)

There's a guy at church who took awhile to talk to me. Now he gives me hugs and compliments me. I'm thinking he just wants a friendship so I don't want to come on strong. I think I may have today. I didn't say I was interested but told him I missed him and that's always good to see him. Not sure if I should make any sudden moves. I was told he is shy.

And it's really hard to tell if he's into me or not
Unlucky me fell in love with a shy extrovert. Well, he's a social person, but he once described himself as shy. I doubted him at first, but as I think about it, I realize that he DOES exhibit a few shy, awkward (moreso awkward) traits. He's a little hard to interpret because of the seemingly contradicting nature of the shy extrovert. But the thing is, I swear he has done a number of these things to me before. I'll elaborate...
1. I can't really tell with this one. Sometimes he's comfortable talking to me and other times, well... I don't know if he expects me to talk first (not happening) or something, and I feel really awkward. Also, he used to talk to me more but that's kinda changed recently and he barely says anything to me at all. I just find it unusual because he's a chatterbox in groups, but if it's just us? Barely a word if any. Recently, anyway.
3. This one... I dunno, it seems that way to me. He just seems way closer and more animated with other girls, even ones he's known for the exact same amount of time. Lately he's been WAY different (He used to say "hello" at least, but now I'm lucky if I do, which is out of his usual zone), and I don't know if it's because he's got other things on his mind or if he's doing exactly what was said in this point of the video. I know he doesn't dislike me for a fact; we get along fine. I also hope it isn't because I've suddenly gotten fairly awkward myself and he thinks I don't want to be friends anymore, because that would be sad.
4. OH SWEET HEAVENS THIS IS SO TRUE. THAT IS POINT AND CASE SO HIM. Again, this has been a recent thing. Early on in our friendship he and I carried on some conversation, but lately our interactions with words have been, um... weird. Several times within the past few weeks he's just come up to me and said something, then walked away without letting me reply. And one time we started getting into a conversation and it just ended abruptly because as I was thinking about my response, he started talking to someone else. I didn't really know what to make of it before, and now this video is playing my paranoia. o.o
That's half of these; the other three may or may not apply because either I don't look close enough, or if it's not something he would typically do just because of the sort of person he is. So they're up in the air. I'll try looking for them. X'D
