@@BlueSparxLPsI noticed one in a hotel in Germany just last month. We had to stay in two because our flight got delayed a day (😩) but the first one didn’t have one, I don’t think.

@@BlueSparxLPs Adjoining rooms are very common!! Most hotels have at least a few. They're so people traveling together can go between rooms. Especially for families traveling with children when you either don't fit or don't want to be all in one room. If both parties unlock the door, you can travel freely between. Though, on our cruise, the door automatically locked (there were two doors-- one from each room), so we had to jam some crumpled up paper into the latch so we didn't have to knock constantly.
No, there are tons of hotels in the U.S. with a locked adjacent door. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotel rooms for work and travel and there are more rooms with them than without.

Timey wimey stuff, a mystery involving something normal (the locked door), a fun witty woman with an equally fun and witty name, a Silurian in a suit, and the Doctor stealing the show with food.

Its funny because the Silurians were brought back in Hungry Earth/Cold Blood from series 5 with Matt Smith. That two parter was written by future showrunner Chris Chibnall. Now the Silurians are back with former showrunner Steven Moffat

Nicola Coughlan is currently one of the most famous actresses at the moment. What a great timing and smart move to include her in Doctor Who. Never seen this series before, this will be my first time to watch- all because of Nicola. Can't wait for christmas!

If you do decide to check it out, most people will say to start with the 2005 episode called “Rose”, but I think you can start with wherever looks interesting to you, because if you like it, you can venture out and check out more of the show in any direction! No matter what part you watch first, characters will inevitably mention people, places, or events that you won’t know about, and you’ll probably feel a little lost about what’s exactly going on, but oftentimes those people, places, or events never actually appeared in the show and are just there for flavor and world building lol.
There’s a lot, so take it as you want, and you’re free to go as deep or casually as you want to! It’s a very unique series; there’s nothing else quite like it. I hope you like what you see!

I've always assumed the locked door in hotel rooms is the connecting door to the next room; they unlock when two parties rent two adjacent rooms at the same time and ask specifically to allow contact between the them (which I've actually seen done). Otherwise, yes, it's locked. And can still be used for timey-wimey purposes, of course....

In the best way you can spot a Moffat influenced episode a mile away. We saw old London (Not their era but still felt like it) so I hope that could at least hint at Jenny Strax and Vastra. I miss them and think they would work well in RTD's second era. Liking the look of the Xmas companion. Seems likable. Lonely, not much going on. Exactly the type of person the Doctor the best out in. Very excited
