One of the best story tellers. GE can recite the ingredients on a tooth paste tube and make it sound interesting. Always love to listen.

I saw Bob Dylan with the Dead and Tom Petty a bunch of times in the late 80s. The next time I saw him was with GE & T-Bone's band and holy crap, amazing, as much as I loved Petty & the Dead, Bob was by far, the best he ever was with GE & T-Bone. That's a testament to GE and Tom.

Cool story bro, but it didn't happen. T-Bone didn't join the tour, so you didn't see him and G.E. play with Bob. He already had a gig with Hall & Oates and didn't want to leave to tour with Dylan. Sounds crazy, but it's straight from G.E.'s mouth.

And that was the beginning of Bob's Neverending Tour though Bob wouldn't call it that. Peggy-O is a lovely song. Garcia was playing that song in the early '60s; GD started playing it in '76 or '77. Garcia's vocals and guitar on that song has always been a must-listen for me--just beautiful and haunting.

Regarding the stolen guitar, it was probably the same drug dealer who handed an out of tune acoustic to Keith Richards when he and Ron Wood backed up Bob Dylan later that day. In my experience backstage, the big benefit gigs always are like sieves; just about anybody can find their way onto the stage.
