Kits don't sell. Pay attention to the sales on horizon and tower. Mostly kits because people don't want to build anymore

@@dezfan are you going to buy them all? If they don't sell then there is no reason to make them just to sell a few. For any rc company it takes 6 to 9+ months and around $200,000+ to tool, design, and test before it gets put in production

There is nothing to spool up”. Al the parts are already make. If you want to buy crap RTRs, go for it. I prefer to build custom rigs that fit my needs. If Horizon didn’t try to squeeze every penny out of these with the garbage electronics, I might confide it as I could sell the unwanted bits. As it is, the electronic are worthless. What about the suck ass tires/wheels? The fugly body, I guess I could find some kind of use for it?

The more I see of this truck the more I like it performance wise & it would be a nice project not that I need another one! I just had my TRX Sport Tuck out & it’s almost all stock & it completed a line some of my other more expensive & upgraded RC’s couldn’t so it doesn’t surprise me that the Axial version would be impressive right out of the box. It makes it appealing because you can add so many of your own touches to it. I like it.
I almost grabbed 1 yesterday but decided to hold off a little maybe next week lol

I found that the rtr foams are actually ok foams when the tire matches the foam size. The foam is seriously crammed in those tires or at least on my deadbolt they were.
Box stock Crack O Doom!
Took down Crack o doom like it was nothing. The issues I see with this truck are the easily corrected ill fitting body, but more importantly, the price. It's like they took a page from the Traxxas playbook.
No Traxxas copied Axial on play book . I been rocking Axial since 2008.and have seen Axial do this before kit to rtr plastic links to metal .

put smaller tires on gear it up that way you dont have to cut the body remove the back bumper put a tube bumper on

Just got mine today. Trimmed the body first thing. My first crawler. Gonna go get some rocks from the creek tomorrow and make me some obstacles. When you say turn the steering all the way up what do you mean? The s/r?
Before trimming the body, maybe a slightly smaller tire. Those look fairly large

Do a vis. video of box stock TRX4 Sport against thie Basecamp. This truck is over priced for an entry level crawler. TRX4 is a better truck and much better deal, IMO ofcourse.

I love axial, have several of their rigs but I'm not totally understanding this release. I guess I'd have to price out a builders kit, wheels and tires, electronics and a body? Maybe it makes sense?
They are doing the same thing traxxas did. Release higher end vehicles first then they came out with the trx 4 sport which I think is the biggest competitor for this truck

I want a chassis kit with straight axels and this single speed trans no electrics just chasses, straight axels and single speed nothing else
Are they the same nitto tires as the scx10 iii? If so they will break in and get softer.

I really can't understand the body rubbing from outta' the box, Did Axial not even test this? body rubbing in my opinion is just poor fitment.
"Just a little bit of weight on the, or heavier wheels" Nice lol 60 grams plus beadlocks, be about right... and most of your tire comparisons, the tires are 60 grams off. You like to use other people's ideas, and not give credit to the person.. I'd be careful, USPTO pays attention
Like almost everything except the windows are ugly. They make it look toy grade.
