It's not luck, she was better and more careful and therefore didn't get injured. For example, if vhlova makes a mistake and shiffrin wins, it's not like shiffrin was lucky.... After all, you usually win races because you're the one who made the least mistakes. Shiffrin also won an overall world cup in 2017 with Lara injured in mid-season.
