sick! tip from someone who plays in a shoegaze band, put the reverb (and for me personally any other effects im using excpet delay) BEFORE the distortion, it really helps you lean into the whole wall of noise sound that shoegaze is known for

There is a lot of problems with this kind of stuff. Unfortunately shoegaze is becoming a trend, a lot of kids who know nothing about it that cannot play any instruments now want to make shoegaze and of course is gonna sound like some plastic garbage because its all static midi, no guitar, no pedals knowledge and no skills. This instrumental misses the real essence of the guitar sound, the noises, the strings sounds, the warm and colored sound of a real guitar, it misses dynamicity and creativity. However, what can we expect from people who literally call ''deftones'' or 'quannnic' shoegaze just because of a fuzzy wall of sound lmao
music should be enjoyed by everyone just because it’s becoming a trend doesn’t mean u should shit on everyone who discovered it through said trend also not everyone has money to afford a guitar along with an amp and pedal and much less the stuff necessary to record it learn to enjoy music without trying to ruin it for others just have fun bro
@@turtlecommercial a cheap / second hand guitar is 100/150$ , you dont need an amp you can record with an audio interface so 100$ but i guess if you have a PC with a DAW on it you probably already have it. those are excuses from people who cant play any instruments and dont want to put any effort on it. Dont get me wrong, i like that its becoming recognized, me and my artist friends have been playing since years and we're going up just now that people realized that there's something else than pop / trap music (we also got it inside Spotify editorial playlists), but honestly it makes me mad that people still cant split between shoegaze and just a wall of sound and worse than that not recognizing the difference between real played and original music and garbage midi music that sound like the copy of the copy

parannoul made his album with virtual instruments, and recorded the vocals on an old samsung phone. it's one of the best shoegaze albums i've ever heard, a lot of people agree. so what you use doesn't matter.
