This was one of the coolest conferences I have seen. Israel defending Joe, was beyond awesome. The energy, the respect between all four fighters was refreshing. In the world we've been living in lately, it's great to see some humility, respect and composure.

There's definitely a time and place for those heated conferences but if there's no real bad blood it is refreshing to see the fighters being real and respecting each other instead of trying to cause drama for no reason
Bad blood filled press conferences lose their edge when fighters start beef every. single. time. You need these chill, laid back, honest and respectful interviews more often to stop constant tension and drama from becoming stale and boring.

Covid makes it seem like it was forever ago but it was only two years, I actually started watch the ufc because of covid. ufc was the only sporting event going on during the pandemic

That’s one of the many things I love about MMA. Growing up here in Europe I used to watch a lot of football (soccer) and no offense but the interviews with the players are always extremely uneventful, predictable and straight up boring. If you’ve seen one interview then you’ve seen them all, basically. But with fighters you never know what’s gonna happen, and that’s what makes it so exciting. Everyone has their own unique personality and always makes the interviews and press conferences enjoyable to watch/listen to.

MMA and what UFC has done for it in such a short time is beyond phenomenal and you could write out a paragraph of positive descriptive words for what Dana, the fighters and all the employees (EACH AND EVERYONE) has done for the sport! Love to you all!
Literally the only knock against them is the low percentage of revenue that they pay the fighters
Are you sure about that? Some people out their claim that the UFC monopolized a new up and coming sport to gain a power position in the market to be able to put pressure on fighters and gain the upper hand during contract negotiations. They bought off almost every major competitor in the developing phases of the sport such as Pride, WEC, Strikeforce etc. and designed contracts to actively bind the fighters to the UFC with no expiry date on the contracts whilst also ensuring to take off the sponsorship management from the fighter to the UFC itself but at the same time calling the fighters "free agents".
The UFC most certainly did help the sport to gain publicity in the last twenty years. But I am sure that there is going to come a time where the UFC will hold the sport back and I think we are close to that time. Right at this moment, we are losing so many great athletic talents to different sports because of the practices of the UFC regarding contracts and fighters pay. There is one massive law suit out there, which atleast had the impact that the UFC from 2017 onward did put expiry dates on their contracts.

That’s truly how the ufc is right now, if you’re not a champion in the ufc you’re a nobody in the casual world, the ufc has been growing in numbers like crazy and the athletes that are coming in are also increasing like crazy . maybe you’re right but i see it in a completely point of view, and also think about this, you can tell someone you train mma and they will have no idea what you’re talking about, but if you say you train “ufc” suddenly everyone gets it. the ufc is king and will remain king for a very long time.

Take a look at football (or ig you guys call it soccer): there are several leagues out there that are basically on the same level or at least comparable when it comes to competitiveness, popularity, gross income, athletes pay etc. I am talking about the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 etc. Now imagine during their absolute prime (ca. 1990-2000) the Serie A would buy off all the other leagues (I know that is unthinkable of, but just imagine). BTW it is unthinkable now because the leagues have already developed. Now, back to the UFC. They bought off every major competitor during the developing phases. Imagine they did not and Pride FC would have continued to rise, especially in the Asia region, while the UFC would've rose simultaneously mainly in the US like it did. All of the sudden, we have a competitor and the casuals maybe will know that their are different fighting organization in different areas of the globe. Imagine the same for WEC and Strikeforce, which at the time definitely were holding their ground against the UFC regarding popularity but the owners checked out with money (understandable tho).
AND now, a reeeaallyy big stretch of imagination: They could've started a big ass tournament every year like the fn champions league in football where the best face each other.

They’re literally fighting for a title shot against whoever the winner is in Adesanya/Whittaker. It would of made this press conference that much more entertaining.
