  • Footage I shot back on October 1st, 2010 at the MCAS Miramar Air Show with my old Sony SR11. I originally uploaded the footage in this compilation in 2 separate long videos at the time of the show. The first 2 passes are the pitch-ups prior to the arrival which took place just before 12:30pm. The rest of the video is footage from the DEMO that took place around 1:30pm. The F-22 Raptor pilot is MAJOR DAVE "ZEKE" SKALICKY. Now, watch and enjoy this new short, EXCITING & FAST PACED version !!!

      @@Bahiti-wv7yh Has nothing to do with "supersonic" or any speed for that matter. The same thing will happen to passenger jets taking off and landing at close to stall speeds. The same low-pressure areas over wings is a constant. When you see condensation clouds over airplane wings, yes, with fighters it can be an indication of high-G maneuvers, but it's really just more of an indication that it's a really humid day. lol The low pressure area over the wing is "sucking" the water out of the air.

    • @Bahiti-wv7yh
      @Bahiti-wv7yh Před 2 lety +13

      @@tonyjackson4099 when approaching supersonic speeds there is an increase in air pressure over the wings, this creates a large low pressure area over the wings because there is air being pushed out of the way (higher pressure air) and behind it there is a lot less air (lower pressure). It's fundamentally what is also happening when aircraft pull high angle of attack because air is being forced over the wings.

Moreover, after the Second World War, the United States sheltered German military engineers, instead of judge them by the law of wartime.
      America also happily took advantage of the situation in Russia in the 90s, and lured Russian scientists and engineers, which also gave a huge breakthrough in the technological race. You will not deny that the technologies in the USSR were at a high level, and there were many eminent designers and engineers who immigrated to the United States by invitation? Finally, despite the similarities between American and Russian aircraft, their flight characteristics are very different. These are not copies, as you say, these are different jets. And the external similarities are explained by the fact that the laws of physics are the same for all countries.

    • @AirlinersHD
      @AirlinersHD Před 7 lety +101

      As an aviation expert with pro Russian orientation, i have to say three things.
      1st - This airplane has no match,and not forget that he is in active service from 2006.!
      2nd - If we take Su-57 as closest rival to F-22, I can only say there in not much to say about that issue. No doubt in my mind how short and overpowered that 1vs1 dogfight would be.
      3rd - I think, and remember this comment in 2017., after F-22 I think 6th gen. of fighters would be ultra high manuverbility drones with some other superior tech. Why? Well, I belive that humans no longer can be used as adequate pilots who will be compatible with 6th gen fighter air manuverbility. Maybe even now, F-22 pilots cant pull up what this airplane can handle. Lets face it, future of airplanes (drones) will be in such design, to allow drones to fly as close as possible like NLO in movies. Super fast acceleration&decelaration + unimaginable manuverbility,and humans wont be able to fly those things. Stealth advancing too of course, but world leading contries air deffence sistems will always got its match to stealth. So drones are next and fighter pilots will be pointless in far future. Please like this comment if you agree.
      Thank you all!

      Yea i do believe structurally the f22 could pull off manuvers that the human simply could not handle. The reason the maneuver is impressive is because of the pitch authority and the ability to recover so quickly, the second part speaks volumes of the engines.

It looked like a Christmas ornament hanging from the tree by the nose and making all sorts af awesome thunderous sounds as it hovered there for maybe 10 seconds??? It was amazing. Then, it went to afterburners I think gaining a bit of altitude and planed out parallel to the ground and maybe diving a bit and was gone. I had a former 22 pilot, and his father, a legend in own his right in back country aviation, both at my strip watching while I came back home in my skiplane. Talk about pressure, other than making my usual short uphill landing, what I'm pretty sure neither of them ever saw before was my fast taxi up the ramp onto the concrete pad in front of the hangar, the trick being to do it at just the right speed, and then hold that position with throttle while the wheels came down (retractable wheel skis.) When I shut down, the first thing I said was "bet neither of you have seen something quite like that before," and we all busted out laughing. Since then, anytime I see a F-22 video and what they can do (I was ignorant about them back then) I was really happy I didn't try and impress them with any fancy aerial work!
