  • Im sharing my experience of taking the ferry with an RV from Spain to the Canary Islands, from Huelva to Tenerife, but you can also go from Cadiz directly to Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. I share the process of booking the ferry, what options you have, what I prefer, and what is the cheapest way, Naviera Armas or Fred Olsen. Also, some reminders of what you should do before going to the ferry, such as turning off the propane supply on your RV and remembering to pack your bag since you won't be able to get to the RV during the trip. How it looks on the ferry and how you will sleep if you don't choose a cabin.

For you who also choose to book without a cabin and use the included seats instead, just so you know, there were a lot of people bringing a coolbox with food that they plugged in by the electric outlet by the seat as well as bringing mattresses, blankets, sleeping mats or sleeping bags to sleep better either on the floor or on the seats, so you know that it is common to get comfy on those places too!

Hello, ,I didn't expect to find a video about this route. Nice video. I'll appreciate if you give some info. I want to do the Huelva to Las Palmas I saw the Fred Olsen goes direct there every Tuesday and Friday, Is that true or I change boats? Also is this Las Palmas final destination is the Las Palmas Canary or Las Palma santa cruz?

hello ! Are you sure that on naviera armas, picking "car" - 6m length and height over 2m it means camper? Because when I do that I get a good price, but when using their app or calling them on the phone, there's an option "camper van" and its about 200euros extra. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello! I can't say with 100% certainty since I actually booked via Fred Olsen after spending countless hours on Naviera Armas's website trying to get it right. But I started out by trying to book it as an "autocaravana" as that is the word they usually use in Spain for motorhomes. However, the picture described it as a caravan/trailer, and that didn't work for some reason, if it was because I didn't have a car as well or something similar. I found that I could choose the car option with over 2 meters high and as you say, it started out showing a low price, and as I was booking that and filled in all the information right at the end when I was paying for the trip, then it said it was sold out. My theory is that it was only right at the end it actually checked if it had spaces for higher vehicles. At that time, I gave up on Naviera Armas. I haven't used their app, so if you have the option there directly to choose a camper van, that's probably the price you will need to pay in the end. Although my motorhome is registered as a car (car class 2) and it is over 2 meters high, in my mind, they would not be able to decline the trip if that's what you booked, so I would try that first. With quite a high certainty I think that when you are about to pay for that option some fault or error will show and you will need to pay the 200 euros extra anyway, but I would definitely try to book it as a car and your length of the RV and with the more than 2 meters high option first. 200 euros is always 200 euros!
Hope this was helpful and that you find a good ticket over to the canary islands! It is really nice here!
