  • What does 250 BHP in a lightweight car feel like? AMAZING WHEN The car is running right! I have had lots of positive reactions to my 250 bhp car but it has not been all perfect sailing! I experienced a power loss issue that i spent a while diagnosing which is why i made this video to help everyone! The car now pulls like a train and really happy it is sorted! Now the car has the bigger turbo the turbo flutter that comes out the turbo now sounds amazing along with Hard Accelerations that you see in this video but also defo check out the reaction series i have done:
    make sure to check out the video that is: 250 BHP Abarth 500 Sisters Reaction | Accelerations & Exhaust Sounds From My Abarth 595

    Glad it's all sorted out Stef!
    I've had a random CEL the past 2 days, 3 codes in fact. One is the MAP, the other is low psi and the last one is throttle acuator control system. When it first came on it went into lymph mode, 5 psi. Got to where I was going, shut it off and the light remained after restart but full 18 psi. The next day no light...until 8 got down the road again, along with electronic throttle control, NO driveability issues. Pulled over, turned off the car and upon restart no light for the electronic throttle control, LOL, CEL remained. I then drove to the local auto parts store to have the code read, drove fine, light still on but went into lymph mode at some point. The code reader gets plugged in and then the car is restarted and....NO CEL, LOL. The info was gathered and I got a sheet with the 3 codes. Started the car and no CEL...until a minute later, sitting there and drove home where it boosted just fine.
    I removed my K&N open element air filter and cleaned it and blow dried it and let it sit and lightly re-oiled it. Now it sits for a day until I drive it again, we will see how it goes. I should also mention it's gotten pretty hot outside once again too. I may have to have the throttle body removed and cleaned out next if the issue persists, thanks for reading my mini novel.

    Can confirm your issue Stef, my Abarth was suffering some odd performance issues when I found out the upstream sensor was chewed through by an aftermarket intake that had been rubbing on and eventually consumed through the wires related to the sensor.
    A quick replacement and things were back to proper functioning order! Cheers.

    Great video Stef, I had a similar issue. Basically the AFR (air fuel ratio sensor) is a little bit temperamental on my 500. You get the same situation if you put E85 fuel in without the tune or the injectors to suit. Basically the sensor limits your boost and winds the timing back to help prevent dangerous air/fuel ratios screwing the engine.

    Your kinda lucky, if you ever feel there’s an issue somewhere get it sorted ASAP. That little engine is producing a lot of power and it won’t take kindly to lean conditions.

  • @Ohlukei
    @Ohlukei Před 6 lety +1

    My 595 Turismo series 3 (IHI charger) has an issue from day one (brand new). Sometimes when I press full throttle the turbo pressure falls down to 4,3 psi (0,3 bar) or 5,8 psi (0,4 bar) for three seconds which is almost NOTHING. During that time I get almost no power. On warranty Abarth replaced the wastegate, the boost pressure control valve and the diverter valve with no success. Abarth itself never noticed any issues which made analysing the issue difficulty. Even after an 200 hp modification with a bigger turbo and a completely new, professional software setup this issue is still happening (and some new where at 170 kph and 30 % throttle it often runs far better than at full throttle). Now I always start with 2/3 or 3/4 throttle to avoid the power loss. After two and a half year of searching for the issue and I finally gave up on it. -.-

    Thanks for the great Video. I just got my 500 Abarth and I put a stage 3 Road Race MotorSport mod in the car with a high flow down pipe with Cat and now my engine light goes on, do I need to put the stock cat back on to solve the engine light issue?

  • @fernandonavarretemadrona937

    The lambda sensor needs a high temperature for make a good work (300° C, for that they have a small heater inside) maybe that's the reason because the car didn't work well in winter

    Hi Stef. Thank you very much for sharing this issue on the lambda sensor. I might face the same problem with my 595 Pista. In the beginning it was ok with his standard 160 Hp. Afterwards I noticed that "my guts" started to say "hey it's not as fast anymore as it used to be". Two weeks ago I went to the tuner to do a remapping. But they came to me and asked me "don't you normally need to have 160 Hp and 230 Nm of torque? We can only get it up to 134 Hp and 217 Nm before the remapping". So I was very surprised and angry at the same time on ABARTH. But after the remap it went up to 164 Hp and 314 Nm. A really big change and I was happy again. But now my guts are starting again to say that it's getting slower again... I also noticed that when the car is colder that it's more awake/agressive in accelleration. Sometimes when I stayed for a while around the same rpm and I pushed the accellerator to the metal, he accellerated very slowly. They checked it at the garage but nothing to report. So watching your video now will make me go to the ABARTH garage and tell them that it might be the lambda sensor. If necessary I'll show them your video. I have my Pista from last year october and it is still under garantee. Now I'll be gone for 3 weeks but after that I'll go straight away to the garage and I'll keep you informed about what they'll say. Thanks again for sharing, keep up the great channel, enjoy the ABARTH and until next time! Cheers!
