Your version is one of the most elegant and beautiful takes on the messy bun I've ever seen (like a Tumblr, Pinterest, or Instagram model). When I saw how perfect your messy bun looked in the thumbnail, I hesitated to watch because I thought I'd wind up failing as usual and disappointing myself (I've tried various methods of messy buns without success because my brunette shoulder-length hair is limp, thin, wavy, and frizzy). However, I was pleasantly surprised that after a few tries, I finally made a decent messy bun. So far your method is the only successful one that works for my hair type. Beforehand, my hair would look like a bird's nest or Ms. Trunchbull from Matilda when I'd attempt the messy bun. Haha. I'm happy to say that your tutorial was the first one that didn't waste my time and I thank you. I've never been more grateful for hair advice. :)

I’m an older woman with wavy, frizzy hair and this worked great! It looked really good and hid all my frizz which makes me super happy!
I'm going to try this. My hair is only just past my shoulders but it's very thick. Having it up off my hair is a must for humid summer days. I won't so much say hot, I live near Boston so we don't get hot like Texas dose. But it can get disgustingly humid.

First, gather hair into a high ponytail, then twist it to create a loose bun by wrapping the hair around itself-it should resemble a cinnamon roll. After securing in place with a hair tie and strategically placed bobby pins, pull out sections of your bun to loosen.

This method breaks ur hair and tangles ur hair quicker depending on the rubber band used. It's much easier and less work/ items needed with the half looped method.
