OUHK -Translanguaging as a Theory of Language: Some Conceptual and Methodological Considerations

In this programme, Prof Li Wei, Professor of Applied Linguistics at University College of London, explained the concept of ‘translanguaging’ in detail, which could be studied from both a bilingual pedagogical perspective and a socio-cultural perspective. He also elaborated on how the fundamental distinction between translanguaging and code switching provided different insights into bilingualism.
