I went to the Dominicans once and I asked for rollers and they told me rollers weren’t meant for nappy hair and I tried to explain to them that it would stretch my hair and avoid the high heat from the blow dryer but they were persistent that my hair would not come out correctly with a roller set. This is why I’m in cosmetology school so I can open up a hair shop for natural girls so we don’t have to go through these things

Leggs I have been to some stylists who are rough and can't stand it. When I visited her for the first time I was surprised how gentle she was.
Casual I'm sorry you had to go through that. I honestly would have gotten up and left with a wet head. Lol. But I know how awkward and difficult it can be to say something in the moment. I never went to salons religiously just occasionally. I hate doing my hair. Even washing it is a chore but let me tell you once I took control and started doing it myself it's never been healthier. I do wish I could find a good stylist that I could trust and that actually listens and cares about hair health and growth. It's frustrating and time consuming because you have to literally interview them.

Yes ma'am! I got my hair braided a few weeks ago and my mom's stylist was so rough combing my hair out. I know my hair will be much thinner. She also popped a lot of hairs off when braiding my hair. That's the exact reason I've only been to a stylist 3 times in the last 7 years!

Nowadays these stylist are not like her, they rush on to the next person and mess up your hair and have no knowledge on how to do hair. Grrr wish she is in my town

I've been going to Eden for a few months now and I have already seen a major difference. I have bra strap length natural hair and the entire process is done with so much care. Eden also sells the tension rollers which I've been using at home.

The hair I see is 3 texture or silkier than 4 type hair wondering if the rollers work on tighter curls

chatmickable 😂😂 yes in jersey too. I found a salon she was gentle on my head and was great. The next time I went she had some young girl with broken hair and no edges washing my hair and ripping out my beautiful curls. I was so upset I said never again I will do my own hair.

Like everyone else said, I need an Eden in my life. I get tired of doing my own hair and there are times when I would like to let someone else do it, but they either don't listen, suggest a relaxer, do everything to tight or ignore my pain etc.
I shouldn't leave a salon with less hair due to roughness or damage.
It's a very big achievement to accomplish that much growth. You should feel very proud. GREAT JOB!

This is pretty much a rollerset with magnetic rollers like the Dominicans do. Your hair is so long, pretty and healthy. I love it.

This was a perfect salon technique for straightening hair, Eden did a wonderful job. That roller ser technique decreased the labor time on the technician and prevented lless stress on hair too. This is DEFINITELY an A+ !

I love your straightening process!!! I'm natural but I don't like waiting until years to straighten my hair!!! My grandmother has straighten her hair out like this my whole life!!! Only thing she relaxes her hair and don't need it at all!!!! Love this girly ❤️

HairByPierre She actually is in Atlanta! I traveled there for the World Natural Hair Show and had to go see her while I was in town. And the only thing she put in my hair was water and heat protectant so the shine comes from my hair being healthy and me using the rollers to stretch my hair. Stretching with indirect heat allows my hair cuticles to lay flat and reflect more light, while using a blow dryer raises my cuticles - making my hair frizzy and dull.

Eden is the best! Some stylists think they always know whats best for your hair! I mean come on.... if my hair is that long then i do know what im doing and I definitely know what my hair loves&hates! I am also very specific when I go to the hair salon. :)
Your stylist she really gets it. Some stylist really do what they want and don't care how you feel about what you want. Then they try and sway you into doing something you don't need and tell you its better for you. I'm so glad your stylist is not a hater which I never understood anyway. I just knew the stylist was going to be somewhere across the country. Turns out, she's right in my backyard! You've inspired me. I just purchased some of these rollers. They're not easy to find. I'm sure I bought knockoffs, but hopefully they will work the same way. Did you apply a heat protectant when you rolled your hair?
Terri Boyd all Eden applied was water before rolling my hair but she did apply a heat protectant before straightening. The heat protectant she used was he Kenra Thermal Styling Spray.
PowerInYourCurl Okay, thank you!! Your hair looks gorgeous. I'm hoping keeping mine stretched will give me a break from my curly routine, which gets tiring after awhile. My hair strands are fine, with lots of kinks, or bends, and the strands dip, curve and wrap around each other easily. Unfortunately it's the way the strands grow, so nothing I can do except detangle and wash it weekly. If I do the wet set, then I can wear a stretched style longer than 1 week and get some of my weekend time back, at least for the summer.😉
