They certainly are, but it’s kind of a small niche. It’s not stuff that most people can relate to. Which is all fine, but that is likely the explanation.
Great episode! I just been using the non-qd Warne Xskel mount for the last few years. No bells and whistles but seems solid for a lighter weight mount for a reasonable price.
Gonna miss the old backdrop for the podcast was a nice studio! And your gonna need better light 😂still the best podcast besides the vortex podcast. Keep doing what y’all are doing big fan! Lol
Try a Bobros QD. No screws to adjust, a little tight for gloves, and lever locks are the same. Has ribs. Also, they make ultra low scope and nv/infrared mounts. Mostly AR platform style. Super quick from my lvpo for the house to my day/night hunting scope.
Fantastic episode guys , as usual , very entertaining. Great news on the 6 ARC , I’ve been trying to reach someone to see if there is an email alert list for 75 Vmax. Keep up the good work!
I really want to invest in some larue mounts. T2, Fx6, and a 20 or 25x scope and then store them off the gun. but have a pistol laser/laser on the gun to zero to.
The reason all combat weapons now have high sights is the heat from rapid fire, will cause a mirage and "wiping out" your front sight (this will happen if you put 300 rds out of a garand.) This is even worse under Night vision. high sight setups are useful in certain scenarios. "It all depends on what you are doing." Its funny because the cheapest high mount is an A1 carry handle upper.
Podcast title suggestions: 1. “Haters, featuring Wade and Fitz” 2. “ The sometimes hunting podcast featuring Wade and Fitz” I’ll think of some more later
“Blah blah blah Taylor swift blah blah you can’t afford any of this blah blah we had a great guest but we lost the audio “ featuring Wade and Fitz Best I could come up with Keep up the good work
Despite Fitzy's T Swizzle obsession, I still look forward to this every week. You might say I was able to Shake it Off. 😂😂😂 As far as the name of the podcast, keep it the same. I already bought the t-shirt, lol! And there is so much more to predator hunting than just shooting animals. You guys cover it all. I wish that Sgt of Arms would've been able to be loaded up. Those guys are awesome! Not only are they badass gun makers knowledgeable about hunting, but the customer service was amazing! Eric answered every question I had when I bought my 6mm arc from them. I looked at it the other day, we had almost 50 back and forth conversations. He even helped me tune in my .223 Daniel Defense gun. You guys keep up the great work. Yall have the best content on the interweb.
Thank you for hitting on the mounting either on or partially on the hand guard! I was at the range a month ago and a dude wanted me to help him sight in his scope at 200. He was "close" (his standard) at 100, but waaayyyy off at 200. So much so, he ran out of adjustment on windage. So, I went over to take a look. He had his front ring on the hand guard. This was on a cheap PSA AR-10 (in .308, of course, so there's the explanation of this ridiculous set up). I had to explain to him that those 2 things are constantly moving to each other, never totally aligned, and never mount that way. I then showed him what mount to get, where it should be set at, for eye relief, and how rigid it can be. Then I literally aligned his sight by pulling his hand guard in the direction he needed to shift his point of aim to. Then showed him by simply setting it on its side, that it can get thrown off, by using part of the hand guard as a mounting point, when it gets bumped and is thrown off again. The guy was new to AR's with scopes, had always used iron sights, and needed some help. We still used his separate ring set, but I helped him get it right, with my fix-it sticks set, I keep in my gun case.
Hell I love the podcast just the way it is. If it was just predator hunting talk specifically I may get bored. I even enjoy the random ass conversations about Lord knows what lol
I have high cheek bones as well and like a 1.4 ish mount, no one using an over 1.7 mount is actually hunting, they are just larping and shooting crap ammo at 25 yards
What about mount tilt? A 0 MOA tilt seems applicable for hunting distances, but what about for the longer shots that 6arc is now capable of making? Would you recommend a 20 MOA tilt for a dedicated 6arc SPR?
Its a 110* here in central West Texas.. lol.. if the AC in that house you're in is set that low and its that cold during the day (light shinning threw the blinds) then your the problem Ercot is guna throttle back our electricity ... haha More time hunting less time talking.
At risk of sounding like an idiot, and yes I have considered the potential for messing up the m lok slots, but how dumb would it be to put like a truck bed liner coating on the hand guard?
I still can't believe you have less than 5 thousand subs! You guys are constantly posting quality informative content, thank you.
We certainly appreciate that.

One pro of the previous studio set up is the backdrop is sick.
Great Info! Like the diversity of topics. Keep on trucking.
Watch every episode. Looking forward to future episodes

We will do podcast in that studio as well. And this new one we definitely need to dial in audio and lights .

T Swift lovers would hate the .308.
I enjoy this style, It’s the same type of “smoking & joking” I do with the fellas.

Y'all are awesome! One thing I'd like to point out, you're running a non-qd scope with iron sights. Doesn't make sense to me. See ya soon!

I'm here for the swift talk
Lately ive been buying only 1.5-1.54 height mounts/rings to line up with a clip-on

Do y’all carry all the badger mounts yalls store? 👀
Agreeded with the time stamp, sucks listening to the first 20 min.
What about mount tilt? A 0 MOA tilt seems applicable for hunting distances, but what about for the longer shots that 6arc is now capable of making? Would you recommend a 20 MOA tilt for a dedicated 6arc SPR?
depends on how far you plan on dialing and how much dial the scope has.
^ that , we covered that in first optics mounts episode.
What's a 20 moa mount do for your point blank range?
How much do they weigh? What do you consider heavy?
Have y’all tried the Aero mount?
I have a few on dedicated light weight hunting rigs. Past that I wouldn’t recommend them.

So this why I can’t find a badger mount in stock anywhere lol.
