Thanks for this, well researched and on point! ;)
yoooo cool company!!!
hi fl studioo
Thank you fl studio for always keeping updates free!
very nice keep rocking that fruity loops bro, why was it named like that?
Thank you fl studio... 💚💯♾️ 🎶
I started on FL Studio 4.. i was 16 im 34 now 💯🔒🎹 This was Real nostalgic for me, took me back in history with FL and what I was doing in life during these years... Life going fast
same here ...
Fam, Sammeee
Same bro. Except I was in New York
I use Gargaband iOS, so I have to have an iPad.
i started on FL 8
how does this have such little views?? incredible video man, this will blow up for sure.
small channel and a topic nobody is searching for right now. but it was just shared by FL Studio themselves :)
I'm just now seeing this for the first time.
@@OlivioSarikas If you produce any kind of electronic music it's pretty hard to avoid this video. My algorithm is full of this stuff lol.
@@pricklycats really? i have never seen a video about the history of a daw in my suggested videos
@@OlivioSarikas Yeah and ever since watching this video I've gotten one recommended for Ableton, logic, pro tools, cubase, etc. Lol
hands down, sytrus is like the most underrated plugin ever
Harmor too, I haven't felt the need to buy Serum because Harmor can do all of that.
probably because you need producer edition for sytrus
as for zac, harmor is in all plugins edition
sooo yeah as a fruity edition user i can't actually use those without dropping an amount of money that's more worth upgrading editions with, which i'll probably be doing by 2023 anyway so i can get producer edition.
@@DillyzThe1 Oh, huh, tbh I forgot I have All Plugins Edition. If you're planning on upgrading, now is actually a good time with the Black Friday sale.
@@zacanger true, although i dont want to make my mom use any more money on plugins.
@@zacanger hey i forgot to respond but shortly after i did end up getting producer edition! soundfont player, sytrus, dragging in sound, & recording audio were so worth it!
ofc ik i get things like slicex too but i prefer fruity slicer like 95% of the time lol
Ableton user here. I’ve never really been a fan of the fl workflow but this video has really made me appreciate one of the other sides of the market. It’s great that there is a competitive nature between the major daw companies, as it means the customers always win. This was a really thorough yet digestible video that was a great watch. Earned yourself a sub!
don't worry friend, ableton video in the works!
@@afunnylookingsquash can’t wait to see it!
I have Ableton 12 (I believe) and I don't really like the workflow, don't get me wrong I've made some pretty grand stuff on it, but I use reason /mpc live/maschine /Serato/FL 20, so I can't give Ableton too much time but it's decent
@@marvin469 ableton is only good if you have a midi controller especially an apc or any type of clip launcher, if you only use a mouse and keyboard it sucks
@@niggardlylad2008 I make beats by mouse sometimes, that's how I started but now I prefer making music on pads. I'm probably going to use Ableton to mix , I like the way u get different track colors
This video deserves so much more recognition! It made me remember why I love FL STUDIO so much! Thank you for this masterpiece of a video! SUBSCRIBED 🤟
❤
@@afunnylookingsquash was FL Studio the first music software I remember hearing about it back in 2000 FL Studio and Pro Tools were the first music software I ever heard of
I discovered Anvil Studio in 2001 while looking for a drum machine. I was able to make simple loops and then used Cool Edit Pro for recording audio. I played around with Fruity Loops a couple of years later but I didn’t understand it. I finally got FL 8 and started really learning midi. I fell in love with it and I haven’t used anything since.
Can proudly say I've been a user since version 4 (and I was only 14 years old). 20ish years later I'm on version 20 and killing it in the music game.
Thanks for the awesome video brother
lol I have a similar story, only I was 12 when I first started with fl studio 4,
fl studio was my start to make music by myself. thats one and a half year ago. it is so understandable and well designed im so thankful for its existence and this video!
I started on Fruity Loops 2 but I thought it was only for drum loops. I became strictly FL user when FL 4 came out. On the Imageline site they had a pic of Kanye West using FL and I was a follower of his as a kid when he was known for producing. I think AIR is also infamous in making FLstudio popular because they made it so easy to crack in the early days. Thanks for making this video. You did good.
Ooh a Verified User commented on this video 😮
@@oftenyoutuber4348 who cares, FL Studio themselves commented here which is actually wiiiiild & super dope
@@von... Ooh Von Hassen commented on this video :OOOO 🤯🤯🤯🤯
@@TelPhi_ what can I say, I am a man of the people
Dope video. I started on FL3 and jumped to 7. I got major nostalgia watching this
Damn, I almost forgot about the pattern blocks! Brings back memories.
Really great to see the timeline laid out like this. I've been a fan since 97 and love to support this company!
I Googled, "The History of FL Studio," a month before you made this video in the hopes of finding a cool mini documentary, but I had very little luck. Then boom, did it again today and found this perfect video! Fantastic job. Perfect mixture of visual storytelling and historical detail. Nerdgasms all around.
This is a great video. Brings me back.
Yo bro thanks for this history lesson was awesome to watch
Awesome video keep up the good work !!
Great video. Pretty cool to see the history of the versions. 😎
Nice video! I've been looking for one like this for a long time, and you nailed it!

Thank you for this video
thank you man it s really work
Hope this blows up! Great video
great video, love it
nicely done man. love the video
Ive been in love with fl studio for 22 years. Its amazing to see how its grown to be a leading competitor in the world of daws. I used to get criticism for using it because it wasnt taken seriously early on, but now i have the last laugh because this software is amazing. I feel so vindicated as one of the oribinal fl OGs.
He who laughs last laughs best.
I came onboard with 4 now waiting on 21🥭F or L ife
That’s almost the entire time it existed… 😳
Same here. People used to tell me it was a toy, a gimmick then eventually they asked "wow, you made that on Fruity?". I had it since someone gave me fruity 3 on a data CD and said "try this". I decided to stop getting cracks as I grew up & began seriously using it & could make no excuses about not being able to afford it. To be honest, the lifetime updates alone should be enough of a reason to give this company your money as who do you see doing this, putting people over profit? Plus staying true to their word. I hope the founders are all millionaires!
Version 10 came out on my birthday 🎂
Awesome video.
man this is so underrated. so cool to see the history of the daw i call home explained with such high quality and detail. a very deserved sub from me man keep up the great work.
9:52 Hey that’s me!! ✌🏻

broooo, this video was so nostalgic!
Thanks a bunch for making this dude, so cool to see the evolution of FL.
I personally came across FL Studio when they were at Version 9 and since then I've never looked back, Genuinely don't know where I would be right now or what I would be doing if it wasn't for this DAW (Seriously, it changed my life.)

Omgosh, thanks for this upload💚...( New sub 🙂)
Nice video 👍
I've been making music with FL since I was 11 (28 now), and the first version I used was FL 9. I have made probably over 200+ songs in that time which is crazy like I can't wait for FL 21 to release next year!
Just curious do you have any idea f your music posted
So since 2005?
Next year eh? Using it now! 😁
OK it has a few little quirks but I'm sure it is close to finished.
21 just dropped today
loved this video
Top tier quality video. Surely cover Garadgeband next!
Thanks :) I've made a video on GarageBand already! You can see it on my channel :)
Started in 2013/14 with fl 11 and after few tries I deleted it but friend of mine was using it and told me to try again. I did and I learned a few things and started loving. Didn't use for too long and then fl 12 came and everything became easier and better and more fun. I'm at 21 version rn and it's getting better and better by every update. Thank you Image Line,we love you!!
Switched to FL Studio yesterday and I've been really interested into learning more about the software itself and the community around it. Very informative and entertaining video! Keep it up!
Great video, very informative! This will slowly pick up on views my friend!

thank you it actually works you're a king
Awesome video.
I got FL 3 in 2001 Dec, I heard a dude playing a CD in 2000 he said he made the beats on FL 2 and they were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
There was soooooooooooo little information on how to use the DAW. I learned as much as I could but until utube really came along ppl had no clue of how deep those programs could go.
FL 11 was my favorite
Thanks for this documentary. I'm glad the new generation got this information
Good vid bro
I still remember exactly what you were talking about with FL 11 to FL 12, I even remember having to remake a couple of my FL 12 projects in FL 11 for collabs because some of my friends were still using FL 11. I wasn't an early adopter for FL 12 but I did eventually get there maybe 2017? I think watching the SeamlessR's FL12 tutorial. Once I got the hang of it I'd never go back to 11 though if I had the choice. I've been on 20 since it came out and its definitely the best. Great video by the way.
