  • When creating a chord progression, I recommend a strategy called "shopping for emotions". There are many tools out there to assist those of us who are not gifted instrumentalists, one of which is the Reason Studios Chord Sequencer. Let's look at how to use such a tool in practice & set ourselves up for some beautiful techno arps.

these reason players have been life changing for me, lost the use of left hand and these are like disability assistive devices making music possible and fun again! randomly checked the reason site last night to see if anything was new on m1 compatibility but bought this without even watching a video, its exactly what I need, I'm having fun combining it with the arp and note echo with it. think I might do a video about the disability angle of the players to hopefully spark more ideas over in Sweden.

2:35 is so important. There are a lot of people in the electronic music all over the genres. They do that for more then 20 years and very well, They cant play any instrument even today. IT is not nessassary, most important, is the joy of lerning about how and doing it. Thats and practice is all you need.

This is a fantastic plugin for learning and getting you so far
but it will eventually hold you back. because you will get to
a point where you will be playing too many straight chords
all the time. there are a lot of musical pieces that have a lot
of inversions as well as other ways of playing straight chords
and sometimes you don't have to play all the notes at the
same time you can stager the notes that make up a chord
and play each note individually any way you like to a certain
pattern this will also learn how to play leads as well.
You would never find out or even try these techniques out
with this plugin. the best way how to learn chords which
is the easiest thing to learn. is to get a good chord book
learn all the chords and keys and experiment with not
just straight chords but inversions the lot. you can also
buy Synthesia and slow it down and look what notes are
playing and study how chords and songs are put together
you will be very surprised how clever some of these chord
progressions are and leads. you would never learn that with
      this plugin.

extremely unhappy with how this plug-in was designed. first of all all of the names of the cord sets in the presets are completely meaningless. many of them don't even suggest any sort of emotion. the next thing that bothers me is it's really just a big curated collection of chords that in the opinions of the people who put together the plug-in sound good together. if you use the court explorer it takes me in directions that I would never use. I really thought this was going to be a more parametric way to explore chords in other words choose a key choose a mode and then you tell it whether you want the cords to feel more or less tension more happy or more sad etc. it does none of that. it is not algorithmic. you're stuck with the chords and cord sets they gave you. and before you suggest that you can program in your own chords, if You know chords well enough to program in your own, you don't need this plug-in.
