Where will Vanya’s powers take her in season two of The Umbrella Academy?
At the end of season one of Netflix’s smash hit The Umbrella Academy, Vanya is revealed to be the most powerful of all seven of her adopted siblings. We also discovered that her whole family had kept Vanya’s powers hidden from her. Why? Did they not want to be outshined? Was it for their own protection? Or hers?
We’re going to comb through season one as well as Gerard Way and Gabiel Ba’s comic books to snoop around and find out just what exactly her powers consist of, and what exactly Sir Reginald, Allison, and the rest of the family were so afraid of with regards to Vanya, as well as where they will take us in the much anticipated season two.

2:18 The Hargreeves family were NOT all in on it - to hide Vanya's power. Only Reginald knows, but since he decided Vanya is too volatile and not able to control her tremendous power, he made the very young Allison to use her power to suppress Vanya - which is a crucial point. Allison was not "in-on-it" either to decide she needs to suppress Vanya's power, at that young age, she just did what her "father" told her to do, not even understanding the importance & consequences of doing so. Pogo is probably the only other adult at that time to collaborate with Reginald, or at least did not (or able to) stop Reginald from doing so due to his loyalty and his sense of being in-debt to Reginald. Not sure if Pogo at least voiced his opposition to the idea, I imagine he would but definitely failed to convince the stubborn Reginald. Would love to see maybe some flashbacks in the show in the future to elaborate that.

Here’s a short way to put it. The Electromagnetic spectrum consists of things that all function off of wavelengths. Sound is a wavelength and from there, we go Gamma. Vanya is able to convert sound into Energy and Electromagnetic Energy. This explains how she’s able to move things as where it looks like Telekinesis, she’s creating electromagnetic fields from sound to move things.
Her powers have to do with sound.

Ugly Rat sorry by “gender fluid” I just mean he doesn’t conform to gender norms (i.e. wearing skirts and glitter and makeup and things like that). I definitely think he still identifies as a cis-male, I’m just saying he isn’t afraid to step outside of gender norms and I don’t think he would be offended by someone assuming he was a woman (he would probably just think it’s funny lol).

I think that the rain was just used for storytelling, to set the mood. All those moments were tense and the rain was probably put there to portray that. Also, it looked cool when it was a bubble. Pure cinematography
