      Try riding one with stripped off plastic, no luggage, and with open exhaust! Rides COMPLETELY different.

      @Johnclark300 Před 11 měsíci

      @maxmeeks9910 either way it's nothing but engine, that thing would easily take a challenger no problem off the line.

      @@Johnclark300 For me, the smoothness of the ride is a huge value. It is a fairly heavy bike, probably too much for new riders. However, I was reasoning with a coworker to test ride one before getting tied into a $250+ monthly payment for a Harly.

    If it's an 2006, why does it have 2004 plastic on it? 2006's were black! I started on ST1300s back in November with a new 2005. I put over 174.3K miles on it before selling it to one of my sons. He has over 190K on it now. I've owned four other ST1300s and have a total of over 398,000 miles on the 5 of them! I still own a 2012 (was black, turned it 2005 red - ALL NEW PLASTIC) & a 2004 (blue). Hope you are still enjoying your ST1300!

    Cool! But you need to refill rear shock pre-load. It shouldn't spin so easily, especially on a sidestand (when shock has load). There is a number of YT videos how to do it.

    I owned one for a short time traded for a goldwing. Big mistake. About two years ago I started looking for an another nice used st but I wasn’t having any luck. I knew about the Fjr 1300 and was seeing about the same amount of those on occasion. Last summer I found a clean 2007 Fjr with low mileage and bought that instead of the Honda. After now having had both I can tell you there is a slight difference between the two bikes in performance. The fjr is a little more sport and the st is a little more touring. Both are comfortable. I’m just curious but why didn’t you go with an Fjr? They still make them.

    • @ohiobackroads1548
      @ohiobackroads1548  Před 7 měsíci

      There's no reason. I purchased 5 ST 1300s last year. They were located close to home and just lucky to find clean low mileage bikes. I'm not looking, but there is a one owner st 1300 close to me that is for sale and only has 4000 miles. My next bike will be a Goldwing DCT.

      St leans heavily into the touring in sport touring
      Fjr leans into the sport in sport touring 🤷🏼‍♂️ both are great in their own respects
