No it isn't I prefer the idea of controversial goals after human judgement and error, the players shouldn't be punished for inept officiating. VAR seems to think having a toenail offside makes you offside which is of course totally nonsense, this was a classic example of what truly offside means and if a linesman cannot spot that he should probably be booking an appointment at Specsavers.

Sunderland fan here: Leeds are the best team I've seen in the Champ this season and they deserve to go up ahead of Leicester. They're scary going forward and exciting to watch, as opposed to Leicester who, without Vardy, would be a mid-table side. Boro had a rough start to the season but have been excellent in the latter stages. Should've been nailed-on for the playoffs. Great game for the neutral.

"Today's game" is not a concept applicable to the Championshp. It all depends on the ref you get 😂 Anyway, that's a fair challenge. Not even Gnonto complained, I don't think he falls due to the push bur rather the challenge on the ball.
Why were the announcers so down on the keeper for that one goal? It was brilliant. Hard, curling shot, cut back against the net, shot between two defenders which were screening the keeper? That was rough!
Because the two defenders and Gnonto were all running in opposite directions the moment the ball was passed and he was onside until that last moment when the pass was made, and linesmen aren't perfect, especially when other players (i.e. Bamford in this case) are obstructing their view. I'm actually impressed that assistant refs get their offside calls right as often as they do. Every team gets bad/lucky calls over a season.
Boro's 3rd choice reserve full backs were poor. If Ayling had been allowed to play and Engel was fit at left back then I think a couple of goals for Leeds would not have happened.
Leeds scored one, maybe two goals which were far further offside than Coventry's 'winner' on Sunday. VAR is a curse on the game; or is it bad officials?
