Very nice, a small road instead of a full fledged highway as your initial connection. Love it!
True, but it is a service Interchange which might be a bit big :/
It always annoyed me how the starting connection was almost always overbuilt to the point where I eagerly downgrade it to a regular exit.
Not sure how realistic it is but something I'd love is for the start tile to just have a country road running through it instead of a dead end and either you buiild a simple exit into the town, or just upgrade it into your initial collector and build straight off of it.
I would actually like to see maps with no highways, just single carriageway roads/national roads to connect the region initially. Which is more realistic since then towns can develop around these roads, using them as high streets which then grow and merge to form a city. Then when the city is big enough and warrants them, highways can be added and be built around the geography of the city, rather than the other way around, where a city is built around a highway, which isn't realistic. It wasn't possible in CS1, but now in CS2 you can add outside connections so it is. It looks like I'll have to make my own highway free starting maps tho, as they all seems to have them
@@medafan53Very few cities have started from a highway interchange, even the newest Western cities usually started from national roads or railroad stations. If anything it’s more realistic. Workshop maps for the first game can start with small roads, so I hope it’s possible in CS2 as well
I like in CS2 you are encouraged to build your road layout initially, instead of a few dirt roads to keep costs down. Also utilities are under the roads, where they belong, as some would say : )
My thoughts exactly. Especially with dirt roads in C:S1 being ever so slightly narrower than regular roads, which results in the rebuilding of zoned buildings and need to move service buildings, once you start replacing the curves. Also, I'm very "visual" in that I have a problem imagining what I'd like my city to look like when unable to "draw" on the map. There's a mod that adds free, colorful roads in C:S1 for planning purposes, but I'm glad to see it won't be needed in C:S2. The release cannot arrive fast enough.
I cannot wait to cities skylines II! I’ve been a faithful city skylines player since 2018. I love love LOVE this game.
I can’t wait either, been playing CS I since 2020 and I love it
@@GamingBren me too lmao. Imagine those who’ve been waiting longer how excited they are
Can’t wait too. Hopefully there’ll be also regular updates to include more functionality as ppl start to play it
Rip to this guy
@@jackvismara Oh boy, were you in for a disappointment.
I can't wait to be playing this soon!
The tutorials are coming out, almost time to get the game! I don't expect the game to be perfect out of the box, no game is, but I am looking forward to a new city builder like this!
I hear u but we should be holding big corporations to the standard that we want, not excuse shortcomings due to hype.
@@eclipsek0 That ignores the fact that rollercoaster Tycoon was a much simpler game to code.
Wow! He truly created the City Skyline!
When he said its citying time and citied all over the place I came
And what about when he said "this is the skyline, the cities skylines 2" at the end, i cried tears of joy and was hospitalized following a seizure
Skyler, I am not in Cities Skylines 2 I am the Cities Skylines 2. bravo vince, bravo!
"Every city has its skyline"
- John Darksoul
"it's skyline time!"
By far, one of the most exciting 'little things' about cities skylines 2 vs the original... Starting your city without 2 highways coming in when you don't even have highways unlocked to extend them!
I always hated that
I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THIS GAME! FIRST TIME I'VE PREORDERED A GAME IN A WHILE AND I JUST WANT IT TO BE THE END OF THE MONTH ALREADY!
I too feel unable to sit still waiting for the game.
WHY ARE YOU SCREAMING?
@@felix166 BECAUSE IM EXCITED I CANNOT WAIT!!!
@@ethanisanactor OK I SEE!
POV: your trying to show off CS2 but chirper does what chirper does and becomes a fault finder.
I can't wait!!! I was wondering if gaps between buildings on curve roads will be fixed, so it can be one lay-out of buildings on curve roads 😊
As a console player, I'm gutted we have to wait longer, I've kept my pre-order in, but looks like I'll be spending the first 4-6 months watching others play on CZcams 😢 hopefully it'll be worth the wait, so far, it's looking epic!!!! 😊 having experienced failed launches in the past (BF2042 for example), I am kinda pleased CO have made the call to delay instead of disappoint with an unplayable game, bitter sweet for sure, but should be worth it 👌
Do you think the Game will run on good performance on the PS5?
@@marcischleimmux192 I certainly hope so 🤞 that's the platform I've preordered on.
My preorder was refunded by PS as they removed it from the PS store apparently. I do hope we'll still get the preorder bonus when it comes out eventually.
@@LPfactor I did it through Amazon, i'm a little old fashioned and like a disk 😀 They emailed offering a refund or saying I can leave it in, Amazon currently have a place holder delivery of 2 Jan 25, I hope we get it much sooner with the release maps and maybe a cheeky DLC thrown in would be good 🤣
@@jasonstephenson7820I had C:S on disk but had to buy the digital version to be able to get the Remastered edition with all the DLCs I purchased so I officially said goodbye to the disk.
Can't wait to play in - wait, up to 9 months. Thanks Paradox
A very pleasant introduction, a good watch and just long enough.
I would love a Planning Mode, so you can plan out your roads for future development until you have funds. As this would save money incase you need to make changes.
Pipelines beneath the roads, right where they belong, said a great man once.
I hope that, by CS3, we can place zones in polygonal shapes and buildings become a lot more procedurally generated.
CS3 will come in about 10 - 15 years
@@Spider-Man62probably 8-9 years
So glad we got roundabouts like these, it's so much easier.
I have over a thousand hours in cities skylines but I still love to watch tutorials. I think I’ll need them for this game
Nice changes. I like the progression system from what I have seen from this video. I pre-ordered the game and was just about to jump in but I thought I would check out your videos. I wasn't really expecting to see the technology tree style of opening developments and I love it! And the design tools look to be well upgraded as well. And there's not enough that can be said about how beautiful the game looks. I have heard that there are currently system issues. I dropped a $100 or the pre-purchase, so that speaks to the faith I have in you guys. I never paid that much for a video game and I've only pre-ordered one time and I was completely disappointed in that I couldn't even play it. So, don't let me down guys!
Looks great!
I haven’t played the first game, but I think now that part 2 is coming out, it is the perfect time to start.
I can already imagine the number of videos when it comes out
Really looking forward to it! Tempting to take a day or 2 off of work right at the release, But I think I'm going to wait a few weeks for that. We all know about v1.0 software!
I pre ordered it yesterday. Can’t wait to start playing cs2. So excited.
I preordered this back in June and I’m just counting down the days till the 24th !!!!!!! But the more dev diaries I see the more I worry it’s going to be too much for my potato pc 😂😂
What are your specs
ryzen 5 CPU
Radeon 580 series GPU
32gb of ram
@@Frank-ru5im
yo también estoy preocupado 😂, mis especificaciones son "AMD FX8350" y una "Nvidia geforce 1650 super" 😬🖥♨🔥🎗
I still remember like it was yesterday when CS1 came out, and i started building and i was amazed about the scale of it all.
So much changed over the years, more and more detail was added by mods it was amazing, but i love to start that journey all over again!
Really helpful video. Thanks! I cannot wait to play this game! :D
One thing on my wishlist for CSII is the ability to toggle zoning tiles on road segments for more control over which roads buildings attach to.
I’m so excited!! I’m ready to start playing as soon as it is released!!!
So happy to see that video!!!
Nice! Also helpful for mentioning the diffrences in the two games
Shoutout to Timeister, frfr. Bro is a great creator, great to see him spotlighted like this. I CANT WAIT FOR THIS DAMN GAME.
Wow, cant wait for the release!!!
I have been waiting for this game since so long. Its going to be amazing!
So excited for this game. First time that I will be getting a new City Simulator on release date. Was late to the party for SimCity 2013 and for Cities Skylines 1.
I remember when I was at highschool in 2016 and couldn't even afford the base game (my parents would not lend me any debit card for such a purpose). Now things have changed and I already prepurchased its secuel ultimate edition 🥰
Thanks for another video!
Wow, I wish I could use this information on the 24th but you guys pushed back the release date for console for like half a year 😀
This was so good!!! Inspiring future content ideas
This is great!!! Kinda like a tutorial before the game release, so when the games comes out, we don’t start look at CZcams for guides XD
Love how it doesn’t seem so scary and tedious to start a new city. Probably gonna buy.
Man, I can’t wait to explore this new game!
Thanks OP. What I found helps with performance on my mini is to switch from full screen to "windowed" full screen. Set Depth of field and Volumetricks Quality to disabled. Set Level of Detail to very low and turn off motion blur.
That little village looks amazing... so realistic looking
So nice to see Timeister !
Very nice. WATCHING SO MANY CZcamsRS ABOUT CS2 since you gave them early access. Would love it if early access could be given to preorders.
Ive been counting down the days ever since the release date was announced! Its almost here!!! So excited :)
Same! I've literally had a countdown on my phone since the announcement.
cant wait!!! :)
Love to see smaller creators getting some spotlight here!
Thank you for making tutorials on how to start! I thought I needed to rely on the CZcamsrs for this one! 😂
i already took a day off of work on the 25th. i cant wait, this game looks so great.
Very helpful. Haven’t played since 2016 so I’ll need all the tips I can get.
This is great!
I CANT WAIT ANYMORE!!
I can't wait for this game. I wasn't really interested in CS1, but this has my interest.
Cannot wait to add this game to the library and do a livestream series. Great stuff as always!
Really looking forward to this
WELL DONE CONGRATS ON 300K SUBS 🎉❤
About 2 weeks away, I am very hyped. Got the game ready via PC Gamepass gonna buy the deluxe edition on Steam when I get paid. on the 3rd.
Looks amazing ❤ hopefully there will be an option to have power lines above ground like in most rural areas around the world
Can't wait to play it.. 🎉🎉
Amazing!
CO are such cool devs. This hype cycle from the perspective of high profile community members is just fantastic.
I like the new features. Mods always confused me, esp the road ones. Having everything built in so i can make those roundabouts easily is looking super nice. I cant wait man.
Such a pleasant voice I could listen to him all day.
Very nice Tutorial, thank you!
Playing right now and after the updates everything seems fine! I like it a lot! Almost plays like simcity but then better and with stunning graphics! Love it so far!
And thx for the short tutorial helped a lot!
So glad to hear! 😊
cant wait to finally play it by myself
9 days left. I've already pre-purchased the premium version. I can't wait
I too am very much looking forward to the game preordered as soon as I saw it also booked time off work lol only concern is the late change in system specs makes me concerned for optimisation!
cant wait to play it ASAP
I'm a public transport guy, I can't wait to experiment the factors of Comfort, Price, Distance, etc.
edit: will the wind change direction for realism?
No change.
I can’t wait to build a tram line. Then select a team and just watch the whole trip.
Awesome!!!!
I can't wait to for City Skylines 2 and listen to the radio stations!! I wish music of CS2 get added to Amazon music similar to Spotify...
Good video! 👍 Thanks!
can’t wait
Tendré que esperar hasta primavera para poder jugarlo en consola 😢 lo estaba esperando con muchas ganas.
I have over 300 hours in CS1 and I am ridiculously excited for CS2. I am going to keep playing CS1 -- it holds the special place in my heart of the best city builder I've ever played. Love it. One question: What DLCs are coming out for CS2 (that are announced)? Keep it up!
Oh don’t worry bud. The DLCs will be definitely come
There is a road map for the DLCs although the release date might change due to the console delay
So according to Steam for DLC: there will be a San Francisco set the day the game comes out (you get it with the Ultimate Edition.) Later this year will be a Beach Properties asset pack. Next year is Urban Promenades and Modern Architecture content packs, and then a Bridges and Ports expansion pack. And a bunch of radio stations for the game too.
Hope that helps 👍
Could we get an option to CHOOSE the initial tile? so that one can start on different parts of the maps? That first tile being a special one of tile that automatically connects to the nearest highway and powerline?
I hope the construction animation changes for houses. The solo huge crane on blank soil looks a little lackluster.
Exactly! the only thing it needs for perfection
True. Small buildings like low density residential and commercial should use scaffoldings like the original CS did, then high rise buildings should use the tower cranes. And yes, some extra detail on construction processes would be great.
can't wait for release
Now: Take my money and lauch it!!!!!!!!!
After calm down: A lot of DLC are ready to go.
Make sure this is part of tutorial videos reachable from game menu, and you guys won.
I hope for some maps where you don't have highways running through. Cities usually started as villages that started typically near an inn or near a river and grew from there
I will play it this way. Only a few industries, housing, some places to buy stuff. Then let it grow, street by street. Small streets. Then reorganize and expand. I wont start with a basic empty layout. Services will be imported.
I just do hope we see more house variations once the game releases. CS Vanilla had a lot of nice variations to it - from all videos so far it all looks the same. Can´t wait... but the days of waiting are over soon. Thx all.
There should be an option to have above power lines on the roads when placing them.
Or possibly in one of the achievements/ leveling up unlock below power lines.
Otherwise what’s the point of above power lines
Very nice. However, based on the videos I have watched, I would look for groundwater/natural resources and wind direction before placing any roads.
Saying that traffic determines pathing including congestion/traffic is more than enough reason for me to buy this game. It drove me nuts how I could have multiple roads between city sectors and everybody would sit in a line at a single road instead.
Wow can't wait to play someday next year I'm hoping
great vid-small correction- In CS1, traffic arguably didn't choose the shortest route, but rather preferred roads with the highest speed limits, no matter the congestion
You didn’t make the game you don’t know that
I would say that falls into the category of the "shortest route" meaning "shortest in time based on speed regardless of traffic"
I am so excited
Counting the days, beyond hyped for CS2
Same been a loyal cities skylines player since 2015
OMG I cannot wait for this game.
Great video.
This game is gonna be amazing 😊
The soundtrack is soo relaxing😊
Thanks for the information
Nice!
This game is going to be the game of the year. Change my mind!
I Love this vidio!
Thanks!
This. Looks. So. GREAT! But please add back the zooning tool, I haven't seen it on the roads tool set. 👀
