Great listing about the hidden gems of Taos. Thanks for sharing!
It's so cute how your kitty follows you on the trail.
Lol. I stumbled upon this video while researching an upcoming trip. I have been watching your sailing videos for a couple of years. I was shocked to hear Jason and Nikki's voices when it started.
One of the most underrated places in the southwest imo! I feel like not many people know about that beautiful town can’t wait to go in October!
Mark Sinclair I take my family to Taos and Santa Fe at least once a year. It definitely is a hidden gem.
Plenty of people know about it the streets get packed and more packed every summer a lot of ppl love Taos nm and no in general
My mom and her family is from TAOS ❤❤❤
Fabulous! You two have such a talent! I'm so jealous I can't wait to go there sometime. The food and spirits look refreshing and scrumptious! Thanks for the tour!
Deep in the heart of the " Land of Enchantment" (magic) lies Taos New Mexico. Soul of the southwest.
Poets, artists, musicians, mystics, Mexicans, Spanairds, cowboys Indians and everyone else you can possibly think of occupy this small area in the backcountry of New Mexico.
"Land of Enchantment" is the only place in America that is not like every other place in America.
A belated welcome to my state of New Mexico. Looks like you enjoyed yourselves here. Next time you're in the area you HAVE to visit the village of Madrid, NM and the natural volcanic hot springs of Ojo Caliente.
I am from MA and I did go to Madrid last week, it has some awesome art galleries!
I am a new subscriber; I'm blown away by the quality of your videos, this work looks so big budget! We are throwing this up on the big HDTV to watch the whole series! Absolutely love this channel.
+Carol Powers awe thanks Carol! We work hard, play hard and super happy to hear you are loving what we do! - nikki
Gone with the Wynns
Please come back and make some more wonderful camping videos like this.
I just subscribed to your channel and I have to say, I love it! You both are a great couple, and although we’ve never met you guys, you feel like friends of ours. Look forward to going though all your videos and experiencing all your adventures.
i love the sped up footage. i do that all the time in my vids. your production quality is very high!
I was born in taos I love it 😻
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video!
Looks like loads of fun!
Great vid! Love hot springs!! Food looked awesome!!
Yeah.... none of that food is Taoseño though. Looked good but you could go down the street in the city and have that kind of food.
Thank you foe the wonderful video. I’ll be in Toas soon a an can’t wait to check out all those great places!
We LOVE Taos! But note that it's not exactly for everyone-- it may even scare some people off. Taos lives at a much higher level of consciousness than most but it's also very welcoming and accepting of those who are not quite there... yet.
You guys are awesome and I love your videos.
Been there many times cause its basically in my backyard. GREAT VIDEO!
Hit or miss my ass! Its an amazing place no matter where you go.
Tel me more. I may be going this weekend just to explore
I cannot wait for our trip to Taos!!!
My greetings to Arroyo Seco. I miss you every day!
Looks like a nice place to add to the travel log
HOT springs I hope! I was thinking of flying into either ABQ or SAF this weekend and just driving and hiking alone since my lady can’t come. Was also considering Sedona but I’ve been there already, and haven’t spent time in NM.
Hey guys, thanks for sharing!!!
GREAT VIDEO
LOVE YOU GUYS
Woah... I'm in for that last gem. That is beyond cool.
Awesome video! Ohhh NO! You missed the Earthships! Surely you saw them!
passed by there 3 weeks ago going to cali
We love Taos!
This was an awesome list
Awesome video!
Planning a few days out in the class B next week in the Taos area. I have to get out of this Texas, triple digit heat. I'm loading up the bicycles and plan to mountain bike in the morning and road bike in the afternoon. I will definitely head out to the Rio Grande del Norte Natl Monument. Thanks for the tip.
Have an awesome trip & stay cool!
Second the fabulous! No other word works.
wow that was awesome my dad lives Right by the Winery in Dixon NM
Best place to explore Pilar is the Family spot to go camping
Love this, going to try to do these! 🍺 🍺👍😎 ~Maverick
I was looking at this video and was wondering now that you're on the sailboat it doesn't look like you get a lot of exercise as you did when you have the motor home. Are you okay with that ?
My wife and I enjoy your adventures and the way you produce your videos.
Just wondering what type and how many cameras you use? I see some dash cam shots, wide shots, close ups, just a lot of beautiful camera work.
Thanks for the compliment, you can find all my camera gear here: www.gonewiththewynns.com/hd-video-secrets
Very nice!
Awesome!!!
I was born in southern NM and love my state taos is my usual get away
Good video Thanks
Are you having any problems with the slides on your coach? Thinking of getting a Fleetwood
We have experienced ZERO issues with our slides. Fleetwood uses the hydraulic slide systems in the Excursion and not the metal rail system by Lippert. The Rail slide mechanisms have been nothing but trouble for us in previous RV's.
Gosh I grew up in Taos the nostalgia
Taos is my special place and I've got weird stories about it...as do many.
I'd like to know what your misses were, I have my list. Like a lot of the overrated pueblo's and the Earthships, to name a few. I wholeheartedly agree with you about Vivac being a hidden gem. Loved it!
" overrated pueblo's" says the guy with a venerated Native American Kokopelli as his profile picture, and it's Pueblo's with a capital P!
La Chiripada Winery is right down the road in Dixon and is also worth the trip! Lovely people, lovely wine, lovely location! There are plenty of good videos and articles about Taos proper, earthships and the ski valley. Most visitors want to see more and know more about what the locals do and the out-of-the-way places they might miss. I think it's a great video and I am sure there will be a new one that will be more to your liking. You cannot cover all the great things around here in one little "short"! Lighten up and maybe produce one with your own point of view, Pavel Lukes!
I am just devouring your videos today! You guys do a great job. I have once question about your Taos Video! what time of year did you go? We live pretty close in Colorado and just wondering :) KEEP TRAVELING !! and sharing of course
tetondeb Hello Deb,
I believe we were there at the very end of winter. If you haven't seen the articel we wrote check it out: www.gonewiththewynns.com/taos-nm-best-worst
thanks! I did and its great! :)
Gone with the Wynns
You were lucky to be here at the end of the 2014 winter. This winter was wet, wet, wet with snow and muddier than you can imagine. Still muddy, and it's March 11. We'll probably have snow again a few times more through May. Water is good.
nice place. wonder if it ever gets as hot as it does here in thailand. taos will for me forever be associated with kit carson. I'd like to visit his house one day if I ever go to america
Don’t miss staying at the Mabel Dodge Luhan house, where in 1920s and 1930s Mabel introduced modernists like Georgia O’Keeffe, Ansel Adams, and Willa Cather to the great Southwest.
A very nice video.
Mathias Nude
Hey, guys. Do you have a link to the chef or any info? I haven't seen food that looks as delish in the entire year I've lived here. And shellfish--where the heck did he get *that*? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!
JuliaB1955 We do have a link on our website: www.gonewiththewynns.com/taos-nm-best-worst

This is Chris Mahers web page. His food is awesome. I've had the privilege to work with him. Kind of a surprise to see him here. I for one enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
0:06 did they just leave their camera there? Was it even their camera?
I don't see any solar panels on your roof. Are you planning on getting solar for your need RV?
we had them installed 2 weeks after this video was filmed. We will update with our first solar video on the 11th of June: www.gonewiththewynns.com/solar
Thanks, I really enjoy your videos. I am getting my rig ready to start traveling and You two are an inspiration.
Dale
im southern NEW MEXICO ........87901,alot has chaged since your video.ty...be well
Did you hear a humming sound while u were there?
The sound of the silence hum?
@@vinceofyork no hes referring to the "taos hum" a harmonic that is hard for most to hear but is VERY audible to others.
Hi guys, great video, I just wonder how do you stay fit? I mean in your videos you are always having a great lunch or dinner, haha,
fed goe Lots of healthy eating off camera :)
Buried compound found out there brought me here.
Taos is famous for mountains.
You just got me incredibly hungry. And I don't even like seafood xD
How come, you didn't visit the Earthships of Taos? That was pretty much the first thing I thought of, when I saw the title of this video ^^°
Yea...we were right there but we only had one day in that area and by the time we hit the brewery and the hot spring it was pretty much dark :(
That's a pitty. But good to see you had a great time. I envy you for the hot springs :)
This video was disappointing. Not only did you miss a shitload of great spots in Taos, none of the spots you mentioned were actually in Taos (except maybe the chef's house where you learned to cook seafood-in a landlocked state). The winery is in Velarde, not Taos and everything else is outside of town. There's a plethora of amazing hidden gems, eateries and cool things to check out within the town limits. A shame none of them got mentioned.
you forgot breakfast at Micheal's kitchen!!!! hellooooooo!!!!! lol but in all reality y'all hit a lot of awesome stuff. I miss taos
Total hipster activities
100% missed the whole attraction of Taos. I agree with you 100%.
I’m from NM and love all this hipster stuff🙂, but everything else too!
Honestly I like Santa Fe more. Maybe I’m more of a creature of comfort
Did I just see a fucking cat following someone
I wanna hear about your cat who hikes with you.
+cshubs You can read more about our little hiker on our "about" page and here: www.gonewiththewynns.com/traveling-cats and www.gonewiththewynns.com/about
anyone else think Nikki looks a lot like Kerri Kenney from Reno 911?
Keep it lowkey! We shouldn’t be publicizing and making known such an amazing place. Excessive tourism ruins these hidden gems.
Why the hell is New Mexico wine "surprisingly good"?
Kayla Campbell Didn't expect NM wine to be so tasty
Taken over by the gentrifiers..
is that cat... walking????!!?!
Yep!
Slow down
My fat ass thought it said tacos
Cat walking
Why on EARTH would anyone want a “not so typical” pub menu?? Oh.. wait.. right… hipsters..
Nevermind..
I take it back
ree-oh grand
Looks like the typical Mexican homes.
You two do a great job on your videos, but I can't recommend Taos. The ski hill is great, but that's it. Red River is a better stop, but again its mostly skiing. I've seen enough to NM that I can recommend only Ruidoso. Its very nice.
Toooooooooot
"Hit or miss" RUDE
I hate when people say the middle of nowhere New Mexico
this video sounds like a cliche t.v show.
These are the same people that gentrify everything for their own selfish reasons
Wonder if Obama used his pin and phone to create that national monument?
He threw a dart at the us map and when it landed on Taos he was like "MICHELLE I GOT ONE!"
What do you think good ole Donald is going to do? Sell U.S. land to the Russians?
@@dannycanon6908 . You are an idiot, hater and hypocrite.. like all other dumbocrats
cringeworthy fake personalities.
