Poor Gump, you guys get Lord Stanley in the building when he leaves. Sad day for the Canadian. Literally the BEST SPORTS TROPHY. You can chug beers out of it and my parents were able to put my little brother in the cup when it made itself round Canada. Best trophy, hands down 🏆

The sky is the limit for this show and this squad. Before we know it, these guys are gonna have their own successful shows (beyond Hammer Dahn and The Pod)

I just showed a few buddies of mine an old photo of myself and my kids with the Stanley Cup. It was about 18 years ago taking my oldest son for his first skating lessons and the guy at the arena handing out skates asked me "have you seen the Stanley cup yet"? I was like what are you talking about and he says it's in the next room. I look into the room and there's the cup with the white maned handler just sitting there. I phoned my wife almost screaming grab the other kid and camera and get down here.
This is in Coquitlam a suburb of Vancouver and that picture with my two young boys is one of my favorite memories ever.
A case of two four in Montreal is not just beer, we got 24 of Lord Stanley's Cup, yea baby!...

The smaller rings are permanent and do not get replaced. The larger base rings start at the bottom, move up every 13 years when full, and then get sent to the Hall of Fame when they get shuffled out.

The cup moves around a lot and is displayed in various events small and big, has he said you cant grab it you can look at it and somewhat touch it but nothing more than that. I live in Québec and I have seen it in fairly small events. as other people mentioned it's about promotion every time it's not really a name your price thing.

So cool that you guys got to have Lord Stanley’s Cup in studio! I happened to be in its presence in Canada once and think it’s one of the best trophies in sports. Absolutely gorgeous in person. I’m assuming that’s the same one out of the three existing Stanley Cups that I saw in person, The Presentation Cup. It’s the same one that the players carry on the ice after winning so it’s the one you always see on TV.
You should know that the only way to stop your thirst for victory... Is to drink out of this CUP...

The fact that Buffalo and Vancouver have never won but Tampa has 3x is an utter disgrace. Toronto not winning since we landed on the f’ing moon, even more disgraceful.
Buffalo and Vancouver, expansion brothers from 1970. Three great hockey cities that haven’t seen a lot of success, it sucks. As a Sabres fan I hate the Leafs but it’s one of the best hockey markets. Buffalo has been at the bottom for a long time and we have a loyal fanbase. Hopefully the future will be brighter

I’m fairly certain there is 3 actual cups, at the very least there is two, one is always at the hockey hall of fame downtown Toronto, I’ve been and seen the one there as a local on the day a team has won in another city, it would have been physically impossible for it to travel the distance needed in the time from when I saw it to when it was on TV. And I believe there is a third one, probably the one on Pat’s show, that’s basically the show off one for all its general appearances.

There’s 3. The OG cup is permanently on display at the hockey hall of fame in a bank vault. The one the boys have is the presentation cup they’ve used since the 60s when they were worried the OG couldn’t handle the travel (it’s the one they present to the players). They also have a replica that serves as a stand in at the hockey hall of fame when the presentation cup is out traveling.
My uncle used to be the guy who gave the Stanley cup to the winners.

almost there is only 2 stanley cups the original base cup is in the hall of fame toronto the second base cup goes with the team then the original bowl is in the hall of fame to so really the original cup is and stays in the Hall of fame
and the original cup not the base but the cup it self never changes no names added to it nothing just the cup and wooden black base

Pat McAfee's podcast had an episode last year where they talked some about the best trophy and a few (including Pat) picked the Lombardi Trophy as not only the best trophy but the 'aside from' trophy.
Hopefully after this experience, he realizes that the Cup is way superior to the Lombardi. Would they be this excited with a copy of that trophy vs how excited they are here?

So cool you all got to have that trophy live in the studio just to look at. Would be nice if my team ever gets to hoist it again for themselves but the Red Wings are currently in a rebuild stage at the moment so i have to wait awhile before they even return to the playoffs
Pat was bashing our wings saying are they even on the cup anymore lol come on now 2008 isn’t that long ago and the back to back are still on there too. I’m a wings fan but when scot neidermeyer won the cup with the devils the last time he brought it to his hometown and I got some autographs from him and pictures with the cup there. Need Dillon dube to win a cup to see it again now

@@adamgranger5653 Edmonton because my brother is a fan but honestly I don’t mind Colorado now, admittedly it took quite a few years for my “hatred” of the team to subside after the late 90’s and 2000’s battles but they are so exciting to watch and our wings haven’t been playoff rivals with them for years that I would be okay with Colorado too. Colorado has a better chance against Tampa who I think will come out of the east and to be honest there I don’t mind either team making the finals either. Would be cool to see a three peat and a real “dynasty” for the first time in my lifetime and if not having New York knock out the two time defending Stanley Cup Champions and advance to play either Edmonton or Colorado will be a hell of an accomplishment and final series so as a fan without any skin in the game other than my brother being an oilers fan ( he was a Colorado fan all growing up but jumped on the oilers bandwagon back in the hall yakupov days so it’s a cool series for him) I am just excited to see some awesome hockey

I still think the World Cup is the best trophy in professional sports but the Stanley cup is definitely a really close second in my opinion.

@@Retr-vc4wn Yes and no. World Cup is played every four years. Soccer players careers might cover 3 tournaments, max 4. Then you have to qualify for the tournament, and play well there. And since it is a national team trophy, no matter how good player you are, if you are born into a small soccer nation, you might never even qualify for the final tournament. In NHL you can sign with teams later in your career, you can ask for a trade or teams are asking you to their team and so on.
The list of players who have never won World Cup is way bigger than players who never won Stanley Cup. Even the names of players who have never qualified for the final tournament is staggering.
