    Thanks for this. Very clear what to do.
    Seems frustratingly over-complicated to me beause of all the different parts involved. But that is the manifacturers fault, not yours.
    My old cars - 70's mini and mk 2 escort - the door panel was one part which you unclipped.
    Thank you for uploading.

    Man, you are my hero! Any tips for the back door panels? I must lubricare the parts that are locking the doors since they are working in the summer but not in the winter.

    Would this be same method for rear doors?

    Thanks for uploading this video, it was really helpful on removing the door panel. Now the pain is fitting it back. The stupid design releases the 2 window guides when the 2 bottom screws are removed. The one guide you can fit it back by removing the speaker. The other guide? Took me 2 hours and a lot of attempts to fit it back... what was the designer thinking?

    lol just did this now i cant but the door card back on

  • @marinefly54
    @marinefly54 Před 9 lety +10

    After you remove the seven fixing bolts you have to lift the whole card upwards and pull outwards to release it from the hooked plastic lugs or you risk breakage. Also be careful of the nylon lever located in the lock mechanism, it needs to be slid out by moving the card to the left.

    Great now my window guiders are lose. How do I fix that? The two first screws are holding them in place, but I can’t place them when my panel is closed. And when my panel is open I can’t put in the scews

    • @therealnashcarp
      @therealnashcarp Před 6 lety

      I fixed it, just by a lot of trying and patience. I am gonna bring it to the garage and pay €200,- for a new lock. Thats way less problems 😂

    • @therealnashcarp
      @therealnashcarp Před 6 lety

      cyb3r78 btw I opened my window a little bit that gives you maybe 2 or 3 cm room for the guiders. But be carefull, your guiders are lose and your window can go a little awry.

      I know the comment is 3 years old, but anyone else who struggles, the trick is to remove the speaker. Through the speaker hole, put your arm and reach the rear window guider. Yes, you have plenty of space to do that. Put the long screw and with your hand align the guider. The front is obviously a bit easier as it's pretty visible without the speaker in place as well.

  • @Mattventuring
    @Mattventuring Před 4 lety +16

    WARNING! Do not remove the first two screws as shown in this video. Just loosen them, because they hold the window runners in place. These are the two at the bottom of the door card. Removing the speaker gets you access to the runner if needed

    This video is completely the wrong way and will make refit nearly impossible. To do this correctly;
    - remove fabric covered panel
    - roll window down untill the bottom of the glass and glass clamps can be seen.
    - loosen glass clams using a torx driver ( do not undo all the way)
    - tape or wedge the glass in this position
    - roll the window mechanism down to half way (the window and mechanism are now Seperated)
    - Remove all the screws as shown in video, plus one additional screw in the top of the window runner / mechanism ( top of the runner further from hinge side)
    - lift panel upwards and slightly towards hinge side.
    - THE DOOR PANEL IS DESIGNED TO BE REMOVED WITH THE WINDOW MECHANISMS ATTACHED - not as shown in video.

      Wish I read this 1st. Only issue I got is the window dont work hence the reason for removing the panel

    • @SevSevy258
      @SevSevy258  Před 2 lety

      This only applies if the window is operational. Most of the times you go through this procedure because it does not work.

    • @danbrown773
      @danbrown773 Před 2 lety

      I wouldn't say "most* of the time. The panel is often removed to fix a common lock issue. Or to remove broken glass if the window has been smashed. Or to strip the door for repair. Motor failure would be the only isolated scenario where the SEAT approved method wouldn't be applicable.
