    You and Gywnn taught me how to pitch and bat at a summer training camp. Was unreal that my real life heroes did that for us all. Trevor Hoffman will always be a name of legend in San Diego!

    If the Braves had hoffman and Gwynn theyd have won all those years they should have.
    I hated Braves v Padres late 1990s especially when Maddux was up. It seemed to me Tony Gwynn owned him.

    • @drawkiain
      @drawkiain Před 3 lety +2

      Tony Gwynn faced Maddux 107 times in his career. He batted .415 and had zero strikeouts against him.

      @saints16o5o87 Před 3 lety +2

      @@drawkiain Gwynn was different class, almost an impossible out at times and likely one of the best hitters never to get a WS, despite playing in a great team his best years came when a NYY team who kept buying up the best rotation despite already having some of the decades best on staff and had top notch hitting from 95 to 2005.
      Even the Braves couldnt get it done more than once despite having arguably the best ever starting rota.
      An era where records were broken which brought huge attention to Baseball in the late 90s made the game the top news story again after the strike along with Bulls dominance in basketball and Cowboys in football had put baseball in the shadows.

    Is it my illusion or Hoffman has huge hands? He's like only 6'1 tall.
