The on again, off again showery weather since the last post has hampered the repairs of the southern CREB track, with the machines only just reaching the half way point, it is slow going because of the weather and severity of the damage, only way through is on foot. Unconfirmed reports are that council has a contract organised for supply of materials and machinery to fix the severely washed out section of the track along the Daintree River, this will be a major job, so do not expect it to be open this year. All other roads and tracks in the area that council maintains have been roughly repaired and open to traffic (see Douglas Shire updates), this includes the bloomfield road, north CREB, ZigZag, Meg Falls and 10 Mile. Works will be still ongoing, and next wet season will only bring more closures and works, with many landslide repairs, washouts, and fill in creek crossings only temporary.
@@STALKERS4WD no, the priority is the Bloomfield track which will open at the end of June...then its on with the rest. I was up there surveying this week..
@mattblom4196 come the 22nd the Bloomfield will be open all the way through. 95% of the track is fine for 4wd only at this point. there are some spots that are quite tight and I could get our 20ft van through. but at the moment I think an off road camper would be the biggest realistically for a few months... yes you can get through to the lions den .

For one this is in June 2023. The Cyclone was Dec 2024. Please learn to read. Also there's no one driving that track in a Cyclone lmao
