GA is a community property state. Regardless if he got the loan in his name and only his name on the deed, she is entitled to 1/2 of the equity if the house was purchased during the marriage in the state. There is NO WAY around it.

He couldn't hold a job down and my mother had low self esteem at the time and she wanted to be helped with me. I was young. But, this man was an alcoholic and later after she left him she found out that he also was using drugs. He would go threw my mother's purse and steal her money and if she didn't have any money for him he would choke her until she would be about to pass out and he would kick us out at 2 and 3 in the morning. One time we didn't have any money and nowhere to go so we sat on the porch all night together crying in the rain. I remember thinking as a child God please help us please because I'm only 11 I don't know what to do. I remember telling my mother I want to go live with grandma. And if you don't take me there I'm running away. The next day she took me to live with my grandma. That man tried to kill both of us too. He choked my mother until one day she actually did pass out that time. After I was gone. And he swung an Axe at my head to try and kill me. We never went back to him after that. People are evil to kids because they can be. It's just like bullying. His karma will come too. (Ralph) is who I'm referring to. Karma days for him will be here soon.

I knew a couple who married two weeks after meeting. He was 25 she was 18. They were together for over 50 years the last time that I had seen them. He always loved and treasured her and she always returned that same love. They were a beautiful couple. It can work out despite the time of knowing someone if their hearts are right.
