Hello everyone !😌
Please, don't spoil in the comments, no spam, no links, no politic, no advertising etc and respect Teddy's wishes.
You can debate among yourselves but without spoilers.
Thank you so much to everyone, thank you to ppl who are care about it too and enjoy her reaction! 👍
I feel like this episode might be a bit too late for the spoilers because the meaning of the banner is technically something explained and thought out about later we're not supposed to necessarily know what it means at this moment
@@TimothyGod Nah, Japanese speakers would normally get a good idea of what the banner means as soon as they read it. It's just non-Japanese speaking ppl who get confused. That's why lots of ppl come in to explain.
1:40 In Japanese, it's common for teams who have no chance of winning to cheer each other up by saying "let's make good memories here" and so on. They don't get the banner and the glory, but participating still had meaning and value. Basically, Inarizaki's motto says, "we came here for the trophy. The memories we make along the way are an afterthought. We came for the championship. We came here to win."
It's made stronger in Japanese by two things: it's written in Kansai-ben (the local dialect for the region where Inarizaki is from), so "iran" instead of Tokyo Standard Japanese "iranai," and then instead of saying 'wa, they say 'nanka' in the middle, which is kind of like saying "we don't need no flipping memories." It's not full-on swearing, but saying 'omoide-nanka' is kinda like a softer version of "f*cking memories."
Growing up in my circumstances I always knew victory was everything. It was first place or nothing and my parents made sure to stamp that into me. It's interesting to see people miss this interpretation because of the different circumstances of their upbringing. They can't even begin to understand that concept that scorns participation itself as not being enough.
So basically something to the effect of "We don't need no damn memories"
To add to this: The whole "good memories" thing is sorta along the lines of "well, we made it on a fluke, we'll probably lose all the games here, but let's still do our best". So when somone else points out "oh they're here to make good memories" it's kind of a polite way of saying "they suck". Kageyama says it to Hinata in the very first episode of S1 for example, another time is when the dude from Ohgiminami meets Hinata in front of the bathroom. If someone's goal is "to make good memories" it means they don't give it their all, low to no effort at all. The motto has to be understood in that context.
This is an interesting interpretation, but nah I think it completely misses the real point of the banner. Inarizaki's "We dont need the memories" is more about improvement than anything. They don't need the memories of when they >almost< won, or of the past. They always look forward to improve. As Atsumu says toward the end of the game, "Who cares that we're second best, that was yesterday."
@@azrielackerman4659 Yes, but those are spoilers, dude.
Fun fact: the "This position... this timing...this angle... it's perfection!" are the exact same words Kageyama says when he and Hinata did their first-ever weird quick.
One has to love Furudate and these parallels.
This!! It took me a minute to realise that and it happens to a lot of reactors I've seen
It is!! Love Furudate for that. I also think it’s crazy how Kageyama noticed before it even happened
I am still waiting for the day when somebody catches it. I've not seen any reactor catch it yet.
ah yess! that’s why i’ve been thinking that that sentence sounds familiar lmaoo
And the same words Kageyama thought in the last point against Seijou in episode 24 in season 1.
fun fact: this scene with the Miyas copying the weido-quick made Atsumu become Nishida's favorite setter. He said in an interview "he did some crazy stuff like trying out the weirdo quick right during the game (...) when you work with such a playful setter, you're really happy whenever you get a toss and It's just fun" - He chose Atsumu as the player he would like to play together, and this game as his favorite. Alan (opposite/Brazil's national team) is another player who also talked about Atsumu and about this scene. Alan chose him as the setter he would most like to play - he said "he (Atsumu) saw Kageyama and Hinata doing (the quick) and thought 'I wanna do that too' and he just did. I like this - I like a setter that is not afraid (...) It gives you motivation during the game".
I think it's funny how some people were offended by the twins copying the quick meanwhile the pro players were like 'wooooooow'
Another fun fact is that Nishida and Alan also share the same favorite character - Tanaka
I had no idea Souza had seen Haikyuu! It's crazy how many world-class players are familiar with it
who tf is Nishida
@@MaruSurfs yuji nishida? The Japanese national volleyball team’s opposite
One of Inarizaki's cheering songs is certainly similar to Bluebird, but it's a different song! By the way, Haikyu's cheering song is really played by a high school brass band team.
Atsumu's word when he's about to toss Osamu for their weirdo quick are exactly the same words Kageyama thought when they made their first ever quick waaay back to episode 4 in season 1
Atsumu's a complete demon in volleyball, but don't lose track of the rest of the team... They're the favorite to win the whole Nationals after all!
And the same words Kageyama thought in the last point against Seijou in episode 24 in season 1.
Nothing to take away from Hinata and Osamu but that quick needs an insanely skilled setter to pull that off. The fact that Atsumu pulled it off just by seeing it once shows how talented and skilled he is. He is a monster of a setter like Kageyama, that's what makes this match up more interesting.
"We don't need the memories" is my fav banner in haikyu. I like that it tells us to not dwell on the past . that you might have been the best team or the worst in the past but it doesn't matter and what you need to focus on is right now and how to make this moment great or atleast that's how i interpreted it.
I love how Nishinoya is always supportive of Hinata when it comes to receive even when he doesn't do it well. The practice, the efforts that Hinata put in the training camp is showing little by little and I am all for it. Also, when I first saw Miya twins copying the quick weirdo honestly I was terrified but then I realised the boys have grown a lot since then and we will be good :)
It's not Kageyama looking at Atsumu's feet lol. It's looking at his movement.
The receive that went up was bad, such that when you look at it, it seems like the setter will have to go for a high and wide toss to the outside wing spiker.
But Atsumu's clinical movement (that refined singular step) allows him to get underneath the ball, that bad pass and execute all the spiking options. He is able to run the quick instead.
This was explained in the Nekoma game back in season 1. Coach Ukai said "Kenma was supported by the perfect receives of their team, while Kageywma had to make up for Karasuno's bad receives with his talent"
It's the same here. Atsumu and his talent to convert a bad receive into a full fledged attacking play.
How can you read the play so well 😭 I barely get anything. You need to be a commentator or something I just read a full analysis of how Atsumu recieved a ball
The Hoshiumi "Huuuuh! always cracks me up.
Atsumu cheering hinata after he missed was so adorable even tanaka was like wtf.
This is why I always called Johzenji the Diet Coke version of Inarizaki. When they saw the synchronized attack Karasuno did they immediately attempted it and failed. Inarizaki and the Miya's are so damn good they were able to recreate the weirdo quick on their first attempt.
Johzenji is no way comparable to Inarizaki whether that be the playstyle or theme.
Two different teams with different mentalities and playstyle, totally incomparable.
@@rikumajumder1558 Both teams like to have fun. They're open to trying new things and being completely spontaneous... Which is why I called them the Diet Coke version of the real thing.
Clearly they're inferior but it was more for the reference I mentioned where they immediately tried something they saw.
@@Khay-77 Before I continue, all I wanna say is that even if I seem harsh, I am still debating.
But you are wrong in that assessment because Johzenji is a 'free spirited' team as a whole who like to try new things.
Inarizaki as a team is not that at all. If you mean the Miya Twins you would still be somewhat wrong as the setter is the only one who 'tries to do new things'. But that isn't even it. All they did was try to copy the 'Quick'. They didn't 'try anything new' other than that 1 thing.
Minor Spoilers:
I mean Inarizaki literally has a Captain whose whole motto is that you are rewarded with what you are always doing everyday in a routine and not necessarily just experimenting each day, each match.
@@rikumajumder1558 From the Haikyu Wiki "The team has garnered a reputation as the "strongest challengers" for their unconventional play style and tendency to take risks." The announcers in the game said they can be unpredictable.
I'm clearly not saying they're exactly alike. Just that they are risk takers and will try new things like the weirdo quick after seeing it in person. I don't want to get into spoilers but even the Miya's talk about them playing around.
The comparisons are small but if Johzenji had someone like their former captain that was like Daichi. They would be even more alike, they just don't have that foundation to depend on.
@@Khay-77 Karasuno is known to be unconventional and tries new things so is Johenzi the diet version of Karasuno?
Trying new things doesn't make two teams similar. Every team tries 'new things'.
The first time I ever watched this episode I was soooo mad that the twins copied hinata and Kageyama’s quick but now that I’ve watched the anime multiple times and love all the characters I’m so impressed w the twins and especially atsumu. He tried that quick on a whim and had the exact same thought process as Kageyama mirroring exactly what Kageyama said in the first season ‘this timing, this angle, it’s perfection’ this also shows the insane trust between both of the duos. But in the end hinata and Kageyama’s quick is the original and is definitely superior
I don't really understand how people get upset over them copying it, that's how sports work, you learn from other people. Literally all of our moves that we use have been used in volleyball before, we got a lot of our "special" moves due to learning from other teams, except for the the freak quick. It's only natural over time other players would learn to do it as well, just like how people in the past created other moves in volleyball that are still used today, it's just how it works.
Inarizaki's motto is more so "arrogant"-ish for lack of a better term than pessimistic. It's meant in the way of "we're here to win and be the best not just to have fun and make cute memories".
3:23 that shots of hinata and kageyama in their first met with his old uniforms always makes me wanna cry.
Fun fact, Suna's voice actor plays Mahito in JJK
hii teddy,
that moto is the best part of the season, you'll know soon enough
kageyama knew right away cause the insane thing about the weirdo quick is that the spiker is in the air a second before the setter even touches the ball (thus the '0 tempo' or 'minus tempo' title) so when he saw osamu jumping way early he realized what the twins were about to do
During the match, it's fun to see the spectators weighin in on what's happening. The spikers like Bokuto often have insight on the spikers playing, while Akaashi will have a different view based on how the setters are performing. It's great to see just the subtle differences in how they both will see the same play.
The thing about inarizaki vs karasuno match is its different from any other we have had in the series. in the previous big matches against seijoh and shiratorizawa there was already established sort of rivalry b/w the teams a grudge b/w players trying to crush one another.
but going into this match we hardly know the other team or players. what makes it special is the absolute Orchestra of beautiful top level volleyball displayed by both teams!! its a circus where 4 freaks who love and breathe volleyball just enjoying it to its fullest.(miya brothers, kageyama and hinata).
Nothing stimulate Kageyama more than a player with high contact point.
that one shot.. yeah 😂
Inarizaki's motto is actually one of the best of all teams, you'll understand why in later episodes. Also, it's kinda hard for a fan to be silent in a match when they're watching their team play, but i get your point
Damn, this is one of my favourite episodes of haikyuu. Kono ichi, kono aaiii, kono kakuto, donn pisha
19:41 "the Weirdo Quick" by the twins is my favorite scene in Haikyuu!
osamu is as chaotic as atsumu only atsumu is a little bit more annoying!!(i love him)
just gotta say i binge watched all your haikyuu reactions, your hair is badass.
This is the best foreshadowing ever!
Their banner basically means, “we live in the moment.”
You will understand why ´´We don´t need memories`` from the Inarizack supporters xD
We don't need the memories means: We only thinking about winning, we don't play for fun, we've come here to win. They don't care about talking that impresive match they lost
Just found your channel a few days ago from AOT reviews. You are amazing!! Subscribed! x
I don't know if you realized it or not but at the starting there Hinata did the bam long jump instead of his normal boing boing jump. he got excited by his reach that he forgot to spike and kayegayam told him to not do the bam long jump anymore in this match. this is the second time we saw hinata doing this jump the first time was at gym where daichi interrupted it.
they use the song blue bird as an hommage to naruto, as when this season came out it was the 20th anniversary of naruto
Omg you said everything about all The noise in those live games, i watched a game here in Brazil, and it wasnt even an important match but it was so freaking loud, im totally with you!
Nice reaction, brazilian fan here 🥰❤
"That's our thing!" wait...that's illegal! But by god does their theme slap
The end of this ep, where the twins do the quick... it gives me chills every time.
As an volleyball player i can tell you the whole room has to be screaming und making noice, cheering, yelling, have fun while the court is so calm that you can feel the tension of your enemy its the best feelong ever😅😍
Someone correct me if im wrong but the weirdo quick that the miyas copy is the first one right?? Not the one that "stops" but the one that passes the point of contact
ugh i forgot how cool the twins actually are
High School sports in Japan gets rowdy especially since they usually have a cheer team with them. More recently Japanese crowds have been a lot more cheery
we all miss oikawa, ugh i love him sm
That flower from behind😫
"We're not here for the memories" (i.e. we're here to win)
this ending is by far my favourite
As you say at the beginning, this fourth season was divided into 2 parts, this second part would originally premiere a few months after the beginning of the pandemic, isolation began due to the pandemic so the animation studio delayed this second part by 3 months and hired a secondary study to help animate what was missing, unfortunately this secondary study showed a low quality in drawing and animation so several chapters have a fairly irregular quality in quality.
Yes, we waited half a year to watch episode 14, from episode 13. It originally was supposed to be only for 3 months, but pandemic happened
Me on the other hand cannot even comprehend a sports match without loud cheering.
I feel like if you want to just 'watch sports' without the 'experience' of a crowd in a stadium then you should just stay home. You will not just be comfortable but also have better camera angles.
People who go to watch sports in stadiums are going for the 'full experience'.
Same with watching movie in theaters vs home. I prefer watching movies and shows alone on my laptop but I know when I am going to a theater, I want to experience the whole shabam.
ooh i'm here early!
It's always ultra satisfying when daddy daichi gets a spike in. Go karasuno!
Yeah, they don't need memories because Suna is capturing every embarrassing moment of it. 😂😂😂
and the simping begins again
Miyasss!💜💜
told u season 4 is my favourite despite the low quality on the animations in some ep
(We don't need the memories)
I took that as them not needing the memories of the last game or their last championship, because they're focused on winning this game right now.
Hi teddy, i would like to see your reaction to anime Hajime no Ippo it is a sport anime, you can watch it after finishing haikyuu
who else is dreadding the animation of the next episode !! I promise teddy, the animation is good after episode 15
nice
Hey! Like 900 ! niceee
Hi, Teddy!!! I hope you can react to The Promised Neverland! Great reaction btw thank you love lots!!!
You should check out men and women’s college volleyball sometime.
SECOND 🤚
Teddy ofc they wouldnt have the right to use Blue bird in their anime so no it isn't blue bird lmaooo
edit: although i know why you thought it was blue bird, i think the 1st 4 notes are the same in both songs
Why do people think that twins know each other very well...me and my brother are twins we play football...but my understanding with other players and with my brother is pretty much the same
Cause I know 3 sets of twins and they act like they know each other's underwear colour at all times 🥴
@@teddymecheto okay that's weird..
Why there is a delay for the next video???....
I think everyone in the comments is jumping the gun a bit earlier about the banner, they talk about the banner later episodes about what it really means cuz we're supposed to kind of not understand it at this moment we're supposed to wait and kind of see why don't they need the memories. So really to me it feels like this comment section is completely full of spoilers without people realizing it
I oshi team Inarizaki!!
New anime?🥺
tsukki😂😂
I find Miya's fist-stopping the cheer squad very lame 😂😂
I feel you on needing earplugs/earmuffs at some live sporting events. Along with being a volleyball fan, I am a huge baseball fan, and there are times that I need relief from screaming kids, or worse, screaming drunk fans. [I swear, some guys just go to baseball games to one up each other in drinking. I don't know how they do that when beer is 10 bucks, but it's not my bank account.]
The twins' quick is exhilarating for more than one reason. I absolutely love their music too. You know they mean business when that sax begins to play.
Half of the reaction is with no audio... F
What do you mean..? I saw it and audio wasn't lost anywhere
If the past matches plus this match seemed intense to you, consider that the new Karasuno vs Nekoma season contains much more intensity and suspense than all the matches so far.
Kageyama abuses Hinata , Teddy sleeps
Atsumu calls fans pigs, Teddy awake
