Very honest and correct video about living in Denmark. I think that it's important to mention WHY people from other countries remark that its expensive to live here. As you mentioned education, health care and a lot of other services is "for free". But... It´s not for free...you actually pay for these services everytime you buy something. Almost every time you buy something or a service you pay 25% tax on the price. You don't feel it, because its "in the price". If you buy a meal, and the restaurant want 100 DKR (Danish currency) in their pocket, they have to charge you 125 DKR. So 25 DKR is paid from the restaurant in TAX. Also the wage for the waiter is heavily taxed. If the waiter expect to have a monthly wage of 10.000 DK in his pocket every month, the restaurant has to pay him maybe 16.000 DKR, because he needs to pay 6000 DKR from it in tax. Because of that the restaurant need to have that in mind when they price their food. So actually...many of the services Denmark is known for is "for free" is actually pays by those who works and those who buy thing or services :-) But it is a great system which we are proud of. Everybody helps to sustain to great way of Danish living!

Last I checked, Danes pay a combined total of taxes at about 45%. Nearly half of their income goes to the gov't. That's not free.
Well, that’s a perspective... In Portugal we also pay taxes, less than that yes, but if you dont have an health insurance everything is very expensive and the public system doesn’t work that well. I prefer to pay taxes that work tho. For me the danish system is actually good and it worked from me while I was living there. :)
@@JoanaSantos94 I'm not criticizing, just pointing out the facts. If half my money was to be taken away from me to pay for gov't programs I'd expect those services to be top-notch and efficient. If not, then I'd find another place to live, or just go private.

Denmark flat? Highest mountain in the Danish Kingdom is 3700 meters high. The name is Gunnbjørn Fjeld. Highest in Portugal (Azores) is Mount Pico, 2351 meters.
