I’m not saying that the UFC literally announced it at their earliest possible opportunity. Wrong way to treat fighters in a lot of different ways. This is a combat sport where lots of training and effort go into matchups. Hope nobody gets injured. When you sign the contract then make weight and show up. Asking a guy to switch to a different weight at the last minute and then change your opponent at the last second is a big ask for a fight. This isn't a tennis match.

Agreed. It's a lot, but then sometimes turns out totally okay all around for everyone and fair - we can only hope that's what happens despite Lopes's weight cut and any risk of unnecessary career-hurting injuries.

All of the cancellations, rescheduling, and last minute changes lately has me very disappointed in the UFC. This is not just something that “always happens in the fight business”. Until I see the trend reverse, I will not buy any PPVs going forward, nor will I be buying any tickets to events. Too much baiting and switching going on for my taste - and this is coming from a 20+ year loyal UFC fan.
