      Possibily, but this wouldnt be a "suprise", but just the consequence of the fact that peru is a good team. Peru is better than ecuador on 2006 (that was a PHYSICAL team), better than paraguay on 2010 (that was a DEFENSIVE team) and better than costa rica on 2014 (that was a TACTICAL team). Peru is also TECHNICAL. Peru may not have the individualities of Colombia, for example, but collectively plays better than anyone else in south america (except brazil).

    You are underestimating Peru. Your analysis by comparing denmark, australia and peru, is too much centered on questions like "what are the most famous players of these teams? where do they play?", instead of beeing based on the performance of each team during the last year, which is the key to do an objective prediction. Peru hasnt lost in the last 12 matches (the last one was on Nov 2016 against Brazil), and at the End of March Peru won 2-0 against croatia and 3 -1 against iceland playing in USA (Denmark won 1-0 against panama and tied 0-0 with chile, playing in danmark; australia lost 4-1 against norway, playing in norway, and tied 0-0 against colombia, playing in england).

    • @HolgerDanske874

    it's the most puzzling team for predictions and bets. I usually refrain from betting when this team is playing. they have a tendency to hide their cards and never really show all they can do unless they are in real danger. so it's really hard to guess what will happen with them based on their previous matches. they sometimes stop playing when they know they'll pass (they have been criticized by french press for not making any effort to entertain their supporters in several matches, like against denmark). it's a team you can't really know until the last high stake rounds.

  • @hernandosobrino968
    @hernandosobrino968 Před 5 lety

    At the end of 2017, the most common prediction for this group (worldwide) was 1. France, 2. Denmark, 3. Peru, 4. Australia. Starting from march 2018, after the great results obtained by Peru in friendly matches, prediction 1. France, 2. Peru, 3. Denmark, 4. Australia increased.
    Prediction 1. France, 2. Denmark, 3. Australia, 4. Peru was still plausibel, but less likely, and most people who predicted Australia > Peru had something emotional for Australia or against Peru, or were ignorant about Peru. Many of these misinformed people were germans, since they kept a "not bad" impression from Australia after confederations cup, and they saw Peru as something completely unknown. In France every single journalist knew that Peru was stronger than Australia on paper, but since this group C wasn't Germany`s group and germans were not particularly interested in it, their research was too lazy to find out what the real level of the peruvian team was.
    Next time, if he wants to do an exact group prediction, he should make an effort and look at some statistics and results. Otherwise, its better to simply say which two teams are going through.

  • @vitaeschola
    @vitaeschola Před 6 lety

    This group, for me at least, could go 16 different ways. Really exited to see what Peru will bring. France on paper should be able to make a run for the title, but i have serious doubts about the cohesion of the team. Denmark is much more than Eriksen, he’s the undisputed star, but a player like Delaney is all quality, one of the best box-to-box players in Germany atm, but there’s still serious question marks for the guys up front and backs... Haven’t seen an Australia game, but i’ll watch any game Cahill plays, if he can play three games in this tournament he’ll play the next two world cups as well.

    Denmark 2 pts

    France is a no-brainer... Australia has a very good midfield duo, also Matthew Leckie is a pacey machine as well as a decent keeper playing in the Premier League. Denmark has Christian Eriksen and Kasper Schmeichel, two genius players playing in midfield and in goal. But I can't see them carrying the team. Peru has good players, don't get me wrong, but I have never really seen them play. Farfán is the only decent player I know playing for Peru. Because of this lack of knowledge, Peru causing upsets could be likely.

    Peru is a great team, and i hope they perform well, but i just dont think they can go throught, they will surely beat Australia, get beaten by France AND Denmark, i hope they do well because its amazing to see them back, but they are being overrated by a lot of people.
    Before you come saying i dont know anything about south american football, soy latino y mire las eliminatorias, me alegra que hayan pasado como no tienen idea, disfrutenlo como se lo merecen, casi lloro de alegria cuando vi como celebraban la clasificacion, pero tampoco se pongan las esperanzas muy altas.

    France in the qualifiers should tell you everything you need to know if they ever run into spain, brazil or germany. Even portugal will trash them now. They arent winning.
    Conceded 3 goals against sweden for a 3-3 draw, against a team (mine) whose defense was the only thing that got them to the WC.

    Not only is Peru going through, Peru is going to beat France. It’s not about star power, it’s about playing as a solid team. France can’t handle pressure (see France v. Colombia friendly) and Peru is rock solid when it comes to aggressive, masterful pressure. You heard it here first
    1. Peru
    2. France

    Without Koscielny, injured, we have a very, very weak defence...A huge problem ; but we have an incredible middle and attack, esp. with the return of Umtiti.
    Pogba goes on and off but Griezmann and Mbappé are on fire and Thauvin is better than you think, Matuidi is incredible (personal opinion).

    I have a hard time to see who will come out on top in this group. Could be both France, Peru or Denmark. If France find their form, no question they will win all three games.
    Peru is for me a unknown factor, but you can't be a bad side, to qualifier from South America! Beating good teams on the way.
    Denmark(my home nation). I know what we got. We have skilled players in most of our positions. But it is always difficult to play against South American teams.
    So for me, its open for all three nations to go into the next round
    Australia, im sorry, but your biggest star is 38 yo. I don't see how you can beat any of the teams in the group. But please, prove me wrong :)

    Please....what would you know about going up against Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia to qualify? In south america they are called eliminatories, not qualifiers for a reason. You face real competition in south america. Peru as a sixth place team in south america is still strong enough to give any team in the world a run for their money. I'm not saying an absolute victory, but easily a tie.
