  • Designing and 3d sculpting and designer toy using 3d printing. In this video, I am sharing my process of how I design my toys. I will start by showing the process of sketching a toy, and then we will move into digital sculpting, 3d printing, cleanup, sanding, primer and hand painting a designer toy. And finally, showcasing the final toy design.

    I created BOB as a tribute to fathers and parents, who feel like they are carrying the weight of the world on their back and they are scared that at any moment they might fall on their knees and start crying because they don’t know if anything that they are doing is effective. There are times when you feel like giving up on life, like when you accidentally put salt in your coffee instead of sugar, and you're just like "well, this is it, I guess I'll just lay here and accept my fate". But fear not my friends, because a sip of coffee can be the magical elixir that gives you the strength to carry on! It's like a superhero transformation in a cup. One minute you're a mere mortal, and the next you're a caffeine-fueled dynamo, ready to take on the world (or at least your to-do list).

      @@hman2912 Thank you, mate! Sharing our feelings, especially when down, helps us and the people around us not feel lonely. Whenever I get a message from dads and parents relating to what I had in mind when I created this fella, it fills my eyes with tears but also gives me some comfort that I am not alone. Again thank you! and much love.

    Amazing process!! You are truly a legend!! One critique tho, You should be wearing at least a dust mask when sanding resin, it’s really really really bad for your lungs, any kinda fine dust puts you at high risk for a ton of respiratory health problems including lung cancer 😢 I just want you to be safe so we can enjoy your work and guidance for years to come 🥺❤️

      @karmieh  Před 29 dny +1

      Thank you, Emma, thank you so much for thinking of my health :D and yes I agree! I always (well not always) but if I have long sanding sessions I wear heavy duty dust mask, but when I record I don;t always, cause the recording session for sanding they are maybe 10-15 minutes and I have to move and change the camera angle or adjust something else and it becomes annoying :D Again thank you for your kind words and for being such a kind human!

Even now I still need to put an effort when starting a new project cause I get excited about an idea and then I freeze, worrying that it might not come out as good as I want to or many other reasons why I shouldn't work on it. but I think the more you do it the more you get used to just sitting down and doing the work no matter the outcome. If it's not good just move to the next one.

    • @karmieh
      @karmieh  Před měsícem +1

      Thank you so much for your kind words. For sanding if I am doing wetsanding then I would start at 400 grit and then 600 grit I rarely use 1000 grit, but if I use scratch pads I start with Fine to ultra fine.

    Awesome video.. loved the design, very well finished.
    As someone who is starting at this.. I'm curious about the primer you use.. that allows it to be sanded after appllied. seems a perfect method.. so you can remove layer lines and fill support holes then sand any problem out.. is it a special one? Does any primer for miniatures works?

    • @karmieh
      @karmieh  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thank you for the kind words! The ultrasonic is really helpful in cleaning the parts so making sure no resin is left on the piece, and at the same time while it's cleaning it heats up so when you remove the support they snap off really fast and clean without damaging the piece of having to cut the supports and have them fly all over. I am so happy that you like the piece.
