The ring marks in the soil are actually the remains of a pilfered passage tomb. It probably looked a bit like Newgrange. They destroyed it and used the stones to build the lodge and that's why its cursed.
Archeologists recently excavated the passage tomb and confirmed it was real and they even found a polished stone axe head, stones with celtic marking on them, soil samples they are testing for human ashes etc. They also found plenty of flint tools etc.
Thank you for posting....I remember playing here as a little girl before we moved to Australia.....It's weird.Ive been dreaming of here alot!!! THANKS AGAIN FOR POSTING XO
I can see this place from my front garden. It's really not that creepy once you get used to it, people used to hike up all the time during good weather.
Same here I can see it as well
I guess it makes a good destination for a walk & a place to shelter if it is raining.
There wasn't just one "Hellfire Club" - they were all over the world, in most major cities but they got their start in Great Britain
Your videos are fascinating! I found you through a search for the Hellfire club and have been watching your other videos. Do you have a website? I'd love to find out more about how you got into all this.
It`s been years since I was up there
Good video
Excellent video. Great detail. Cheers
The song Hellfire Club by Imelda May brought me here. One day I hope I can visit this place, it seems mystic to me.
That staircase is generally where the footman died, as he spread the fire around the building. Many Bucks burned alive in the upstairs rooms as they had no escape, but Whaley jumped from one of the windows and survived.
How do you burn rock? oil?
@@spacepeanut5723 At the time the stone walls were probably coverd by wooden lathe & plaster & wallpaper or cloth hangings, plus there were probably items of furniture, carpets & curtains, bottles of Brandy & other highly flammable spirits etc, etc.
So this place is pretty haunted isn't it?
NASTY PLACE!!!
legend says if you walk anti clockwise around the house 3 times you will meet the devil
anti clockwise? You mean counter clockwise?lol... if you walk clockwise and don't drink anything do you meet jesus?
If you run around any house in Dublin bollock naked you can summon the Garda.
Space Peanut no we're in Ireland it's anti clockwise
I walked round it once 3 times and bumped in to a goat, it startled me for a second or 2, I said how's things, he replied that he was looking for his kids
