    This is a good and reliable technique for a pillar this size. Can be done even in the stone age. Good contribution to the building community!

    I was doing it manually, You're way to do it is much better, they're snapped perfectly!
    Very good guide!
    Funny is how small doors are often used in spacing builds, but they're never used as a door XD

    Good to see other people coming up with methods for doing these things. I haven't been in the game in about two and a half years, so i can't remember exactly how i did it, but the method i was using was a little different.

    I knew how useful wood doors are for getting roughly 1/2 and 1/4 spacing, but never thought to do something like this.

    Nice octagonal pillar. You can do something similar (with the doors) to create an almost perfectly round one, but it ends up looking pretty big and is a of of work, so I don't use it much.

      The wooden doors are seriously the best tool in our Valheim toolbox!!

      @@sarah4and10 So gotta ask, do you know if it increments cleanly across the 1m beam? Like, if you made a train of doors and 1m beams, would it have an overlapping snap point?

      Thank you. It works very well with auto snapping, so have not had to use the new snap points.

    besides just the look does this have any added support for the roofing? or is it just for Apperal

    Makes building the pillars easier and smoother though it takes a bit longer with the extra steps. Though what caught my eye was that chandelier in the background on the left at the beginning of the video.

      Only if you use iron beams in the center. Otherwise it is purely decorative.

      Actually I didn’t. The columns are Versaugh’s design and this awesome trick was shown to me by Whisper81. I asked and received permission to do a tutorial for this.
