I'm looking for a black pumice/lava rock base ( think Japanese islands, not active volcano) Do you think this would work, or maybe adding and aggregate to it?

That could work amazing! Add some fine sand to the mix, and you might achieve the “volcanic sands”. Great idea man 👍💯
