This movie is perfect because when you're young, you are totally on Max's side. When you grow old, you begin to see the things like Goofy and thus the circle is complete and you become a better parent.

@@MrGrimlockei see where your coming from but what your saying is he “taught” max from right and wrong, I don’t think goofy taught his son to be a good person, he just naturally assumed he would be a good kid, (either that or goofy saw plenty of personal evidence to conclude he didn’t need to be taught to be a good kid, kids aren’t bad people by nature, so goofy is right in naturally assuming his boy is a good one) so when it dawned on him that he could possibly be a bad kid, he starts being overbearing and overprotective which is the case with most overbearing parents, they want to control them in a way where they won’t fail, or do wrong, that’s when kids start to rebel and do wrong yk.

What I love about this movie is the epilogue where Max confesses to Roxanne that he lied to her is super good. He confesses he lied because he wanted her to like him, she tells him she already did from the first time she heard him laugh, imitating his Father’s laugh that max let out earlier in the film.
Max was afraid of becoming his father especially getting his laugh. Not knowing that Roxanne found it to be his most charming quality. A sense of Irony but also telling a moral lesson of don’t be afraid of who you are.

@@user-vz9wh6kk7yA lot of people think that, but in those old shorts, you see Goofy married to a bunch of different women (whose faces are always kept hidden somehow, but you know they’re all different because they have different hair colors). It’s part of a grander joke, that it doesn’t matter who Goofy is with because the shorts are mostly about him and never about the ladies he gets with.
Disney pretty much reinvented the character of Goofy from those old shorts because they wanted him to be more family friendly. In the old shorts Goofy was very mean and violent and Disney didn’t find that appropriate anymore. Upon looking it up, there is no definitive answer as to who Max's mom is or what happened to her. There is a preceding series that this movie is actually based upon called Goof Troop about Goofy and Max when he was much younger moving in next door to Pete and his family. As the lore goes Pete, his wife Peg, and Goofy all grew up and went to college together, and even then Goofy drove Pete nuts by simply being Goofy. Throughout the series, they are antagonists towards one another with their kids being best pals and causing all sorts of shenanigans.

You just need to realize and rationalize that anthropomorphic, humanoid animals are of a higher evolutionary ladder than the 'regular' animals. It's basically like how humans exist, but so do other kinds of primates that aren't as high up the evolutionary ladder.
A dog person like Goofy is not going to look at a 'normal dog' and think 'they're just like me!' Humans certainly don't with things like chimpanzees, capuchin monkeys, and other primates. How would this be any different from humanoid animals to regular animals?

Yeeesss exactly! However I will correct, we are not on a “higher evolutionary ladder,” we are on branching paths, evolving differently than one another yet one is not MORE evolved than the other, that’s not how it works. BUT ALSO YES I AGREE, Pluto is to chimps as Goofy is to humans

Heres a fact about Max's Mom: i dont remember if this could've been brough up in the movie or the show Goof Troop but the original explanation was that while on a trip to the grand canyon Max's mom tried to back up for a photo and then fell into the grandcanyon but they decided to scrap that idea and just have it be Goofy and Max

i hope we’ll get to see any of the Characters like Roxanne again at some point,
I wonder what happened to her after this Movie?
Would anyone like to see them do the Sequel?
Also, by the way, Pete and his Son is Cats.

I love this movie! It's came out after the series "Goof Troop" which I recommend you all watch! Max was younger then ^^ so was PJ. I'm hoping they eventually tell us about Max's mom and such hehe. The thing about this world is apparently Goofy and everyone in it are human, so they look like some weird dog/human hybrid lol. Anyhow, this is a great father/son movie and I hope you all enjoy it!!! It's still one of my favorites today.

Guys. Come on. It's like an alien looking at our world and saying, "Wait, if the dominant life forms are simians, why are there other simians?" Different species exist. There's birds as both animals and people too, no one ever questions why Donald exists in a world with regular ducks

I ADORE this movie as a kid and it still holds a special place in my heart. As a kid, I'm 100% on Max's side (except for the map and lying part but I empathize on why he did it) as I got older, I can see where Goofy is coming from. But, it's still impulsive on Goofy's part to drag Max away to a vacation he didn't want to go to and the whole problem could've been avoided in the first place if they actually talked. It's pretty great that they had managed to communicate by the end of the film to see where the other is coming from (Extremely Goofy Movie kinda took that away from me a bit though)

  • @moonchildyoushine2486

I love this movie, I know the lyrics to all the songs. I feel like as I got older, I still can't help but be more understanding towards Max in this situation. I say that mostly because, Goofy could have had a talk with Max after the principal called him. Instead he didn't, and dragged him on a vacation that Max made very clear he didn't want to go on. Although they ended up getting closer which is great, it only happened after they communicated with each other which is what was missing. Goofy wanting to be apart of Max's life is valid and I understand that. I just feel like going completely against what your son wants and ignoring how he feels in an attempt to bond with him wasn't the best thing. It's good to meet in the middle where you can both get what you want. Max enjoyed the places they went to and when he saw that his father was a bit miserable he took him to do something he knew he would love. Goofy making the extra effort to get Max on stage with Powerline, when they could have just cut their losses is another example. I liked those moments because it shows they understand each other and they both made each other happy and no one was miserable. I feel like my comment makes it seem like I don't like Goofy and Max has done nothing wrong. I just feel like as a parent it's good to communicate with your child and in an effective way. When you do that your child will have an easier time telling you things.

Spoonerville is like middle class suburban life living for the bipedal dogs. The ducks live in Duckburg where Scrooge McDuck basically hoards all the money and pretty much enriches the town with enough pittance of his wealth to not perform a French revolution. Mickey and Minnie lives in Mouseton, in a house that seems to always need repairs. And the locations seem to be absolutely nonstagnant in America, sometimes being on the East Coast, while other times being West Coast and Middle America, and sometimes in Toontown.

Easter Egg time- the husband and wife from the “On the open road “ song were the roadie and the female singer goofy walked in on at the concert. And in the Open Road song a bedazzled gloved hand was seen in a limo and that was Michael Jackson. The singer Powerline is modeled after Michael Jackson, Princess and Divo and played by Tevin Campbell. Mickey and Donald were going to California to see the concert too you can see them when goofy shatters the big screen. This is still one of my favorite movies of all time!!

The Goofy Movie is so well done. This - along with a few others - are why I enjoyed Movies from the 90's during my childhood, and even now in my Adult Years.
Now-a-days, it's all Special Effects, CGI, Explosions, Action, etc. There are obviously some good ones, yes. But most lack that "soul" you would find in 90's Films.
