- My first time ever out in the Brecon Beacons national park, Wales, and first time my friend has done a wild camp. We started at the base of Pen y Fan and basically did the whole ridgeline. Starting at Pen y Fan got the main crowd out the way first, the numbers soon started to dwindle as we went round. I would like to say it was fairly easy to start, and well seasoned hikers would, but my yellow belly legs aren't used to many slopes! I tried to remove most of my panting!
We managed to reach the summits of Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn, Fan y Big before setting up camp at around 530m. We headed up to Graig Fan Ddu ridge to finish the next day, for a total of around 16 miles. I didn't show my cooking, but I had huel for tea, hot and savoury. Was shattered and needed a good meal!

Certainly a brilliant walk, and a great camp. Think I have made a new convert to the wild camping world.

Absolutely breathtaking views!
Wales has some wonderful places with stunning views.
Keep on rambling!
I love the Beacons Chris. They're always a pleasure and super impressive from nearly every angle. Great that you and your mate got up there for two firsts. You couldn't have chosen a better day and or night. Ah, the relaxation beneaththe fans must have been a dream. Well, it certainly looked like it. Good going. I trust you're well. All the best out there. Mark
Thanks Mark, it was a brilliant day for it, the summer seems far away now though! It really is another incredible place. Seems like a lot of those in Wales! Want to get back to explore some of the less popular areas of the beacons too.
@@ramblebob1 A pleasure Chris. Yeah, it does seem an age away. I agree the Beacons are awesome as is Wales as a whole. See you back out there. Peace.
