Former Celtic and Dundee goalkeeper, Rab Douglas is in the chair with Si this week as he chats through his career between the sticks.
In what can be an unforgiving role in a football team, Rab discusses the various highs and lows in an extraordinary career which started out playing part-time while working as a bricklayer and fireman before turning pro at 25 and then going on to win multiple honours and a place in Celtic’s team in the 2003 UEFA Cup Final. - Sport
Rangers fan here. 6 minutes in and already think this man is a gentleman. Obviously being a volunteer fire-fighter helped sway that opinion, but his general manner and attitude is top class.
Any time I hear big Rab he comes across as a crackin’ guy. If your team has people like him in it, you’re on the right path.

Congrats on Arbroath winning the league, I actually seen Rab playing not so long ago when he was at Forfar few year back as my mate plays for Albion Rovers and he was still quality at the age he was
Enjoyed that an absolute gentleman is big Rab remember so many of the games discussed but fair to say you don’t play 160+ games for Celtic without ability reaching a European final and a stack of medals tip my hat to you big fella Hopefully Dundee can show the same passion and dedication you have for that club in the remaining games this season
Remember having a £5 on Larsson 8-0 v Suduvva 150/1 after 94 mins it was 8-0 and Henke scored and big Rab rolled one out to their striker who tapped home 8-1 still love the big man.

Rab is an absolute gentleman. While it's evident that he made some high profile errors for Celtic, it's often overlooked that he played well for the vast majority of his time at Parkhead, albeit not to the levels of an Artur Boruc or Fraser Forster. Particularly in the rounds leading up to Seville.

A mate of mine once met big Rab in Boots during his Celtic days, top guy always thought he was a little bit harshly treated but that's the nature of the beast when you're a keeper. My Dad still refers to him as Rab the Shoveller, apologies Rab, he's just got a thing about goalkeepers. :)
