- I don't buy a Hot Toys action figure unless it's a character I'm really, really, REALLY interested in getting. Which would probably be most of the Star Wars universe but I just don't have that much money. I reserve Hot Toys to those one-off, singular characters. The Dark Knight Joker. The Crow. And now movie Deadpool. Because it's so Deadpool.

I got the guy 4 days ago and I don't even treat him like he's $309(extra for shipping I didn't want to be on a waitlist so eBay Shanghai was next best bet-the movie was awesome especially the whole cast). I lift the arms more than 45degrees and rotate them more than the wonderful Fwoosh did in the video(1st day too) he actually holds up quite well I have to say. I enjoy posing him with his partner Spider-Man

I got my first HT in the mail a few days ago. I told myself I'd never spend that money on a figure, but when I saw that Knightmare Batman, I couldn't pass on it.
See, yeah! There are those few that catch your eye and won't let go. As I was signing for it at the door I felt a slight tinge of regret but mostly because I was holding a $250 cardboard box. When open, totally awesome.
I'm with you robo on not having enough room for 12". I'll tell you what though, if bandai does a line of 12" model kits for human star wars characters (with unpainted faces) it may be time to find a new house.
Dang it, forgot about those 12 inch models. I can't see them releasing any humans but if they make some more droids or troopers to go with that Stormtrooper, I'm toast. Models are too good to pass up. I'll need to kids to all move into one room. They have had it too good, all individual rooms and such.
The little pieces of metal, are push daggers I think, goes in the slots on his chest.

not sure if they are designed to actually fit on this figure, but the small shuriken/blades are mounted in the small black pockets on his chest on the screen used costume (they are the same shape as the blades as well). it doesn't look like they can actually sit there on this figure though.
Does it worth of a investment to be sold in future?

And those little blades weapons do they not go in the little sheaths or maybe peg on them on ether side of the chest?
I noticed they were shaped the same but those little sheathes don't open, as far as I can tell. And oh yeah, I already have that Revoltech DP on the way, should be next week. So much red and black goodness at once.
So now in 2024 Do you think The Deadpool 2.0 will be the best one Or The one that's coming out from the Deadpool and Wolverine movie Or the original one that you got in video? Just curious cuz I got to make a decision soon I guess I got to wait until I see the pictures for the new Deadpool from the movie figure that's going to come out it would only make sense if that was the best one but that's yet to be seen

I finally got him, but like going in the ocean- I have to warm up to him before interchanging too much, guess I'm not use to spending this much on a collectible... and just my luck- Mezco Batman got charged a day after this- hopefully Daredevil isn't next week as I need to figure out my box storage situation living in an apartment with no garage and a ton of movies and CD's along with collectibles... yay first world problems, huh? :p
Haha! No no, I hear ya, on the rare occasion I do get a Hot Toys figure I have to sit and stare it in the box for a while before actually opening. You know, letting that "Holy shit I just spent $250 on an action figure" sink in first.
Ha, yeah man. It's like you feel the excitement and urge to try and take some silly or badass pics but at the same time you feel overwhelmed and don't want to screw anything up since it's not even a "video game priced" (import) figure in terms of price and production runs- so opening it and taking all the stuff out, making sure it's all together and knowing what you'll use later (I left those throwing kunai accessories in the box as well) has to be planned out well, because opening/closing these boxes can be time consuming itself. I think I spent more time trying to be careful setting it up than having a photo session.... but eventually ideas will cycle through- like using that Joker money from one of his HT figures (I regret not fixing it and selling it on ebay to see how much I'd make from the older 1st HT Joker figure with a broken leg and no box) or something or having him try and hold Marvel Legends (especially his own) just for fun.
Guys, where has deadpool used the daggers and, I still haven't purchased it yet, can deadpool hold his daggers or have any storage on the suit?
Not that I could find. They are so tiny. They do kind of look like the shapes on his chest but they don't store there.
The articulation is quite limited, I tried to make an action pose out of the figure by having Deadpool pull his katana out of his sheath. Because his arm can't reach all the way back, his sheath just falling out whenever I try to pose that movement. You ever try that pose before?
No, I didn't want to push the material too far, too expensive to start making it tear. But I agree, articulation is limited, mostly because of the suit.
Great review, have been looking at a few different Hot Toys recently, but can't justify the cost (to my other half). Deadpool looks amazing, though interesting to hear that the costume limits the articulation - I'd assumed you'd get move range of movement from these than 6 inch figures, but I guess that the limitations of using actual fabric / faux leather etc... as opposed to plastic made to look like said materials?
You nailed it. The pull of the fabric, while looking fantastic and realistic at this scale, does hinder the articulation. And I don't like the price but sometimes I just gotta squirrel away the money over the course of months and then not tell her until it arrives at the door, haha.

May I ask, is this the second batch deadpool? I noticed the left sleeve also damaged after bending the forearm (time 11:05)
From what I've been told by others, this is apparently the first run. I didn't notice the sleeves until after I had posted the review and was messing with it but now that I have a pose picked I probably won't move him for a while. Still, expensive toy to be already showing damage.
I believe the cracked sleeves is due to another problem (not solely because the palms touch the sleeves). The problem may due to the design of the suit. Upon my observation, the extra sleeves leather was folded inside the wrists and fixed by the ball joint. Through time when playing pose with bending the arms too much, it causes tension to the sleeves and eventually the sleeves around the wrists may cracked. The situation is just like your deadpool.

Has your Hot Toys Eric Draven's faux leather started cracking or peeling? Mine has. I dunno how to remedy it. 🙁
I haven't noticed it anywhere but I don't do a lot of reposing of these. The only think I can think is to treat it somehow but if it's already cracked then it might be too late.
+kasandhbs Second to the lowest part of my shelf. I have it displayed with the jacket on. There are a few very minor peelings in the jacket, but the biggest one is on his pants. Could it be because of its proximity to the ground, thus accumulating more dust than my other figures on the upper part of the shelf?

Like you Im hating all Mafex, figures with all the QC issues. My Batman v Superman Batman came with 2 left feet literally.
The Boba Fett just showed up at my Hobby shop and I want a boba fett by dont wanna get burned again.
Mine is floating somewhere between Chicago and my house, hopefully I get it Monday. I'm hearing good things from a lot of people though. In fact, nothing at all about bad QC, a couple of odd design choices, but for the most part good things.
The rerelease comes with the unicorn!

I love this figure. It's an investment to me! Worth the money cause I get enjoyment looking at it! It's a work of art. Tell people we're buying "art"!
Those little Star Wars toys add up, that's how i look at in anyway. 10-12 BS or 1 HT. 4 Figuarts or 1 HT.
I'ts hard to balance this stuff out man. I try my best to get a little of everything! ha
Anyway, don't want to be a party pooper, but that figure has some QC issues regarding the hands meeting the suit. You will find all the info in the Deadpool thread located in the Marvel section @ SS freaks.
Yeah, after the review I noticed that there was some friction there at the wrists. Kind of sucks, will have to see what can be done. And you're absolutely right, it's all money I would have put towards plastic anyway, might as well throw it at something big, awesome, and expensive every now and then.
Awesome figure waiting on my Deadpool to come in. Im like you cause if its a figure I really want I will get since hot toys is expensive haha I missed out on the T-800 and the Winter Soldier...Man those are rare.
Winter Soldier is another that is tempting, on my short list. But if it's hard to get it slips down the list, haha.
definitely definitely I like that fool but I'm not a big fan of it my son is a hardcore Deadpool fan I've gotten several comic books the bootleg version of The Dead Pool I would love to buy him one and surprise him only problem is that those are very expensive and he likes to Super poses figures or he may just even take them out the box question how much was it to go for the hot toys?

Why doesn't anyone know what shuriken is
Because 99% of the time shuriken are symmetrical many bladed round objects, not just a single blade out one side. At least that's the general consensus.

XXTROB Hey, my PO apparently dropped my email notification for PO box arrivals and your package was in there, along with something from Boss Fight. Insane. Thank you, it looks awesome. And MAFEX Fett should be next, if he would ever leave Chicago. If it does show up tomorrow it will be a slip in the box and I can't get it until Monday. Overseas companies really need to take US mail schedules into consideration, haha.
The Fwoosh it's my pleasure and glad you like him. If boba ever leaves Chicago gives me all kinds of thoughts of him eating deep dish pizza. Postal jail is a terrible place for figures to be in....missing a package from Japan and getting that "sorry we missed you" tag on your door is painful

11:05 not acceptable! Hot toys hasn't fix the wrist issue (torn up fabric) which all collectors were furious about. And you got it from sideshow, hot toys delays the USA release so they can fix the issue. I guess judging by the video here, they haven't... I haven't got mine yet from sideshow... looking at this video made me pessimistic....
Hmm, see, not being a big Hot Toys collector I wasn't aware of it being a widespread issue. I didn't even really notice it until after the review was posted and then when people started mentioning it I went back and watch the video. Yup, sure enough, it was actually doing it before I realized it. Is there talk of replacement or some way to fix it? I'm not going to be doing a lot of posing now that I've found a pose and put it on the shelf, but if something is going to be done I want to get in on it.
The Fwoosh well, I wrote to sideshow a few minutes ago, and I suggested them to contact hot toys and propose my solution to the problem. Make the interchangeable hands magnetic will absolutely not cause any of the tearing problem. Just pop it and pop out. What do you think? Well I haven't yet received mine but I will most certainly displeased to receive a faulty figure with a premium price tag.
The Fwoosh well the figure was released 2 months ago from hot toys, the early adopters who received it were the ones who mentioned the issues. This is probably the reason why sideshow delays the launch of the figure over here in North America, so hot toys will have more time fixing the issue. I guess upon watching your video, they didn't. Hence I strongly suggest that they make the removable hands magnetic.
The initial issue has allegedly been addressed. Hot Toys changed out the original wrist pegs for larger ones so that the wrists don't overlap the sleeves anymore, they sit right at the tip of them and don't rub along the material.
In that shot it looks like that's the case, but damn, I guess there's still problems. The wrists may still be rubbing the material just at the ends in certain poses?

It was about $265 after shipping. Not terrible in terms of Hot Toys figures, but terrible to have to explain to the wife, haha. Good thing she's a huge Deadpool fan too.

Robo do Hot Toys? Why do I only found it today
Very, very rarely I do Hot Toys. That's one line I simply cannot afford to jump into.

After watching the "fixed problem" from other collectors on CZcams. Their fixed/ updated figures are the second batch. They fixed the issue by making the ball pegs bigger, so when peg in, the hands will not come in contact with the wrist fabric, thus causing the tearing. So my question is did you received your figure from the second batch from sideshow?
After rewatching your video, yours definitely were coming from the first batch. The second batch ones have 'gaps' or 'creases'. The wrists of yours appear to be a tight fit, so it's not the fixed ones. Here's the video m.czcams.com/video/KGTytZFDMPc/video.html
I can't afford Hot Toys but damn there is a few I would love to get (once I pay my car off and have a few extra buckuroos), but still want to the Kylo Ren.
Oh man, yeah, like I mentioned, I would love to get the Star Wars stuff, but that universe is too big and I'd need all of them. Which would cause massive bank problems. I get one every couple of years, easier to slip by. Especially with Sideshow payment plans.
