Both flood lights on the Kop end were erected in the early 1960’s and set back one would assumed so as not to disturb the terracing at that time. The Kop terracing had its last roof covering in 1979 and it sat between the floodlights.
I wonder where they've stashed the sections for the 4th and final new floodlight? The foundation's in and curing, but the tower parts have vanished. Anyone know?
Never thought I would be feeling emotional over a floodlight - but seeing the last old girl stood there... Wow, goosebumps!

How bigger it’s turn the stadium after of rebuilding The Kop?
Was at the first game under the lights when a policeman friend got beaten up after the game by opposition "fans" !! Swindon I think? Think we won 2-1.
The large original flood light looks quite set back is this because of the position of the old stand ?

You can see how much further back at the moment, as the original footing for the old lights at the kop end can still be seen behind the new lights
