Bioware was way ahead of their time with Dragon Age and Mass Effect for sure. They're not here to tick your boxes. They're here to tell meaningful, realistic stories. No forced stereotypes. No sign of abnormality in regards to sexualities. No shoehorned coming out plot points. Just people. Just people in love, who are happy. That's where most romance subplots fail.

Well, if you take the events of the full game into account, the club scene triggers very late in the game (before priority: Cerberus if I'm not mistaken. By that time, a lot of things happen and the crucible is almost ready. So this game probable took place in a span of a year or more (it doesn't feel that way to us players because of the game's pacing, but realistically thinking, it's a safe bet). So yeah, the greaving could have taken moths and with Shepard helping him, they get closer during that time.
You know, I'm as straight as they come, but seeing this just makes me want to take these two cuties, bundle them up and put them in a cute little box of cute.
I think the Steve romance is very good and well written, but it always seemed somewhat exploitative to me. Six or eight months is NOTHING after losing a spouse; if you've been together for years, you feel like you lost them yesterday. Steve is obviously still in mourning, and it seems kind of inappropriate to be going after him when he feels that way, even if he says he's trying to get over it.

Living in the moment, not being alone in chaos, etc... I can understand how they come together. But like Thane, he is in pain and mourning... I get we can be unconfortable with their past love life.

Also keep in mind that fresh ME3 romances don't get the attention - Sam may have the 88k views but that's more the shower scene rofl and the other romances are in the 100ks. Steve may have the least attention of the romances outside of the 'GAY MALE ROMANCE WITH COMMANDER SHEPARD?!?' controversy (Kaidan is relatively ignored about that), but there's several innocent factors about it.
Malcolm Swoboda I saw this one guy on YT he picked romance options with Cortez as a joke but the romance got locked in and liara rejected him, he was so pissed haha I guess you are right tho, plus factor in that when a lot of people saw the ending they were done with the series forever.

this one and the liara romance are the most sad ones i think. i mean, just imagine liara having to deal with shepards death again after it's all over (assuming you got an ending where she survives and shepard had a relationship with her since me1). already been extremely hard for her the first time shepard died. and cortez.. well, i'm not sure how he is gonna react to loosing his second husband as well. probably it's gonna be even harder for him than the first time, maybe even drive him to become alcoholic or drug addict or even suicide. so sad to think about that.

What I love about this game is that whether it's straight, gay, bi or lesbian romance, it comes so naturally, just as the way it should be, no hiding, no backlash, just two beings falling in love. It's just a game I know but it's comforting, with all the hate crimes out in the real world, this warms my heart. p/s: still more of a fan for Kaidan x MShepard but this one is super cute :)) just can't imagine the end though, it would be so tragic.

I played through both as femshep and male shep. For femshep she was with Liara (so I couldn't possibly romance her with male shep cus it felt like a betrayal) so I tried Steve with my male shep cus I don't like much of the other romance options for him

Unless, of course, you've played Shepard this way from ME1. Ya know, it is possible to not romance anyone through ME1 and ME2. When I started ME3, I had no love interest baggage. Steve was my first love interest in all ME. So it was natural as hell for me.

Third comment, I know. I was just wondering if it's just me that thinks Cortez brings out a side of Shepard that's rarely seen. Like a sweeter and softer side rather than the brash, hard and scruffy commanding side; even though he has to be that way because he's the CO. He just seems to let his guard down more around Cortez.

What I love about this game is that whether it's straight, gay, bi or lesbian romance, it comes so naturally, just as the way it should be, no hiding, no backlash, just two beings falling in love. It's just a game I know but it's comforting, with all the hate crimes out in the real world, this warms my heart.
p/s: still more of a fan for Kaidan x MShepard but this one is super cute :)) just can't imagine the end though, it would be so tragic.
I like the friendship between cortez and straight shep better then this.Ignored him at 1st he crashes at London start.on whim,got to talking,his scene on club purgatory (tell him your into the ladies)was well done.the shuttle joyride on citadel dlc great.I liked I could play manshep straight like myself,and still enjoy the cortez character.
I played through both as femshep and male shep. For femshep she was with Liara (so I couldn't possibly romance her with male shep cus it felt like a betrayal) so I tried Steve with my male shep cus I don't like much of the other romance options for him

This couple is cute, but I just can't get behind it. Shepard may or may not have a dead love interest, and Cortez's husband died less than a year earlier...it feels too much like a rebound romance to me.
Unless, of course, you've played Shepard this way from ME1. Ya know, it is possible to not romance anyone through ME1 and ME2. When I started ME3, I had no love interest baggage. Steve was my first love interest in all ME. So it was natural as hell for me.
Just because it's a rebound romance doesn't automatically mean it wouldn't work out.

sanablue1 in the original version of the game yes; In short there are 3 options and you always die. In the extended version if you have a certain amount of resources by the end of the game one of the endings let's you live
