    Thank you! I got a drawstring caught in my dependable old Kenmore and could not dislodge it. With your video and the purchase of a socket wrench extender, I was able to remove the agitator, free the drawstring, and put the agitator back on. Saved me a service call. Thanks for the detailed step by step.

      Why did you need to get a new agitator??? I can’t think of any reason why anybody would need to get a new one if there’s one already in there….

    thank you I am a visual person and I need to see what your doing each step. not one video showed that you have to push the top agitator down to lock it down. I knew it shouldn't be lose but I couldn't figure it out. if this doesn't work I am going to take a sledge hammer to the stupid thing.

    Our agitator bolt has sheared off....how can we get that out? Thank you
    Oh....it just looked like it was broken (and missing!) we used the square piece of the 1/2” extension to get further down!

    My model 70 top loader did not have the 7/16th bolt. It had a plastic square cage that screwed onto a bolt underneath. I had to MacGyver a square approximately 3/4" to break the cage loose, and I was then able to proceed with a successful repair.

    Is there a drive mechanism under the agitator assembly that would cause the agitator to not agitate? I've replaced the cogs and the rest of the agitator looks to be in good condition; however, the agitator will not spin or agitate. Thank you.

      There is a motor coupler, and a clutch ring that tend to age and need replaced. I just completed replacing both of those, problem solved, only reason I checked this video was simply because I forgot where one piece went in reinstalling the agitator. Check out Bill Newberry here on you tube.

      @davebashford3753 Před 5 lety +1

      The way he's turning it, and from what other how-tos say, it's a normal right-handed thread.

    I have to be doing something wrong. I put everything back the way its showing and when i go add the fabric softener it just spills out of the bottom. Where as b4 i took it apart, it held the liquid until the cycle was finished. Im not sure what i am doing wrong.

    • @Goldenwoodz
      @Goldenwoodz Před 2 lety

      Anytime you move the softener cup loosely in your hands and there’s liquid inside of it it’s gonna dump out immediately because the way that those work is that as soon as it clicks into the first spin after the wash cycle it’ll be sucked into the inner parts of the fabric softener cup where it’ll whirl around until it stops spinning the load and fills for the rinse cycle and once it stops spinning it’ll all drip out of the dispenser from the force of the spin cycle immediately. That’s why if your direct drive Kenmore or Whirlpool slips into spin during drain where it should neutral drain it’ll stop spinning where it would normally stop draining and click into the spin cycle before the first rinse and if u got softener in it’ll dump it right out and drain away, simply because when the neutral dream pack goes when it’s supposed to neutral drain it’ll start spinning and it’ll spin during the whole time and those machines aren’t designed to do that but it’s such a common issue with these machines even on my own too and it’s not easy to repair But when you have a washer that’s slipping into spin when it should be neutral draining on these Kenmore is whirlpools whatever after the main drain cycle is over it stops completely which means if it slipped into spin it’s going to stop and dump all the softener out and then it’ll click into the main spin before the rinse cycle hope that makes sense it’s not easy to explain over a message

    I have a question. We have Kenmore 700 model, but with no agitator: is it possible to install the agitator for this model? If it is, then what kind of agitator will fit this model?

    • @FixDotCom
      @FixDotCom  Před 6 lety

      On your Kenmore model there should be a tag with model and serial number on it. Kenmore's model number will have 3 numbers followed by a dot and then 8 numbers for example 665.45842300. Please provide the full model number and I can check to see if you are able to install an agitator for your model.

      On my Kenmore 800 Series Model 110.22352511, at one spot on the lower edge of that top piece, there is a very tiny gap. I put the tip of a short standard screwdriver in there, twisted it, and the top came right off.
