I'm going to do a shackle swap with new bushings in my 87 Samurai. I have everything ready to go. I've never done a bushing swap before, I've seen people use a hi jack on the bumpers to help lift the body, is that a decent way to get the weight off the springs?

I already have problems with my samurai 87 bushing, leafsprings and suspension..

Me too! Mine is 33+years old and has had a hard life, im fixing different things all the time lol.

did you saw a big difference with polyourethane bushings while driving?

Definitely smoothed the ride out a lot...but to be fair, my old bushings were in very bad shape

It helped reduce some wobble In my steering but it mostly helped smooth out the sharp bumps. The front bushings definitely made more of a difference for me than the rear.
