    I have the 2014 model ST an as a retired truck driver of 34 years at 3.2 Million accident free miles and having 15 cars and 9 Motorcycles, my Fiesta ST is the most fun I have ever had while driving, you fell so connected to the road, and I have a aftermarket 3 inch exhaust system witch sounds fantastic, and some otter goodies, I just bought a new set of Perelli P zero Neroes for it today and going to test them out on Angeles crest Highway, it's all about the Grip. I embarrass a lot of people in that car.

      I live in sunny So-Cal, they are very sticky, there's as good as the OME Bridgestone's, the Bridgestones are $178 and the Perelli's were only $100.

    They don't want to release a fiesta RS because it would hurt the focus RS sales too much. & would possibly be just as quicker for less money than the focus RS.

    I've got a four door 120 in black & I'm well impressed.
    The little 3 cylinder eco boost is a joy to use.
    It will hit 70 in third with revs to spare & handles like it's on rails.
    Don't dismiss it until you've driven one ..!

    Good god more sheep, everyone seems to be hating on this car already just for likes, it's getting ridiculous. No one has driven it, almost no one has seen it in the flesh. Since when has everyone become so quick to judge?
    I for one love the new design and I'm certainly not the only one. To be controversial I think its considerably better looking that the outgoing design and any other super mini on the market.

    • @HornsLa
      @HornsLa Před 7 lety +4

      Alex Dean the only thing we can judge is it's looks. With the performance being extremely similar to the previous, it needs to look better, more sportier, more road presence. But it fails badly.
      This is an extremely ugly looking car! which I will not be getting. Once my current cars finance runs out I'm upgrading to the previous version of the St, not this.

      Test drive a st-3 today. Wow! I could not stop smiling, it made me feel like a kid again. The steering is pin point, brakes are very good. The engine is very quiet driven normal, but give it sme welly and it's a riot. Great noises, sounds like a rally car when you lift off the accelerator. It's very quick, The looks don't bother me, it how it makes me feel when driving it. Gl for test drive and you'll be surprised with the engine.

  • @imjustacarguy7208
    @imjustacarguy7208 Před 7 lety +3

    Front looks good, the back is a bit too much like a minivan. And with the 3-pot engine, there wont be the same kind on tuneability off of the shelf. There are a lot of current gen STs running 250-260hp with a very small selection of aftermarket parts. I think that more people will move to the Focus ST for the next generation of hatchbacks.

    • @Cain353

  • @toma3397
    @toma3397 Před 7 lety +1

    The problem I have with inline 3 engines (and V6s) is not the displacement or power, it's that the engines are inherently less balanced and that in this case, the engine has less room for upgrades since it is already being pushed a bit to make the 200 ps form the factory

    • @davidnelson2370
      @davidnelson2370 Před 7 lety +2

      Balance is less of an issue if you don't have to rev it so hard. Turbos cover a lot for that. I agree with the comment about "headroom", it will be interesting to see what the turners are able to achieve.

  • @CygnusWithASmile
    @CygnusWithASmile Před 7 lety +2

    I like the new front end, the sides, the interior and the alloys are a huge improvement. However, why on earth did they give it the rear end off of a B-Max. It looks like they made the front end sleeker by pulling all the fat to the back of the car.

      Vision33r no I didnt expect to see a v6..however this would be cool. it just seems with a 3cyl tuning may be limited vs the 1.6 in the 2014 to 2016 st where 200 and up whp and 300 tq is achievable with dp fmic and tune. just my op tho.

    • @biggboysouth
      @biggboysouth Před 7 lety +7

      The Bromleys - I'm also very curious to see how this car will stack up to the out going fiesta in the tuning department. That's one of the reasons the current fiesta is so popular. It's a tiny engine that still had room from the factory to make more power giving it's owners something to play with. I wonder if the new 3 cylinder will have that same room for growth or will it be pretty much maxed out from the factory just to compete with the 4 cyl engine so ford can say "You don't loose any power with this new engine". Personally I don't see how this engine can have the same potential the current engine has. Lets hope I'm wrong.

    I too believe that downsizing is a good thing to get reduced fuel consumption with the same power. However, it's disappointing that the new Fiesta ST has the same fuel consumption as the new Polo GTI (which has the same amount of power), despite of the fact that it has an 1.5 l, 3 cylinder engine as opposed to a 2.0 l, 4 cylinder engine in the Polo.

    I know this is an old vid, but he said there is NO plans for a fiesta RS and to buy the Focus RS or the Fiesta ST. Well the Focus RS is not going to be built past April 2018. So what's Ford going to do about the RS line? The only option is the Fiesta because that's what I see running in the WRC. There has been talking of a front wheel drive fiesta RS and I see no point in that because that just kills ST sales. So the only real option for a fiesta RS is an AWD fiesta with higher hp than the ST . Then you have the issue of the Focus ST being pointless.
    I call B.S. on no Fiesta RS..! I'm thinking about a 230ish HP AWD Fiesta RS in 2019.

      Looks are subjective. As for the engine, the new Focus ST is rumored to have the same 1.5 3 cylinder turbo only with 275 hp. So I doubt 200 hp is the max for this engine. BMW has had a 231 hp 1.5 3 cylinder for several years now in the i8 and Ford managed to push their 1.0 3 cylinder turbo to 165 hp for the Formula Ford with relative ease. My guess is this will be same for the 1.5.
      And besides all that the new Fiesta ST is (even) lighter than the Mk7 Fiesta ST. I'd hold off judgement until the new one is released.

    The reason I want this car to be good is so that I could by the 2014 used model for less... now it looks that the old model will maintain its value :(

    For all those "Experts" we must WAIT to see the numbers on track of the this car, a 3 cyl engine can sound strange to me too but the downgrade it`s a thing now, in the F1 some years ago they has big V12 and now the V8 does the work better... the new Audi R8 have the V6 of the Porshe Panamera and the Lamborghni V10 it's an option in some countries, the world move on guys

    Great content but you should get rid of the "mm hmm", "okay", "right", "yup". It gets annoying really quickly. You don't always have to add useless speaking in between his pauses . Again - great content

    are those wheels 18s? waay oversized for that car. i have 100% faith in the sport technology department; asthetically its hideous, but I'll trade my 14 st in for it in a heartbeat

      Drew J well keep me posted on that one, because I love the look of my 2014, it's silver with carbon fiber wrapped hood black wheels 3 inch exhaust tinted windows it's sick looking, I get so many complements on it every day, there more rare than the Focus, they will be collectibles in years to come.

    The front of the car look pretty bad ass but the back looks so freaking bad, just a crappy "all brand already use style". Just keep 2017 back and change for the 2018 front and I'll be fine with that .:P

  • @davereid8585
    @davereid8585 Před 6 lety

    Very very expensive for what it is IMO. Mini cooper s would trump this and the polo gti. Tuneability is what sells performance cars, most people who have a original fiesta st consider tuning when buyin and when they buy ome they tune it because it's even more fun. For instance mountune do upgrades that don't void the warranty so has this been taken into consideration?? Alot of st fiestas have the mountune upgrade. This is too pricey and I'd rather have 2nd hand german enginering than pay for this old womans shed.
    Audi s1's still remain in another league and you'll have a blast from stock. They've al'so got very high tuning potential and plant the power.
    Screw you ford although the focus rs is superb car but thats another debate.

    I bet this engine will need to rev higher which would take away from the fun factor. The biggest this 3 Cyl will have vs 4 Cyl will be sound. I bet it will sound like crap. you can't hide that.

      Al S Not that 4 cylinder engines sound good to begin with, this certainly doesn't help. Guess I'll be keeping my ST220 for a long time. And go for a 2018 Mustang GT :D.
